@A real bisexual petrol-head the Ford GT and Corvette Z06 contradicts the statement that Americans can't design cars that look as good as those two brands.
@A real bisexual petrol-head I agree with you on the Luxury and reflector part, most Americans that change up their vehicles black out the reflector lights. And it seems like the only car that kind of balances luxury and performance is Tesla but that's mostly because Americans want to give you performance for a reasonable and affordable price. Keeping the interior from being too flashy is what keeps the price down and let's your blue collar working man afford the cars like Corvettes and Mustangs all way keeping up with their European counterparts.
Sometimes I like to lay on my back in bed and pretend I am a rich lawyer or a doctor who lives on a mountain side somewhere in a really upscale house overlooking all the poor people in the city far away from me and that I have this exact car in the garage while I sip on some expensive wine in the shade. Then my alarm rings and I have to put on my mcdonalds hat and head off to work in a geo metro with a broken side window and a missing back bumper and expired tags.
The Cadillac CTS-V is the coolest (modern) sedan to ever come out of America, in my heavily biased opinion! :D Holden & HSV never made anything this cool in Australia... aside from maybe the ClubSport R8 LSA wagon.
It isn't just weight reduction, it's also lowering the center of mass. By reducing weight high up in the car, the center of mass goes down. That is important in any car that needs to be sporty.
I want one. Out of production now but still a few left in dealer inventory. The last of the great American super sedans. It will always be collectable, as so few were made and this final iteration is the best ever.
I also wanted one but I set a budget of 50k.I am upper middle class and could have gone out on a limb and bought one--but even slightly used they were 80k plus.I actually went and got a 2020 AWD Stinger GT 3.3TT.GM will make another Super Sedan--but reliability and gas mileage have to be met now.I am at an age where I can afford it--but there are so many great cars that are cheaper--and sadly I retired early and coming up on another election--I wanted to keep funds for my vehicle account intact and not blow it all.It is a great car but costs a lot to maintain and fuel mileage is awful and it needs premium gas.You know the ATS_V are as fast and get better mileage. If an investment takes off after trump wins and i make a windfall--i might trade my Stinger in.But I am frugal now and do not buy near my limit anymore.I own my stinger and have over 30k in the bank for my car account and I sleep better at night.Dealers still have SS with less then 20k miles and this car will be great for a few more years.
@@khronin the Chevy SS is another awesome car, again out of production, but similar Powertrain to CTSV. It is more affordable but again has depreciated very slowly as the supply was so small and buyers know what they want.
A 10 would be something like LaFerrari or an Ariel Atom that’s really small and lightweight and 1 is something like an old school Cadillac so I think 6 is a decent score. Maybe 7 tops.
@@sliknik1025 yeah the way he bases his scale seems very off. Should scale it based on the segment rather than all cars as a whole. I wouldn't be comparing handling a LaFerrari to a CTS-V.
I am usually not a big fan of US made cars but this thing is just plain spectacular. The center console is far too glossy and chrome-laden for my taste, though. Plus, it's an obvious fingerprint magnet as we could see in the video. But I do adore that colour, as well as the overall styling. Cadillac really should keep and evolve this design line. My fears are that they will replace the reduced sedan range by another overweight, wobbling, high-rise SUV, though. :-((

Love the car and this color too. If I could afford to blow 100K on a depreciating rock, I'd get it. It's a shame that now that Cadillac has finally built something killer, they kill it. Too bad you didn't show the underside or talk about any of the cooling system(s) or braking performance. Wondering if it has a fancy drive shaft and under body aerodynamic covers. I think I will give a Doug Score on Doug's review... giving it a 6 out of 10.
It'll be half the price in 2 years
@@ninjamaster3453 a quarter of that in 5 or more years
Doug doesn't really drive the cars so true performance he'll never know.
@@bryanmartinez6600 25k for this?! No way dude.
@@bryanmartinez6600 it's not going to be a quarter because the price won't be under 40k for a long time maybe after 9 then yes. Reason being caddy will no longer build this car so instant classic.
66!!! come one Doug, you know it deserves at least a 72
I agree
I think these automakers cutting out their sedan lineups in favor of crossovers are gonna regret this when the fad dies out and they have to build sedans again.
Also: what was wrong with having buttons?!
Mr. Boring on UA-cam 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 they gonna sit there and scratch their heads and be like “damn we gotta go back 15 years to the sedan board and make sedans again”
@Nissim Levy It has neither performance of a sports car, nor roominess of a simple van, nor offroad capability of a decent 4x4, nor cargo of a truck. SUVs and crossovers are most idiotic vehicles imaginable.
@@Quicksilver_Cookie but it's got quite a bit of the capabilities of all of these. SUVs are the best vehicles EVER
@Nissim Levy No SUV made by Dodge can perform like a sportscar. Id take a Alfa Stelvio Quadrafolgio or a Maserati Levante Trofeo or a Mercedes AMG 63 Coupe for sport performance over a Dodge SRT anyday
Mr. Boring on UA-cam I love sedans, space for the homies , preforms like a sports (some sedans are sports) and it’s low to the ground just the way I like it.
Am I the only one who wants actual buttons in my car
At least a volume knob and an off button.
These Cadillac buttons are just aweful. No idea who approved of that, but I'll always prefer the normal buttons to stuff like that.
I love satisfying buttons and switches
You are not.
I dont need buttons
Is anyone else surprisingly extremely depressed they killed off the CTS? 😢
Which CTS do you have?
CTS-V successor (CT5-V) is being shown to the world in about a week. #YouAreWelcome #ThankMeLater >>> www.motor1.com/news/349607/cadillac-ct4-v-st5-v-debut/
CT5 looks like do-do will definitely miss the CTS and why is caddy getting rid of the 2nd most popular nameplate after the escalade. Will miss the 4 door Z06
@@CRAPO2011 In my opinion, the CTS is by far a better looking sedan than the CT5 replacing it. Hopefully it's just photographing horribly and it looks better in the flesh. Regardless, I almost don't want them to put the 'Blackwing' V8 in the 'V-Series' version. I want them to continue using the Corvette V8. Save the polished V8 for the CT6-V - let the unapologetic American V8 continue to power this middle of the pack (in the Caddy lineup) CT5-V.
@@chefcjnobles2423 Also with the vette engine modding is readily available to raise horsepower to the moon switching to a new engine will limit options (unless the blAckwing is going into the C8). Case in point the STS-V has barely any mods available. "Blackwing" I hope it will be reliable and not another flawed engine like the northstar.
That glovebox button is not overkill. I think it adds to the tech and luxury.
Sad that the CTS-v is going to stop production soon. It’s an amazing car

I own a 2014 Cadillac XTS V-Sport Platinum. 410 HP. AWD. This car is simply striking. The interior is slathered in leather top to bottom inside, with gorgeous dovetailed wood accent trim (2 different types mated togrther. The car shows the upper trim Cadillacs of this short time period are truly epic.
R.kelly would love that school zone notification feature.
RaShad Wav. Cult ha
If all this car had (at it's price ) was a latch to open the glove box, I'm sure you would have ranked on Cadillac for not having a button to push to open said glove box.
I have a 2016 cts and the interior features are basically identical... and I got mine for 25k...
Willy J Gonzalez do you have the hidden compartment behind the center console? And how many miles did you buy it for? This is my dream car I’ve always wanted a caddy
@@yungkage1693 go buy a cts4 exact same interior its awd but only had like 350hp but the dash is actually different mine has 3 digital customizations whereas the ctsv for some reason doesn't. My cts4 msrp was $68,000 but I bought it for $17,000
@@diabetusbarber6835 yeah I don’t want a caddy anymore, they look good and drive good but they have no reliability they break down all the time. I know this because my dad owns a GMC Yukon. What a freaking awesome car! Finally seeing you excited about an American sedan, is also thrilling!
Hello Doug. I wanted to ask you when you will upload that review about the channel "AutoScout24 Confiscated Cars Sale" ? I would like to buy a car from them, as they are currently offering the best cars at the best prices. They are only ones who are selling the newest models of Ferarri, Bentley, McLaren, and others for only 20 to 25 thousand as they are all confiscated from their owners by the government, which is why I would like to see your review first, and of course, what do you think about that great opportunity? Thanks, and keep up with the good work my friend :D
That's because it is *the first* exciting American sedan.
TheRPGentleman you’re obviously pretty young then lol
Lollll

The Cadillac CTS-V is the coolest (modern) sedan to ever come out of America, in my heavily biased opinion! :D Holden & HSV never made anything this cool in Australia... aside from maybe the ClubSport R8 LSA wagon.
Yeah, the Chevy SS and Pontiac G8 were cool, but this is easily GM's baddest 4 door yet.

Tesla model S is better.
It isn't just weight reduction, it's also lowering the center of mass. By reducing weight high up in the car, the center of mass goes down. That is important in any car that needs to be sporty.
Idiotic that he thinks the carbon fiber hood only saves "a couple pounds".
Can’t wait to see you review the ct5-v black wing

Welcome. Modern Cadillacs are some of the best driver's cars (that nobody realizes).

Remember when Doug drove that Maserati with the turn signal on?
That was the best DDM video by far
Killing it in that Lego shirt.

6 in handling for one of the best handling sedans on the planet? C'mon Doug!
"Best handling sedans"
Rudy Roman no its actually one of the best, period.
