When I spoke with the luthier at STS guitars, I was shocked to find out that the triangles are each cut out, dyed, and glued together into their pattern... making the wood grain flip in different directions, creating the 3D illusion. The dyes had a metallic sheen to them as well, but they're very focused on using environmentally friendly products. ☮❤🎶
Hi Lee, thx alot for coming by! Unfortunately all i can hear on the video is, that it reminds you abit of Relish. But let me do a quick statement here; It would be right to say; Relish reminds abit of Soultool and i tell you why; I designed that 2 models (Laguz and Venus) in the late 90s and put them on the market in the early 2000s, almost 20 years ago (Relish wasn't even around), but let me tell you more; This fine gentlemen went to several leading swiss luthiers (me included) to "have a look" on how to build electric guitars... And Jesus, they copy so many things from us and we all was so friendly and so naive to let them in our workshops. We small Luthiers world wide have a kind of codex; do your own thing or don't do it. For example that PU swap system, they saw it first in my workshop, the Alu/Wood layer construction at Marco Guitars, the electronic switching style at Total Guitars and so on. Maybe the first models were made in switzerland, but not for long. And "hand made"? They were as much hand made as a Tele or Strat. And there was many more disgusting things went on behind the curtains... What really bothers me and my luthiers friends is that they put such a bad light on high end guitars, made by reputable luthiers all over the world. Anyway, thank you and your staff for your great work and your awesome vids!!
some very beautiful craftmanship went into these guitars for sure. im sure they pplay and sound good as well. i guess ill just stick to my gibson les pauls and fender stratocasters. hard to break an old dog with new tricks
I have a Gittler Titanium guitar, purchased new, I've owned for several years. I've yet to see another guitar that comes close to the Gittler in engineering and design. from NAMM 2024, the only interesting "art and engineering" guitars (IMO) are the Marconilab Ego guitars. many "new" guitars are little more than variations of classic designs. IMO
I can feel the pain as Lee just wants to look and probably every builder there wanted to engage in conversation. That's why I enjoy trade shows this way. 💀
Thank you so much for taking the time to showcase all of us builders who exhibited at the boutique guitar showcase 🙌🏻
You should explain to Captian that they are mosaic top!
😂@@MadSteex
Thanks for stopping by!
i love the red astro
@@k13331jthanks! It’s available:)
Finally something about new stuff and not the most common brands. Best video
Thank Lee, really enjoyed that. Some stunning work on show there. You realise that the ideal number of guitars is always one more than you have!
He’s counting on it!😂
Thanks for sharing this with the folks that didn't get to attend NAMM. Much appreciated and keep up the great work.
6:50 these STS guitars are looking fire!

Thanks for stopping by my booth 🙏🏻Only a very low number of people are actually NOT shocked when they find out about that 😆
they're unbelievably cool, right? So good.
Thank you so much Sully 🙏🏻

0:56 I love that White Burst look, I first saw it on a PRS and I've seen Gibson do it in the Mod Shop, it so beautiful when done right!
3:30 tornasol
6:51 STS GUITARS
Some unbelievably beautiful guitars. Wow.
That composite bluish purplish greenish 5 string bass is beautiful
It looks like the boutique brands offer way more innovative guitars than the bigger brands that are missing this year!
I'm starting to wonder if they are just for Art not playing.. because many of them I wouldn't play
I love the passion form a lot of the smaller companies
Some cool stuff. The offset STS guitar was awesome.
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
It's like deja vu all over again.
Andertons needs some Sully guitars!!
Yesssssss
That may have been my favourite of the NAMM videos. Cool stuff
00:08 LAWD HAVE MERCY !! ........ummm what was you saying , Lee ? LOL
that JIGGLE... I mean, yes Lee! good meetings old sport!
He says "the end is in sight now" just as she walks into frame. Absolute poetry
This is awesome! Cool seeing some stuff that’s not the normal
Excellent.
3:48 wow them two!!!
Art work!
Well done Captain!
The boutique brands need more love! Far better guitars than a boring fender or gibson.
6:30 didn't put it back on the stand correctly! This guy just goes ahead and touches everything!
So many beautiful new shapes and colors and textures! Wow, my mind is reeling. Geez man.
Guitars and chill.
I have the usual oils and cloths to care for my instruments... and now they make a guitar I have to MOW! 😅
😂😂
Wow.
8:34 is mayonnaise an instrument?

I see you've knocked the background music volume up whilst the gaffer is away 🤣🤣
I won't sleep tonight. I'll be too busy wondering how the hell you re-fret one of those Strandberg guitars 😮💨
Interesting
Im alwayz ghetto fab in booteek guitar wares Lee
Is Dingwall not doing well then?
No G&L ?

You sound knackered Lee? 🥴
🤤
music is a bit too loud
All very beautiful but the same thing in different colors and materials. Nothing really new.
tone grass!!!
The nails yet again shows that "art" is subjective and mostly stupid as hell. That Ascension guitar is amazing though.
Everyone so desperate to try and be different lol
