You can super easily find the PC ports of the first two games online if you wanna try it out. Halo 1 is comically easy, because all you need to do is get the installer and look up Halo 1 CD keys on Google images
or just get the master chief collection. you can even switch between retro look and cosidering how much game you get the price is fair and from time to time on sale. but im pretty much the same. never really cared that much for halo and im curious about it.
My favorite part was the description of the Jackals. That was funny. CE is definitely really fun, but since it’s the first in the series and it shaped modern shooters it feels a bit dated. Sadly it lacks hijacking, duel wielding, swapping weapons with marines, and the Flood isn’t fun when it’s the only enemy. This is definitely one of my favorite games.

Excellent video. I'm of the demographic that never touched a Halo game because I never had an XBOX growing up. I've been thinking about giving the Master Chief collection a try from Game Pass, and I think I will after this video. Good to see you back man!
As recently haven played through the campaign on mythic difficulty on my stream. Ya its a rough game but certainly has some flavorful quirks. Such as the plasma rifle increasing fire rate but misfires below 10% charge. The needler, Shotgun, grenades and assault rifle at their strongest point in the series. The friendly AI is just "Hey boys. By boys." any time they show up. The biggest thing I felt with having played a Halo 2, and halo 3 in the past at a friends house and Halo reach in the master chief collection on steam is the precision weapons absence is felt noticeable. The pistol was not enough to cover that absence to me. Felt to short range. In certain sections just felt painful with it missing. Might have been feeling the rough corners that were ironed out in latter installments to be honest. Also felt like the ghost and warthog is the only nice controlling vehicles in the game.
