Money doesn't make people happy, but a new Emma's lesson really does! :D Thank you for extremely useful lessons! My friend has just started to learn English and I immediately recommended your channel, Emma!
From this lesson, I’ve learned a lot of expressions about wealth and money in English. Some of them are similar to the ones we have in German. Other examples in our language are: “Money governs the world and filthy money”. I’ve learned from my parents to be economical and always to think twice before buying anything. Now when I’m retired I don’t have to worry about money. Being rich can also mean being happy and living in a beautiful environment
Emma, thank you for 'Slang & Phrases for English Conversation' especially for the last one 'money can't buy happiness. I completely agree with you. 'Health is the root of all happiness.' Can money buy health? Again 'knowledge is power.' Will money be able to snatch away that power from a knowledgeable person. Now let's get to the main point, '𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐛𝐮𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬.' In fact, happiness consists in contentment. If I am not satisfied with what I have, I will not be happy though I have a great deal of money, In contrast, I have enough money to meet my basic needs and I am pleased with that, then I am happy. Actually, happiness cannot be compared to money. Happiness counts more than money.
