As someone who has needed orthotics for playing ball as they have gotten older, having a drop in midsole that can fit an orthotic is a game changer for sure! Kobe 8s and 9s will have to stick to gym shoes 😢
This is the kind of innovation we've been owed 10 years ago. Shoutout to SPO. Hoping for more colorways. Love those black ones but the orange outsole is throwing me off😂
Finally a review on these!!! Had my eyes on these for the past few months after an initial reveal/review by a local youtuber, and I love drop ins so I'm glad there's a "new" way to enjoy drop ins! Hope to grab a pair soon! Thanks again for the review and for answering the QOTD of mine!
This is crazy!!! Wow!!! The fact that the drop-in system spans through all the models they’ve released is incredible. This implementation is interesting too. U’m digging the overall design of the shoes too….especially the brown ones! As for the question of the day…..hmmmmm….it might be Disney world. That international food tour they have is fantastic! Plus….they still have the Tower of Terror. Also…i could sneak over to universal and go on one of my fav rides…Hagrid’s motorbike adventure. 😊 I do understand Chris’ trepidations…..black ice is noooooo joke!! I’ve never experienced it while driving but I have fallen victim to it walking in the parking lot of a target in buffalo NY…..in January. Coincidentally, i went to Niagara Falls….and missed the falls being completely frozen over and completely iced by a week.
I actually really love the look of these retro vibes are abound. But I can’t pay $170.00 - $180.00 for these though, if you want an extra insole that costs another $44.00.
Those wheat leather joints and the all white ones are super fly imo - I’d take my family to the Swiss Alpes for Christmas go skiing and shit but they might be closed for that 😂
It’s an interesting concept however I don’t think it’s a main stream tech that will catch on. Adidas had shoes in the 80’s that you could change “columns” in the midsole with different density inserts for various needs, again, interesting but not something that will go mainstream. It may be a really cool feature when you initially get the shoe, eventually the novelty will wear off and people won’t use the system the way it is intended to benefit the consumer…….it’ll be a beneficial system that just won’t get used.
As someone that lives in OC and is a cast member, Disney is always fun. You can hate the movies and their views but the actual park is fun. Especially Star Wars land. That area is amazing
Co sign about Disney Parks. A couple of years ago I went to Disney World with family a few weeks before Christmas and we had such a great time staying at the Polynesian. I loved that hotel since I was a kid and now my niece loved it. The Christmas decorations were so nice. Just wish it were less expensive, lol.
I always wanted to experience the Aussie version of Christmas. In Australia it's hot during Xmas and virtually everyone goes to the beach on Xmas day. I'm not a beach person (and I'm even less of a Christmas person) but I think it would be cool AF to be partying on the beach for Christmas.
I like that they can use the supercritical insole in the other SPO shoes so now you can use an orthotic in all the serious player only shoes, i hope they start selling that insole separately so people can experiment with different setups
These look surprisingly good, I am seriously considering grabbing a pair. I'm amazed that Nike, or one of the other "big" companies couldn't grasp this concept. As for where I'd like to go, Colorado and New Mexico are so dope to see when there's a light snow on the ground.
The concept for the Easy 1 is pretty cool. IMO, this feels like this is what the Book 1 could've been, with the design being meant for on and off the court purposes.
Facts going to Disneyland Dec 20th. Best place for the holidays. The Grand California is absolutely epic but the best Disney Parks are in JAPAN sooooo GOOD!
As someone who lives with snow for nearly 6 months of the year, I'll happily go anywhere that doesn't have it for the holidays. White Christmases are pretty and everything but shovelling the damned stuff is hard work. Disneyland would be ideal, Disneyworld would be acceptable as well. I don't want to hot, but warm would be nice.
QOTD: I’d love to spend Christmas in the southern hemisphere one year, so I can see Santa in the summertime. I agree that it’s nice to see SPO pick up the ball that the big brands dropped and create a drop-in midsole “system” across their product line. I want to see Nike make something like this work because, in my opinion, despite all their faults they still have the two best cushioning technologies on the market today, ZoomX and Zoom Air (and that ignores other choices they offer that come close). In the meantime, I like how SPO has implemented this idea. Thanks for the review! I’ll see you all soon.
Take it from someone that has lived his entire life in Colorado, snow is so overrated. It sucks. If I make it to an age to retire and move, I'm moving to Phoenix or San Diego in a heartbeat.
Love the idea of orthotics-compatible drop-ins Hate the idea of encouraging people to contaminate (often times already dusty) indoor courts by wearing the same pair of hoop shoes indoors and casually outdoors 😤
I'm gonna wait on another premium material colorway (all black in leather???). Worried about suede getting wet and destroyed by the snow up here in Michigan.
I recently bought a Kobe 8 protro and I don't like the insole bcuz they stick to my socks making them uncomfortable putting my feet in, I prefer to wear the 8s casually, so what insole can I wear for more comfort?
Man I love the move insoles in terms of structure and comfort, but my feet slip over the tops of their insoles. wish there was a bit more friction to the top layer of their insoles
I mean its a cool concept just kinda feels unnecessary. I've never had an issue wearing any shoe to ball or just chill. So yeah definitely seems like a gimmick. Also don't like the look of the shoe really at all. Its basically just a mediocre skate shoe u can ball in. Not seeing the appeal.
All three cws are 👍🏼. The wheat one gives off wheat 13 vibes, the black/white one, old school DC’s & the all white one, pro keds vibes. Spent many Christmases/New Years in the Philippines. We’d leave after Thanksgiving & come back after New Years. In elementary, thanksgiving & winter break would be Ike long vacation so, that was super dope. In middle school, thanksgiving break turned into one week & winter break turned into two weeks. When we’d go to the Philippines, my teachers would print out/assign work for me to do while on vacation so, I wouldn’t fall behind. Some of the most 😊 holiday memories I have. 👍🏼
@@jasonhansen9 I can get what you are saying. But growing up in the 90s and 00s... you had the choice to rock with gear or hoop with the sneakers. I miss that choice lol

It’s a very cool concept. I’m glad somebody picked up the ball Nike dropped. Imagine zoom air in any Nike shoe.
That SPO managed to develop a new system and yet still keep it compatible with their prior models is amazing dedication! 👏👏👏

This company's products are really well thought out.

I cant wait to pick up my pair! Thanks for the reviews
these pulled off the casual/performance shoe hybrid concept so much better than the Book 1s. you love to see it from a new brand like SPO.
Going to “the snow” is a California-ism I learned of after moving there.

Come to Canada you’ll experience snow !! 😂😂
Chris' traumatic snow stories had lol'ing
They remind me of Airwalk skater shoes back in the day.

I would choose somewhere in the Alps. Like an old school castle in the mountains. Full on Disney “do you wanna build a snowman!”
This is the definition of being accomodating to their buyers

Reminds me of the reebok rafters and the converse chuck taylor 2000s
Early 2000's skate vibes coming in and I'm about to purchase a damn pair for the nostalgia it gives me.
Damm your snow experiences are WILD 🤯
Awesome review as always. This is an interesting shoe.
Gotta visit Utah if you want great snow!

That one colorway reminds me of Simple brand shoes back in the day
This shoe looks great. I can’t wait for my order to arrive.
I like these, looks like a good casual sneaker.
Yeah these are dope! The tech alone is top tier
The wheat one is really cool; love the funkiness of the toe area. Bit iffy on the slogan part though.
Either a Disney Park or a ski trip in the Rockys or the Alps.
The wheat ones look pretty cool.
Willing to try this one
You can eat the middle of a pineapple 😂😂. 28 years been eating the middle.
As for the shoe. I can’t tell if it’s weird or an epic skate silhouette
The consistency on the drop in system is awesome tho!
That's a similar system to the Jordan 2011's AKA D-Wades. Even the naming is similar.
Ain’t no way in hell you catch me hooping in those nursing home shoes.
With 1.2k views in you channel, i'm not sure you get revenue to afford these. Wait, you can't. But hey, keep those garbage mixtapes coming
I definitely saw these and thought “ok here’s the lifestyle shoe”. Man was I wrong
Best thing about these is the toe part aint pointed like jas, kds, sabrinas and brons👍

No one has problems wearing Jordan’s off court, lol, or a lot of shoes
I may actually grab these.
I want to stay at the Biltmore during Christmas season
Damn, that’s cool. Will the big brands will ever do it? Never. If they do, they’ll charge you $225 at least.
Are these compatible with kobe’s?
Tahoe is amazing
SPO is on 🔥
Can anyone share their experiences with SPO drop in midsoles in the Kobe 8 protro please. Many thanks
I'm definitely going to try these. These other brands definitely aren't keeping up

Love the concept of the shoes, but not feeling the aesthetics. QOTD: I’d be on a beach!!! Christmas in Hawaii baby!
The only downside is that they are not selling in the Philippines. They dont know how huge of a market here.
Just wondering if one of these midsoles would fit in a J1 high? Are they to thick?
The black and white one looks like a basketball to me
The flop comment in the review reminded me of a Dave Portnoy pizza review lol
They forget that shoes perform better when you feel good in them and swaggy. Unfortunately these ugly af
Any idea when the Move Baseline Insoles drop?
Very soon.
Man I love the move insoles in terms of structure and comfort, but my feet slip over the tops of their insoles. wish there was a bit more friction to the top layer of their insoles
They remind me of that old Jordan brand shoe, I can’t remember the name.
Lt. Cmdr. Ron Hunter Sighting!!! Ex-O Alert!!!

Interesting concept, even a shoe look is not my cup of tea

The orthotic ready midsole is the key aspect of the shoe. Seems to have gone over some people’s heads.

The independent and overseas shoe makers are changing the game. The fat cats have been too arrogant for far too long.
HOLIDAY QUESTION for the both of you: What is the one time where you truly believe Santa (or a higher power) truly answered your wishes/prayers?

Great shoe design... Great video 😊
It's wild that SPO is here delivering on the promises Nike made in 2010 🥹

Sorry I don’t get the appeal of a shoe like this. I would rather just use a shoe for balling and another shoe for casual.

Another banger from SPO
You know what would be crazy? If they made drop ins for “other” shoes as well.
That practice clip was gold btw 😂
Yeah those look TERRIBLE 🤮
The drop in is awesome nonetheless.
Serious Player Only beating the competition
they look cool ,kinda like chuck taylors

Awesome tech. Not a good lookin shoe.
These are far from appealing to my 4 eyes.
