Hello Emma. Thank you for these helpful videos. During the school holidays, I look after my four grandsons. I really enjoy that because we look for board games in their wardrobes to play together. They live on the other side of the country and when I go to look after them, I look in on my old friends who are living there. Now I'm looking forward to the world to become normal after the virus gets out.

Hi Emma ! This lesson was very intense ! Not easy to remember when you must use look in on, or look after, or look out for... I answered right only at 4 items , in the quiz.
So, now, there are my four sentences :
1 - When i went abroad last year, my husband looked after my cats.
2 - When i was twelve, i had a friend who looked down on the younger girls at school.
3 - At the moment, i'm looking forward to the USA elections resuts.
4 - My friend Claudie is so beautiful and talentuous ! i look up to her.
Thanks, Emma. Have nice days in your new home !

Emma this is a great lesson! I have some questions about the quiz, though:
    - Could we have used the verb "looking into" in the second sentence? --> We spent hours looking into her record collection.
    - In the same way, could we have used "look over it" instead of "look into it"? ---> I can't get my laptop to connect to the projector, can you look into it for me?
    - Finally, in the fifth question, I thought "look after" was the correct choice. Is there any reason why "look out for" is a better option? --> My friend Sarah doesn't have a family living nearby so I always look after her.
Thank you so much for these videos, they are so helpful and enjoyable!

    • @mmmEnglish_Emma
      @mmmEnglish_Emma  4 роки тому +6

      Good question, but no!
It’s strange to use them together because the meaning in the sentence is just duplicated. There is no need to use both expressions together in one sentence.

Thank you for this new lesson. At the third one, I would have chosen "look over". Can it match too?

That's why i have been following like a year now and don't forget i practice Australian accent and what funny is that i downloaded the whole playlist of English pronunciation and watched it all without knowing when i finished all of it 😂😂
    Love you sister
Your bruh from Somalia saying hi but the way you pronounced it when you were talking about how to sound the country names in English was funny 😂 but you nailed it btw
