Something that's good to know against Xeno is its chest in crit state is a great weakpoint and if you smack it enough you can cause it flinch and possibly drop

Xeno is my favorite fight in the whole game! The first time I fought it I was sitting with a whole table of friends, even some who don't know jack about this game, cheering me on while I fought it! I've got a ton of hunts under my belt now (five gems "a ton of hunts") and it remains my favorite even as I get into Iceborne.

Also I believe Xeno takes twice as much poison damage as other monsters.
Makes sense, its body is overflowing with bioenergy so its metabolism is on hyperdrive. The slightest poison is gonna rip right through it.

First time I fought this guy, had a HBG. Ran COMPLETELY out of ammo and no Farcaster to restock. I had to quit the hunt after wasting SO many resources on it, really hurt.

Something I noticed you could do in this fight is if you wanna go back to camp mid fight, and you haven't reached the 2nd half of the battle, there is a small window where you could fast travel back to camp before the game automatically transports you to the 2nd area

i might add you can mount the thing you either have to get really high with the Insect Glaive or jump of one of the crystal pillars
The Temporal Mantle didn't exist to me until Fatalis.
Xeno is also a beast if you're a Greatsword Main.

I hate to "but actually" here but you can mount Xeno'Jiiva. There are few jumping spots but there are some that can be used to mount the monster but they are there both in the first and second stage. It even has a drum variant theme for when it's mounted.
Unless it's the tempered one it might not be mountable I haven't seen it.
