Thanks for your lesson, you are great! In my opinion, it is sad when someone is without money, but on the other hand, having a lot of money can also cause a lot of worries. Cash is trash! Money gets its value only when you change it for something. Greetings from Slovenia!

From this lesson, I’ve learned a lot of expressions about wealth and money in English. Some of them are similar to the ones we have in German. Other examples in our language are: “Money governs the world and filthy money”. I’ve learned from my parents to be economical and always to think twice before buying anything. Now when I’m retired I don’t have to worry about money. Being rich can also mean being happy and living in a beautiful environment

Emma, thank you for 'Slang & Phrases for English Conversation' especially for the last one 'money can't buy happiness. I completely agree with you. 'Health is the root of all happiness.' Can money buy health? Again 'knowledge is power.' Will money be able to snatch away that power from a knowledgeable person. Now let's get to the main point, '𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐧'𝐭 𝐛𝐮𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬.' In fact, happiness consists in contentment. If I am not satisfied with what I have, I will not be happy though I have a great deal of money, In contrast, I have enough money to meet my basic needs and I am pleased with that, then I am happy. Actually, happiness cannot be compared to money. Happiness counts more than money.

@@mmmEnglish_Emma Thanks a lot Emma! All in all, I haven't watched all your wonderful channel completely yet. And I know precisely that there are a lot of informative and enlightening videos there. I've been subscribed to that recently. I'm aware of that you've been recording lessons for several years and I'm trying to catch up with you, watching your videos every single day, sometimes a few times in a row the same lesson so that to remember that better. I devote to it all my time 'n' I feel that my listening and speaking progress is growing up day by day, due to you, Emma! It's my cherished dream! What about inversion in English? I know exactly that many learners try to avoid this topic but in vain 'cause most of them can't use the Inversion correctly. In addition, I'd be very happy to see your lessons containing verbs, adjectives, nouns for Advanced/Proficiency levels. Maybe, there'll be the most sparsely used words what I'll be so glad no doubt. But needless to say, every your lesson, that even doesn't matter what that's all about, what a topic, all it makes me happy!

There are preconditions in my case, I have got much time, will, and, in my opinion, I am not as thick as two short planks, but if it this does not take place, it also will be all right. Money can't buy happiness, but poverty can't buy anything.
The whole money can't buy happiness saying is a load of s#!t, money most definitely can buy happiness, whether it be access to medicine, going on holidays, buying items like a house or car and countless other things that make people happy. It's not the only thing that can bring happiness, not all things that make people happy can be bought, but a damn lot of them sure can.

Some say 'The poor are born to suffer' and some say 'The rich are always happy' --neither of the sentences is absolutely right I think 'the rich are not always happy.' The poor may be happy while the rich may not be happy. To me, happiness should not be compared to money. Happiness consists in contentment. 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲. I had to read Alexander Pope while at school. Pope has said that happiness can be found in living a retired, quiet, and self-sufficient life on one's own land.

I like this idiom very much " money can't buy happiness " . Happiness comes from living life with satisfaction what you have.

@Dream I really with your statement especially in today's life but if I didn't have money still I would be happy. It's all about our thinking. Money can give you happiness but at some limit. After that you won't get happiness.

@Dream It's okay. But it's good to know that you're happy now .nothing is permanent , everything is temporary. God does everything for a reason .anyways really good to talk with you. Thanks.

It's a real pleasure watching your classes Emma!! I loved this one! Your pronunciation is so understandable n perfect. In Argentina they say about "money can't buy happiness": el dinero no es la vida, es tan sólo vanidad

Very helpful as usual. Keep it up! Can you make a lesson on transitions like thereby, whereby, thereafter, therein, thereof please? I'm at times puzzled by these words.
