It's a shame Louis' UA-cam career is so shaky these days he had to take a part time job in that repair place. Here's hoping for a stock market and real estate crash so you can come back to your channel full time!
I guess he is in negotiations with Clinton. To have some other content besides cat videos on this cat channel.
This comment just made my day
@@OmniscientWarrior yeah, it's tough when your top actor stands up and asks for a larger cut.
Hey, man, at least it seems to be a chill place to work, right? Kudos to his boss being super cool with him making UA-cam videos while on the job. Best boss ever, amirite?
@@Kevin-jb2pv I dunno I heard he's a real hardass.

the daily flow of urine all over everything helps the place stay pristine !!!
is this reason Louis is so avid biker? I totally get it, it is fastest way + no subway.
Well, he's making the world a better place, one nasty, corroded and sticky motherboard at a time.
_Lives in NY_
Well, exactly, that's the point. He knows what he's talking about.

"That's brave, son."
"Yeah, I figured I had a 50/50 chance of becoming a pretzel.."
Great job, had me laughing for a while.
then follow that with his reaction to opening that laptop. It killed me
Paul is legend. He is the main character and we are all just NPCs in his story.
paul is the npc whose devs forgot to nerf his abilities from all 100 to something more average
This was one of those repairs you look at the board and think absolutely no way. Chat and I were super impressed.
Hey can everyone who see this comment report the guy posting the link in here, we as a community have to do something about these spammers because youtube wont.
@@thedeadliest4380 What I don't get is why these bots are posting links to videos that already have decent popularity.
Like there were a good number clearly real humans commenting on soap ASMR video, so it's not like he is struggling to reach an audience.
Is the poster hiring the bots? Are the bots just spamming random people's videos for a smear job?
@@TechSY730 The bots are super annoying. If you post on a channel lie TechMoan they'll be commenting nonsense on your post for weeks after. I just end up deleting my comment to make it stop. Pretty sure "woke" UA-cam has no interest in fixing that and would rather police pronoun use or some shit.
@@thedeadliest4380 they have nothing on political bots, they look like legitimate replys, reasonably staying on topic, until you read the name, and see 30 other accounts with the same or similar profile pictures, highly reviling pictures of weman with we-chat numbers in their usernames.
The amount of damage you repaired on this, while Apple would just send the whole machine to landfill, should be your main testimony for right to repair.
And yeah, this was surgery, you can find a video on tooth decay and it'll look the same, with the UV hardened compound and all.
it just goes to show how pithetic Apple is that's all
apple would have sent a tiny chip who just fell out right into the crapper.
inspecting and repairing a 10 year old degraded macbook sends Louis into an introspective reflection on how much he's upgraded and grown in the last 10 years

"And today, we're gonna need the big jar of flux." - probably the truth.
First seeing this in 2024 and I am a Texas that is still happy to welcome Louis Rossman as a now Texas resident and deeply appreciate his contributions to right to repair.
Personally I like everything the channel has to offer
I'll happily watch the cat videos, the sound of you fixing motherboards has kept me company while doing chores over the years and I appreciate your business philosophy talks

9:11 the guy might not be simply broke, he might as well happen to be from different country, thanks Louis for appreciating every donation. In fact you are fighting for all of us, for our freedom to make repairs independent of in which country. Your contribution is Pricless.
This is the perfect studying content. Watch some very intricate slow pace yet interesting work being done, all the while a well seasoned entrepreneur rants about the hardships of running a business. AND the man got jokes. Thanks for this
When you cut a human open and change some components there, even shorts between layers can be fixed on their own. Sadly PCB’s don’t have this feature. Good job man

'how do you train someone to do something that you don't even do?'
literally every company that isn't yours claims that it does... and they're completely full of it, because you're absolutely right.
I left my last job mostly because my supervisor was utterly incompetent but constantly took credit for myself and my coworkers training ourselves and doing everything, including sorting out the logistics and working around the dumb crap she told us all to do. when it finally came down to me leaving I told her it was ludicrous that she was telling me to do anything.
Louis, who could dislike you personally and therefore just dislike anything you stand for?
I might not agree with you on some things but I don't dislike you as a person. If anything my disagreements just drive me to do research to prove you wrong.

So the carbon is like overburdening hoof horn that needs to be removed so the sole ulcer can heal, plus those false sole layers are perfect places to gether corrosion and debris to create more corrosion so it'll spread like digital dermatitus. I suggest digging it all out and applying iodine and salasylic acid and coming back in two weeks to see how she's doing.
You’ve been getting those videos recommended to you as well I see 😂
@@Killinrivas lol, I was so about to say that, cuz I actually watched a few. I was wondering why those were being suggested.
Let's be honest though-none of us knew how interesting trimming cow feet was.
Holy crap I did not expect to read this. This video def. needs more scenic drone views though.
Yes Hoof GP is good.
1:01:49 The power of positive thinking: This is gonna work...this is gonna work ...this is gonna work ....... I can't believe that didn't work. I feel terrible.
The power of negative thinking: No way this will work...no way this will work...no way this will work.... I can't believe that actually worked. I feel wonderful.
Your choice.
I have this kind of urge of trying to repair computers when I think it is possible. I am a novice but with a little patience and caution it can be done. But this your repairing is done with knowledge and you have this as a job, impressing. Thank you.
The history Louis has with professional-grade audio equipment shows in his choices of recording setup. Yes, most people wouldn't use the compressor, but it helps sort out things that nothing else will sort out.
I think the main thing that anyone who wants to clean up their audio should take away is that it's a lot easier to boost quiet audio in a room with good acoustics than it is to clip fix blown out ear rape you get from trying to shout over a room with crap acoustics. 99% of bad home audio can be fixed by just by tacking some blankets up over the corners, turning the AC and any other fans off for a few minutes during takes, and _turning your fucking gain down_
Edit: the fan thing also happens to be the reason got me an old-ass, gigantic thermal take case with a big, slow-spinning 8 inch fan in the side and a totally overkill heatsink. It won't game for long in quiet mode settings, but it can chug along quite nicely in reduced power mode and zero fan speed (except the big-un) when it's just chewing on Audacity.
agreed

It was at that moment Louis realized,
This was not going to be fun.
And yet he keeps doing it. I'm wondering if he doesn't enjoy the pain and torture.

I actually love your videos and mostly the board repair videos. Whenever I have time. I like to see you in action and also have good time listening to your comments.
I have to say Louis you have amazing audio on your channel!! I am also a big fan of your work and great content!! Thank you!! 🙂👍👏👏👏👏
I missed it this time..damnit. Told you I watch the board repairs. Thanks for the video Louis
Paul’s Surgical Precision ❤️
Love the fact that you give credit and acknowledgement to Paul..Kudos to Louis
I know “ no one “ watches these , but I appreciate every one that you do . Your entertaining, and informative! Thank you !! When you took some time off I missed it ! By the way we were given a older non functional MacBook . I looked with my iPhone camera under high magnification and saw lots of problems related to water damage . I almost sent it to your company, however it wasn’t worth the cost . Oh well , on some morbid level I kind of hope one day I will send one in in hopes of hearing you fix it . Thanks again for your hard work, and here is prayers for your business to succeed past its current level so you can one day take a break . You’ve will have earned it my friend!
I watched this video until the very end, and the effort in disturbing your knowledge is very much appreciated. I’ve also been watching your videos about introductory concepts of electronics and you explain things the way I wish they were in highschool, because we aren’t taught concepts like that, we’re just given what you call the “formal education”
I had a 95 in my grade 12 physics last year and am only now putting the concepts into any sort of practical understanding because of your content
Back to a bit of classic Rossman
Hi from Mexico city, I have been in the computer industry for 34 years, repairing boards since 3 gen computers, and this repair was amazing, I wish you all the best, you deserve it
Found my new favorite relaxing video, thank you Louis Rossmann, for having the best mic on UA-cam!
That is amazing, hats off to Paul.
I usually watch your right to repair and New York real estate videos, but this one was pretty interesting. I can't believe the two of you brought that board back to life.
I can’t believe I didn’t realize how good your audio is! My ears thank you!!
This was one wild ride, a good amazing board repair for the memory books!
Damn nice repair! I’ve often marveled at Pauls precision. That’s so cool every time I see it!
1:58 "It hasn't, at a- Oh My God!"
First time seeing this done i am very surprised you're able to get so rough with the bord and it still work makes me at least feel comfortable with attempting it myself with proper toolage. Good stuff
Louis’ comment @10:48 about not moving to Texas didn’t age so well. Things change, so I’m sure that the reasons he mentioned he didn’t want to move there are null and void given the opportunity he has to make moves on right to repair while still allowing his business to continue.
Also ironically, someone superchatted “I think Louis should find somebody to form a limited partnership to find someone with capital and use your business as passive income.” Definitely easy to say that is vague in this instance, but it has seemed to come true in a sense with his new employer. Interesting how much of the future was sort of told in this video.
Lesson learned here: never say never! Louis I respect your desire to do the right thing. You are a true testament to entrepreneurship in that you always do what you think is right and best for the company and your employees, even if in the long run it doesn’t work out to be the best decision. You admit to your faults and learn from them (as do I) and you move on working to not make the same mistakes you did in the past. Respect!
still watching the preroll ads but i just wanna say paul is a BEAST! :D
of course he fixed it. if he had unlimited time, i am confident he could fix world hunger.
I personally love this kinds of vids. It is so relaxing and you learn so much!

when i solder i like to listen to your board repair videos
Well done
Best vid ever Louis. Keep the humour going!
i like repair videos like this one. doesn't seem like it could be saved but it was done with a ton of scraping
Hey louis was wondering what you though of Missouri. I live in a descent size growing tourist town. Branson, here for the price of rent you pay you could actually buy land and setup a shop above it for way cheaper. Only 2-3miles from the city. And we do have colleges and not really any local repair options that aren't an hour plus trip away. Even apple service centers :)
I can’t tell what I’m looking at half the time because of how filthy the board is. Louis says pads are bad and I can’t see it past the shit.
Xray sight lol
