Them metal pieces look like bearing cages. Might want to pull the diff and check the pinion and carrier bearings

    Nice detailed job, as always
Also I've had 90s trucks my whole life and never knew you could take the spare down without the original tool!!

If you ever change the tranny fluid in that truck DO NOT use that "high mileage ATF" in it. Its fine for the transfer case, but in that trans you want Dexron VI. Preferably the AC-Delco brand.

@@ClassALiving Its not the right fluid for your trans. GM uses Dexron fluid. Ford uses Mercon. Different viscosity and additives. The walmart high mileage stuff is a "universal" ATF thats supposed to meet the specifications of both. Which is impossible since they are different viscosity fluids. Transmissions are very sensitive to fluid pressure. Use the correct fluid. The universal crap causes more problems than it solves.

Man you could use some ramps or a deep ditch to do that work in.

Hi Nathan, while probably not true for your '93, my 2006 2500HD requires a GM additive to be included in the front & rear differentials (& transfer case too I believe) after a fluid change.. regards, Dennis

If the RPO code says G80 it needs the additive be in the glove box for code
