I don't know if you'll ever see this but I love your teaching method. I appreciate the little finger trick this time and how you brushed some thread onto the floor. My most favorite thing you teach every time is finger pressing, this is most helpful to me. Thank you for your videos
Ha! I've just decided to browse through older videos....and yes I've something new again: "flip it over"...no binding! great idea as I'm making my daughter's T shirt quilt
You have changed my life, I have COPD and on oxygen and I have been following your Tutorials and have found much easier ways to do things , you have widen my skills so much, you are the greatest Thank you so much you go into small details that help so much.
Love seeing your videos. I love seeing how you guys have gotten better at showing us how to make the quilt or runner or whatever your working on. You've made it so much easier for us. I can't tell you how many patterns I've ordered from you and stopped the video so you could explain it to me AGAIN. And you always do. Thank you.
I love your videos and have learned a lot. I never had an interest in quilting until I moved last year and now live across the street from a quilt shop! The fabrics are just so beautiful I couldn't resist, and your videos are highly recommended over there. Thanks so much for taking the time to share these beautiful patterns.
That would be a serious downfall for me! I'd have no willpower to finish before I bought something else. I know because I already have that problem. Lol. Hope you do better than I do. Maybe it's good I live in my little woods in Mississippi.
Just ordered a kit! I got the jo Morton Navy...with the dots and vines for backing ( praying that match’s!!) I’m making for my niece’s new home...and I’m a beginner...but your instructions seem that even I can be successful!! Thanks!!! Jen
Good evening Donna, flower i like the runner and the colours that have been used but i love the table topper. It is so beautiful and would match in with my home just beautifully. Thank you for your time and care again at sharing your skills with us, as i for one so very much appreciate your time that you take. Love from Central Scotland
Just started watching your videos recently. You are honestly the best teacher I've found😀 Your instructions are succinct, your explanations direct and to the point, and you're so calming😀 Your designs are just amazing. Thanks so much Donna.
She is a great teacher. She gets down to business without a lot of unnecessary talk about irrelevant things, which drives me straight up the wall with some tutorials. When we are ready to work we want to get down to it. She is fabulous!
I just recently started watching your videos and thoroughly enjoy them! I'm impressed how precise your cutting and piecing are. I ordered this table runner kit today and can't wait to receive it. Please keep the videos coming. Thank you.
I just started watching your videos within the last 2 weeks. You guys are amazing and can't wait to get one of your kits. Thanks for the inspiring videos.
Thank you for your tutorial. I love your Videos. Your instructions and tips are so simple and easy. I am from Europe and it is very easy for me to follow your tutorials in english. Dear Donna thank you very very much.
Its important to check the table topper precuts before you purchasr with the intent to covert it. One or 2 table runner sets don't lend themselves well to be converted. Its inly a few, but I was disappointed when I bought a couple of the new Christmas kits because there wasn't a darker colored boarder to use to make the cornerstones. So, I made them as originally intended table runners snd all is well. I did call Jordan Fabrixs and ket thrm know and they agreed the particular table runner kit I had purchased didn't really wirk as a table topper. This is the first time I have ever been disappointed with a kit from Jordan Fabrics. Ever.
I woul like to see one as well. I've seen some from others but you are good at explaining and showing hints and tricks. I think I would learn more from you as a teacher.
Love this video. Do you have this in a blue, that would go with a navy couch. Would love to make this for my sister. She has a dining room table and a large square table in her living room, which is right next to her kitchen, all open. She would love this. I love the shimmering material.
You can find all our Log Cabin table runners - all of which can be modified to make a topper HERE: jordanfabrics.com/collections/log-cabin-table-runner-kits
A lot of people seemed interested in what kind of machine I'm using, so we made a video about it. Here is a link: ua-cam.com/video/n3-lr2YNMEo/v-deo.html Happy sewing!
I love watching your videos. But now I want to make a log cabin block. But isn't it harder to quilt on batiks? But do you work with anything other than batiks? I love your channel
Love the table topper. Few questions: what size does this make? If I make this, I would want to buy the matching backing fabric, but have no idea how much is needed.Otherwise, the tutorial is great, and very informative. Watched your tutorial on how to make the table runner. You were using a Singer machine, and I must say, after watching you sew on your industrial machine, it was painful to watch! Also, could you give us the information on how to make your ironing pad or where to buy it? I am a beginner quilter and trying to iron the bigger quilts on it, can be difficult, so would like to make a square ironing surface. Any ideas you have would be appreciated. Thanks.
We have a free download with all the measurements on our website here: jordanfabrics.com/pages/table-topper-modification-directions Our first few videos were filmed with me sewing on the Singer home machine because it is much quieter, but believe me - it is painful for me to sew with it! I am so used to the industrial, and so unfamiliar with the home machine that I finally decided to just film only using the industrial machine and am very happy now! We make our own ironing board by stapling heavy duty canvas over cotton batting onto plywood. We will make a video showing how to make one soon.
Love it but think ill need 3 kits?? I want the topper plus 4 placemats for my country kitchen table its 85 1/2 inches X 45...??? Would that. Give me enough material? Plus I would need yardage of 1 color for the backing..... What size does this. Topper turn out to be? And do you also have the yardage of these awesome colors still seeing this video is over a yearold?
We do not have this combination any longer, but have others here: jordanfabrics.com/collections/pre-cut-products?_=pf&pf_pt_pre_cuts=Log%20Cabin%20Table%20Runner%20Kit You will nee 2 table runner kits and 2 yards to make a topper and 4 place mats
I wonder if your could make a 60 inch round table cloth using the quilt kit instead of a Table runner. I wonder if I could figure it out. I have to use square table cloths all the time because round is hard to find.
Hi Donna - I received my first kit a few days ago from you (Cotton & Steel Paper Bandana), a table runner kit which I made into a table topper. So easy to put together! I am a relatively new sewist and it took me an afternoon to do the whole thing. Just need to quilt it a bit. I did have trouble with the corner stones... I did not square it off correctly I think. But, I decided to leave the corner stones off and just do the last bigger border all the way around and it worked beautiful. Plenty of fabric to do that and I actually like it better. The instructions you have available to convert the table runner to either a table topper or placemats is so clever. One suggestion - on your website, you could make suggestions for addition fabric needed for the back. This would be very helpful when ordering. Another suggestion - how about some precut kits using Art Gallery Fabrics? They are my favorite right now. Thanks so much!
Thanks for your comment. We are starting to add backing fabric suggestions to the listings to make it easier for our customers to get the coordinating fabric. I'll check out the Art Gallery collection and see what we can do.
Lovely table runner ,I would love to make it ,but the colour your using is not right for me iv tried to get your free pattern , but I can not find it can you help me please Norma , from England 🤗
I am interested in purchasing table runner kit by Northcott, Pre-cut, Artisan Spirits. Do you have the same and the cost. I have been a customer and enjoy your teachings. Nilda Gerena-Colon, Kissimmee, Fl. 34759
? ??? Is there any reason the dark rails are in the center and the light on corners when putting the 4 log cabin blocks together? Or is this just a preference rather than a rule? The reason I am asking, is that the center square has a meaning regarding history of a log cabin block, i believe a widow or door. I like the dark on outer corners and light in center but I want to be correct in assembly. Thanks, ~ Sheri in AZ
It's the centre of a single lot cabin block that traditionally represents the fire/hearth and would be a red square. The rails then go around, these are the walls of the cabin. Usually light/dark combination. The way the individual blocks are then arranged into a full runner, hanging, quilt can vary between several layouts, straight furrow, barn raising etc. However, these rules don't have to be followed, that's the beauty of quilting try different things.
Teaching my cousin to sew, I find myself teaching her the same way I learned, by watching you Donna!
Thank you very much
I know that I am looking at 4 year old videos but I just started sewing this year. Love your videos.
I absolutely love the closeups on all your videos. We don’t have to strain our eyes to see what you’re doing. Great job camera person.
I don't know if you'll ever see this but I love your teaching method. I appreciate the little finger trick this time and how you brushed some thread onto the floor. My most favorite thing you teach every time is finger pressing, this is most helpful to me. Thank you for your videos

Beautiful! And so handy to be able to make a square table topper in addition to the longer ones. Loved the "blooper" afterwards!
I’m not so
Am looking forward to watching your tutorial on making an ironing board. Again, love all your tutorials. Thanks for the quick reply. Much appreciated!
I love this idea of being able to make a table topper out of a table runner. Thanks for another great tutorial!
Love this fabric !! And turning a runner into a topper is such a good idea !

How much is it ?
How I can buy it ?
Please answer me
Como que eu faço para adquirir essas peças
I love watching your videos. But now I want to make a log cabin block. But isn't it harder to quilt on batiks? But do you work with anything other than batiks? I love your channel
I tend to quilt using only batiks and they are no harder to quilt than normal fabrics. Why do you think they are?
@@MrsGraphiteGal I don't know. I love quilting with batiks. They are more vibrant. I was scared of batiks at first. Now I love sewing with them.
Is this kit still available?
Love the table topper. Few questions: what size does this make? Hard to understand without cc. I want to know what size the boarders?
I want to know, what sewing machine your using.
I am using a Consew single needle industrial machine. It
only goes forward and backwards and has no fancy stitches, but it is really
fast!
👍🌹🌹🌹🌹👌👌👌
Do you have this kit available to buy.
