Mine is the cheaper version in the description with 16gb of storage space. Make sure you get one that's actually made by XTRONS because I'm not sure about the quality of other brands
Just wanted to see if this radio was still holding up? I'm tired of the aux adapters I've been getting and this radio looks amazing to get the factoryish look
Still working perfectly and I love it. I originally wanted a double din that goes in the lower storage compartment, but this one had great reviews which is pretty uncommon considering there are countless brands that all make ones that look identical. Plus I couldn't pass up on the features and simple plug and play. XTRONS was the only one I can find that supports both single and dual zone AC which is pretty cool too.
Hi! Will this be compatible with an iphone like bluetooth, USB, etc? Also, do you have any suggestions in the Atlanta area that could do this? Most places are asking me to get rid of the cubby or purchase the kit and I don't want either.
With Bluetooth it should work fine, not sure about USB. And I'm not familiar the Atlanta area but if you tuck the wires up far enough you can keep the cubby fully functional
Wrong way to remove the ac vents that will surely leave a nasty mark. U just have to pull the vents towards u and they come off. Never use a screwdriver on interior to loosen any clips...
Also, 9 out of 10 that the placement of both the Wifi and GPS antennas will fall off after a few hot sunny weeks. That's because placing them underneath a "black" dash panel will cause the adhesive tape to heat up. The hot weather and hot sun light will be hottest on black surfaces, and the tape will loosen up and fall off. Plus adding the gravity pulling on it, and the constant road bumps - and it will only make the tape fall off even more. It's best to tape them on "top" of a hidden surface, and also use a secondary way of securing them. But overall, its ok - nice job kid.
@@kingsteray8411 For the GPS sensor, I was able to thread the wire down a small gap between the top of the dash and the windshield vents. I grabbed the wire underneath and gently pulled it all the way down, until the sensor sat nicely on top of the dash (tucked against the windshield and the center mark of the dash). At that point I used a much better 3M double-side tape to stick it to the top of the dash (still there after many many years). Its barely noticable and it matches the color of my dask. You might want to lightly spray paint it to match yours (matte). For the wifi sensor, I personally placed it in the glovebox. But if you dont want it showing anywhere, you should zip-tie it to the actual radio harness, or a bracket that's easy to locate, but out of the way (that does not interfere when the unit is installed into the radio opeining). I guess you could do the same with the GPS sensor, as long as its right under the dash. Try to make sure no thick metal/plastic plates are between the GPS sensor and the dash under-surface. And try to place it so that the top surface of the GPS sensor points upwards towards the sky.
Seeing that you updated the video which radio would you recommend that we use? The 16gb or the 64 especially with the whole climate controls version situation
I think for XTRONS the 64gb version AC controls function as they should, you'll have to read the reviews. I only have first hand experience with the 16 gb and it's still functioning perfectly to this day. So if you don't want to store a lot of apps and stuff on it I would say go 16 unless you really need all the space.
Hello I have 2004 Honda Accord EX, but my duel AC factory stereo has an extra white connector harness thingy on it right next to the blue one which you talk about at 5:35. Do you know what it does and if I need to plug it into the xtrons stereo as well or something. Apparently it's called a GROM HON1M I think. Thx
@Denser Nator The GROM HON1M cable is an Auxiliary Adapter cable designed to connect another audio device to the factory Honda radio. If you have this new Android 10", then that cable becomes obsolete. I don't believe it serves any function on the new radio.
That boot sequence part he showed is only the first boot. Once the radio does the first it always comes on much faster next time. So fast that if you start the car and throw it in reverse the camera is already on the display.
I noticed your battery was still operating during installation. Would it be fine if I proceeded with the installation without disconnecting my cars battery?
Hey man know if this xtron one works with LX model of accord. All the other chinease ones from ebay said that it had no support for "accord lx". You right they practically all look the same but the difference at least in numbers is that those ones all have 1 gb of ram and this one from xtron has 2gb.
I'm pretty sure it would work, but you should contact XTRONS just to be safe. I know they said it doesn't work on European diesel models but my old STOCK radio from my EX worked after I sold it to my friend with a Canadian base model Accord. I can't imagine they're that much different.
Alright thanks. I contacted XTRON to see what they say. I did notice that on their website this same system (2gb ram 16gb storage) costs over $300 but on the link you provide for Amazon its about $237. I am assuming it is the same one but priced lower on Amazon.
@@JR-mw3gf They've updated them since my video came out, but I got mine on Amazon originally. The 2gb RAM one is cheaper but there's also a 4gb version with more storage space
The older Hondas from the 90's were easier. I had a 91 Crx. I took the factory radio out with ease and put in a Sony CD player radio with detachable face at the time.
Question, i installed my radio yesterday, everything went good, turns on, good sound everything fine, however i found my car’s battery dead this morning. Do you think it was maybe the radio? Thanks!
@@wilsoncapellan8800 Hey, I was wondering if you figured out why your stereo drains your car battery. I installed mine and everything works, but it drained my battery dead too. Any solution?
@@PoLaRIV hello body, yes i did had to change my battery for a new one, a brand new one. I guess the radio is to strong and need a good battery to work with. I changed ir and it hasn’t happen anymore.
I would think that the GPS antenna should be out in the open to get a good signal. I think it is designed to be stuck on your roof or front or back window.
Yes it comes with a harness for separate front left and right, rear left and right, and a subwoofer. So you can add 5 more speakers if you really wanted to
nice video. i watched another one which did not have as many connections-it was not Android. But i have a question about XM radio-did this unit offer SiriusXM or any XM radio feature? If so how did you deal with antenna issues? It would be nice if the gps would also handle xm signal or XM supply gps with their antennas. Anyway, did it have XM service or are the new radios not using XM? thanks
It has the option for XM which I believe requires an antenna that XTRONS sells on their website. I don't use XM radio personally, but this one does support it. I've had no problems with GPS signal, so I imagine XM will also have no problems despite needing another antenna
Thanks for the great video. You just helped me install this thing. Got everything running well. The mic is kind of weak though. Do you know what kind of mic I would need to buy that I can mount somewhere on the dash that connects to one of the connectors in the back of the device? Or do you think that maybe a USB mic would take over if I plugged it into the USB cable running from the back? (I have it coming out of the bottom compartment beneath the unit.) Also, I see "4G" marks on the back of the unit. Is there a SIM card slot somewhere that I'm not seeing? edit: ah, after a little bit of research, I see that you need a separate dongle for the SIM card.
In your video you did not talk about the differences between the the 2 amazon links you have posted the expensive one & the cheaper one, I would like to know about them have you looked at any of the bad reviews on amazon? If so do you have any comets
Mine is the cheaper versionand on my single zone AC car it's still working to this day. Some people may have a different experience depending on what model and what type of AC their car has I would imagine
How has this deck held up now that you've had it for over a year? Did you upgrade the speakers, add a sub and amps? I'm curious how these type of decks sound with a high quality setup with subs/amps? I've heard the sound just isn't as good as old school aftermarket decks when going to subs/amps....?
I didn't add any sub or amps myself, but the radio is still working perfectly for me. I haven't had any problems with it and to this day it's still functioning. I know of several people on instagram who have crazy bass systems with these types of radios. Out of the box they won't sound as good as a true aftermarket stereo, but with sub and amp they're definitely still very capable
Hi. This is a great easy to follow video. Thanks Few specific qs please: what is the exact model shown here, and can it fit right hand drive accord euros too (2007 model)? Are there specific reversing cameras for this headunit? If so, are they easy to self install too? ( want to do a video on that too??) Thanks so much.
This was the XTRONS PR18ACHL, but there is an updated model on Amazon in the description. I believe it does fit Euro Accords too but I know for a fact it just doesn't work with diesel models. And for the backup camera it's pretty much universal since it has the input for composite video cables.
Very informative the touch screen seems to have a bit of a lag on it when you swipe. just wondering what's been your experience with its performance & does it still work
When you boot it up for the very first time out of the box its kinda slow, but after that it works perfectly. I still have it and it's still working in my car, including all the AC and heat functions
When you ground the brake wire, does it allow the GPS to work, considering the stereo thinks the Ebrake is on? Just curious. Because Alpine Kenwood pioneer none of them allow you to use the GPS if you have the green wire to ground, there are easier ways with a toggle switch, use a speaker wire, or 2 wires, one end to the green and one to ground. So you can choose when its activated. Or a TR-7 You can find them on amazon. Hope it works great for you, I have put several in 3 of my friends Prius, electrocars. The Androids from China.
Yes I can use it like normal when driving with the brake wire grounded. On Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer, etc they put a special system to prevent this, but these Android radios aren't complicated enough to have that
Ebay has some lower price ones, however I would be cautious about the ones you choose. Some of them while they look the same may not function as intended
@@ScreenPrintR If yours was made by XTRONS I would try contacting their support first. If it was a different brand I would ask whoever you ordered it from, or maybe even an XTRONS harness would still work on it too.
Hello in tryin g to run the amps to this but I can not find the remote wire I know it’s should be Blue but on the rca plug there’s only a red white and yellow a black mic and an a black amp. So I ran my blue remote wire from my amps to the black amp wire and I’m not getting any thing. Please help
It's definitely better than stock, but you won't get the same quality as something like a Pioneer or Alpine unless you have an amp (it has pre-amp outputs). You can also mess around with the equalizer settings a bit too. This will wipe the floor with other head units when it comes to features, but if sound quality is your goal it could be better
The link is in the description, should be somewhere around $300. Mine is still working perfectly, and I transferred it from the 2003 Accord in the video to my current 2004. Keep in mind that while every brand of Android radio looks the same, they all function differently. I can't speak on other brands other than XTRONS, but some other cheaper ones may not function as well.
OLA, I HAVE A ACCORD TO DIESEL AND I LIKE TO BUY A RADIO OF THESE, BUT THEY TOLD ME THAT IN THE DIESEL CARS THE CLIMATE DOES NOT WORK, BUT THE RADIOS WERE MADE ONLY FOR THE GASOLINE CARS, IS IT TRUE ??
You'll have to contact XTRONS to ask about it (the model number for this is PR18ACHL) but usually they don't work in the diesel cars as far as I know. Only certain brands have them but you'll have to search around.
Does this still work? I've heard some replacements dead after a couple of months. Also can you play music through the USB? or Does it have Bluetooth? Great video. thanks.
I haven't tried playing music through USB but it does support flash drive storage, so I imagine it would also work. It does have bluetooth and it's still working to this day. In fact I have a different accord and I transferred the same radio from my old one.
More questions: I like this radio but I cannot get the wifi to work well. The bluetooth seems to work fine especially the hands free talk and BT music. But the NAVI/GPS is not all there. Maps are partially displayed. I cannot get UA-cam to work. Can you tell us if you got everything to work and how you did it? I also set time manually bc radio time would not link with wifi or GPS. To adjust adjust AC/Heat modes, you need to toggle the MODE button. Simply touching the various mode symbol does not work. They also said that this unit only waorks with a wired backup camera - not one with a wireless transmitter. I have sent them a bunch more questions but they are not good at responding. They seem to know how to make the system work so I do not understand why they do not make a detailed instruction manual for it. I will probably return/exchange this unit because I'm thinking it might be defective.
You need to install a separate GPS app and set it so when you press the navi button it redirects to the app. I used the included wifi antenna and it worked for me just fine. As for the AC I always just used mode, but yes if you can't get it to work I would recommend exchanging it
I didn't hear if u got the higher memory unit or the lower. Realistically do u need the higher memory? I'm looking into upgrading my radio but not sure if the extra money is worth the memory?

Iam looking into getting one for my accord which stereo exactly do you have cause they have 3 type ?
Mine is the cheaper version in the description with 16gb of storage space. Make sure you get one that's actually made by XTRONS because I'm not sure about the quality of other brands
Mines did it come with decoder is it have they don’t away with them in newer models ?
They might not need them anymore or possibly have them built in, but I'm not sure about the other brands besides XTRONS
Thank you very much brother, this is very helpful, by the way how much you pay for all the components in the kit.👍
It was about $300 in total when I got it. Now there are 2 versions in the description, one for $320 and one for $240

@@galoguevara6049 any recommendations on where to put it instead of where he did?
You can unlock the shifter from park with the key, or you can use the key to start your car and put it in L.
Wow so cool and looks so great. Wish you to be my neighbor. Great video 👍🏻
Thx
I think that also relates to the dual function of the climate control
@Denser Nator
The GROM HON1M cable is an Auxiliary Adapter cable designed to connect another audio device to the factory Honda radio.
If you have this new Android 10", then that cable becomes obsolete. I don't believe it serves any function on the new radio.
Have any recommendations for backup camera for this unit or any videos on how to install ?
Installing my in the next few days I’m going to run the brake wire to the ground I hope that doesn’t give me any issues !!
That boot sequence part he showed is only the first boot. Once the radio does the first it always comes on much faster next time. So fast that if you start the car and throw it in reverse the camera is already on the display.
Cool video post! Thank you.
Thank you I will order mines today
What about boot time? Like you park somewhere for an hour or two and go back into the car? Does it boot for 30 seconds or is it faster?
Probably takes like 15 seconds or so from completely off. Enough time for me to pull up songs on my phone and everything so it's not bad.
Mine doesnt completely turn off when the car turns off it kinda just goes to sleep so it starts right up when i turn the car on
I noticed your battery was still operating during installation. Would it be fine if I proceeded with the installation without disconnecting my cars battery?
Yeah I left my battery connected the whole time and I didn't have any issues

I would think that the GPS antenna should be out in the open to get a good signal. I think it is designed to be stuck on your roof or front or back window.
It gets good signal where it is, but the unit doesn't have a GPS card slot anyways so you need an app
Hi Dude, the link in your description is 4&64 and android 9.0. Another type on amazon is 2&16 android 9.0. I assume you used the later one?
Mine is the 2&16, some have reported problems with the 4&64
Great video. Is there anyway this will work with apple CarPlay?
Yes, you can get a "Carplay USB dongle" made by a variety of different brands and plug it into the USB cable on the radio
Does this have subwoofer outputs??
Nice video... wish they make similar for a Passport or Pilot
There must be lots of options for those super-popular models.
(I have it coming out of the bottom compartment beneath the unit.)
Also, I see "4G" marks on the back of the unit.
Do not pry with a screwdriver, you can already see you damaged it. You can just push from the back until it snaps..
Very good video.....excellent directions. Enjoyed it very much. Do more!
On Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer, etc they put a special system to prevent this, but these Android radios aren't complicated enough to have that
Thanks for the video. Do you have any lower cost radio install videos for the 2004 honda accord? Cars old, so I don't want to spend too much.
Ebay has some lower price ones, however I would be cautious about the ones you choose. Some of them while they look the same may not function as intended
@@NoPointOfThis123 If the radio/stereo doesn't come with a single zone harness, where can we get one for this model?
@@ScreenPrintR If yours was made by XTRONS I would try contacting their support first. If it was a different brand I would ask whoever you ordered it from, or maybe even an XTRONS harness would still work on it too.

Hello in tryin g to run the amps to this but I can not find the remote wire I know it’s should be Blue but on the rca plug there’s only a red white and yellow a black mic and an a black amp. So I ran my blue remote wire from my amps to the black amp wire and I’m not getting any thing. Please help
How's the sound quality. I'm thinking about buying this for my 2006 accord. I don't want to be disappointed with the sound quality.
Okay cool. I can live with that. If need be, I can change the speakers. Thanks for the response.
Hi there. Thinking of purchasing this for 2005 Accord. How much did it cost and is it good quality? I've read some bad reviews here and there.
Just bought a 07 accord with this in it guy said it wasn't hooked up to the speakers right would that brake wire be the issue?
@@NoPointOfThis123 thanks bro
FiNi Garcia did you find out?
Do I need to disconnect the car battery before doing this? Thank you
Does this still work?
As for the AC I always just used mode, but yes if you can't get it to work I would recommend exchanging it
Video Well Done.
Good job
I didn't hear if u got the higher memory unit or the lower. Realistically do u need the higher memory? I'm looking into upgrading my radio but not sure if the extra money is worth the memory?
Mine is 16gb. And I personally don't need the extra storage because I just use Bluetooth for music instead of storing music in the head unit.
Why can't they make a nice double DIN kit that has the HVAC controls BELOW the screen like this instead of above it?
Very useful video. I liked, but it is too complicated for me to perform.
I see the differences on the cheaper and expensive model but what’s actually different?
Pretty sure just storage space and ram
