  • I went to replace a leaky coolant connector and it snapped off in my intake manifold on my 1993 GM Chevy Silverado 454 K3500 so I had to remove the manifold and fix the problem. Scrapped off the old manifold gaskets and replaced with new ones. Also ended up replacing many other things like cooling hoses, fittings, throttle position sensor, fuel pressure regulator, fuel injectors, distributor and set the timing after finding tdc.

imagine the cost of having a shop do this work $$$$$$$$$. this is one of the major issues when a vehicle sits for a long period of time especially outside in the elements. corrosion takes over and parts start to bond together. but all considering nate you got it done. well done buddy.

Best way I found on those heater hose quick connection s is to brake them off and use a hacksaw blade make two cuts then you can get the prices out with a screw driver

The fan clutch seems ok. They are stiff when they have been static as the fluid drains to the bottom and it’s quite thick… when you start it it will drive the fan until the fluid is flung out to the gallery and the fan hub will unlock slowing the fan to free wheel. When the air warms the bi metallic spring it opens a valve and lets the fluid into the drive member engaging the clutch. You can hear the fan roaring when you start from cold and hear it disengage after a few seconds if you hold the revs up

That EGR bypass looks a lot better than mine, I used the old valve, and part of a Mountain Dew can.

Get rid of those goofy china wall gaskets .....🙅🤦 Ultra grey nice healthy bead and your done. Set the intake on square and let it tack up , don't bolt it down right away 10-15 mins then torque it down. Those china wall gaskets rubber or cork always leak ...🌊💦💦💦
