Hughie was my grandfather's cousin Romie Thomasson Jr. I just found this out a few years ago. I wish I could've met him. My father (what would be hughie's 2nd cousin) looks so similar to him it gives me the chills. I know it makes me far relation. But Hughie I'm so proud to say you were in my family tree and how big of an impact you had doing what you loved! Hope to meet you on the other side some day.
Hughie was THE MAN my favorite Guitarist of all time I miss him but am glad for all the music he shared and created his spirit and music will live on forever
Yes if it wasn't for the Outlaws Lynyrd Skynyrd Allman Brothers Marshall Tucker Band there would never be no southern rock and roll thank you that's it and that's coming from Robert Bartels thank you very much!
And ZZ Top, Charlie Daniels, Black Oak Arkansas, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Wet Willie & Atlanta Rhythm Section to name a few more. Barefoot Jerry, Grinderswitch & Cowboy were there early too back in the day. As the song goes - these were a few of my favorite things. Still are. No need to thank me!
Man, they were just getting into the Best part and it cut off. I seen the Original Outlaw's in 1976 with Lynyrd Skynyrd at Dayton Hara Arena in Dayton,Ohio. I was 17 year's old and I still have my ticket stub to that one. It is posted as my profile pic. on here. Best Concert of my Life!!.. When I seen the Outlaw's plat Green Grass and High Tide's it was around 30 minute's long exactly, and they got a Standing Ovation!!..
thanks for posting this. I was there. I was left speechless. It was such a great evening. Ean, Chris, and Clay did such an awesome job, along with the rest of MTB. I have goosebumps again just watching this video. Once in a lifetime event, for sure.
RIP EAN. YOU R MISSED MAN. One legends tribute to anothers. RIP BOYS. YOU WILL LIVE ON FOREVER THROUGH YOUR MUSIC. I PROMISE YOU BOTH THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AS LONG AS I AM BREATHING.
Steve, Cassie, Ronnie, Leon, Billy, and even Hughie. When does it end? God I miss those guys so much. All the free birds are in green grass and high tides forever... Outlaw forever!!!
Thanks for posting the video! Ean was a friend of mine-he introduced me to many Skynyrd members and Dickey Betts. Miss Eans calls when they would be coming to Connecticut to play
Country music singers have always been a real close family but they both tried to kill me back in 1973 over and over I’ve put myself in a unique position cuz I’d get stoned and play ALL NIGHT LONG
