- Video was made after 3,000 miles tested. Motocraft 2150 or 2100 direct bolt on carb from eBay or Amazon is a well designed well built carb. Many if not all parts directly swap to the OEM 2150. Stock jet size is a 48 and is perfect for a 351m in a 1978 ford bronco. Motocraft jets are interchangeable. Great carb for testing, cruising, and off-roading.

New subscriber! Jist picked up an old beater 1980 F150 custom with a 5.8l 351! It has a 2150 carb! Glad I found your channel, keep up the good work!
Thanks for the sub!
Looking forward to the trail vid🤘🏻
I bought one a couple of years ago for a 79 F250 with 400. Absolutely flawless right out of the box.
Glad you hear you had a similar experience. Thanks for the comment
Doing a fine job with the video. I appreciate the info 66 f100 with a 79 f100 302
Thanks for the comment. Leave a comment on any of my videos and you’ll get a response. Love helping people with troubleshooting.
I put an $18 Amazon carb on an 85 atc 200s and it fired up and runs. I don't know how long it will last, but so far so good. 👍
Good video, subscribed!
Awesome, thank you!
I just put one on my farm truck, an F350 with a 351 windsor and a bucket crane on the back from 1983. I didn't even have to tune it, the vacuum pull off was jankie and needed some help, a little teflon tape and a new bolt, all good
Glad it’s working for you. Is the truck the same year as the crane?
I have ran mine for over 4 years never a Problem.
Thanks for the comment man. I’m glad to hear you like it
Great video thank you I had a Holly 350 I ran for years and loved it great power all throughout the range sorry I sold it for a 4bbl now prices new are ridiculous I paid 175 new now the same carb is 449.
Im looking at the Holly knock off on e bay 229.00 I changed to a 600 4 bbl and i actually wasn't wowed😮 by it my but Dyno says vey little gain .
I needed a 4 SPD for the high speed kickdown since a 3 spd auto will not kickdown over 50 mph but a 4 SPD will giving you 4th to 3rd kickdown I installed a Gear vendor and could had kept the 2bbl.
My c6 will kick down at 30mph but I’m running 4.56 gears. Glad you enjoyed the video I appreciate the comment
I'm looking at one of these for my 327 Jeep Gladiator. Just afraid they were junk. I'll give it a try now. Great video
Thanks for the comment I really like these carbs
My 74 AMC Matador OEM carb is a 2150. I bought this carb for it. Only issue was the trans kick down is different. Otherwise found it a great deal.
I am looking at getting one for my '72 Ambassador with the 2100 carb. I don't want to spend spend any more money on the 2 barrel system while searching for a 4 barrel intake.
I bought a truck that had one on it when I got it. They never could get it to run right. It had a dead spot off idle. I took it off and got to looking at it and the linkage wasn't made right. It wouldn't pull the accelerator pump arm. I had to spot weld it to the throttle shaft to get it to work. So its very hit and miss with those carbs.
There must be different companies making the same carbs. Mine is spot on. Yet, I’ve seen others that are terrible. Oh yeah.
What camera 📷 are you using? Excellent quality I can count hairs in your beard @ stop motion... good video
Just using an phone 13 mini but I’m using a selfie stick and the rear facing camera. Really helps control camera. Thanks for the comment and watching I appreciate it.
My 71 sat for 35 years. Bolted one up and it immediately idled.
I’m glad to hear that! Just have to keep the mice out of them now!
I put one on a 79 351m. Idled great. Ran like crap. Found it has 48 jets. My original carb has 54. Can't swap them because the threads are different. Thanks, China. Can't find 54 jets in 5/16-24 thread. Had to leave it alone. The biggest problem though was that float setting was WAAAAY low. Super low. I bent it up to roughly match the setting on the original and it runs fairly well. Still not right but driveable. I would NOT buy one of these again. Re-jetting is impossible.
A good tip is you can get mini drill bits for furnace repair and drill your jets out. Thanks for the comment
Just put one of these on a 400 in my 71 galaxie 500 2drHT, its overflowing pretty bad. Motor only has 17k on it and before it started overflowing it seemed to be running great
Float issue or pump issue maybe?
Have had my fair share of old fords. If its got close to 100,000 miles, a new timing chain and gearset will generally make them more happy also. Double roller more better. Not hard to install at all. Stock they have nylon gears, no bueno
New stuff sitting on the shelf just need to find time to install. Thanks for watching!
with an adapter plate i was even put one on my chevy lol!
Be careful saying that! The Chevy crowd might be coming after you for that 😂
The problem I had with one of them carburetor is the power valve was leaking
Iv hear that from a few reviews. Was it an air leak or fuel leak?
So ii bought one for my 2.8 liter v6 and I could not get it to come off 1500 rpms you have any ideas
I’d start with making sure the lower butterfly’s are closed completely, make sure there are no leaks in the base gasket, ensure your fuel pump isn’t over pressurized the carb spilling fuel over, check float height. Another good tip would be to take the carb off and make sure everything is tight. If something is loose fuel can bleed past and make it rev up. Let me know if you need more help. Thanks for watching.
Do you know where to get the right starter bolts for this motor?
Any hardware store will have them they are just standard 1/2” or 3/8 I can’t remember sorry.
I don't do Amazon, are the ones sold on Ebay the same?...I assume they are?
Truthfully could not tell you. Iv heard from many that eBay ones don’t match up parts with original 2150. I understand not wanting to mess with Amazon but for this carb I’d say it’s worth the time/hassle
90 percent of all carburetor problems is in the ignition system!!!!!! One time I had a 78 f150 that idled great but didn't have any power and took the top of the carb off pulled out the float and a speck of dirt was laying on a jet removed that put back together and truck ran great!!!!
I wish I had more people in my life to tell me wisdom like you! Grew up working on tractors and ignition system is rarely tuned or worked on. These classic v8 trucks is a completely different world.
Good luck with that , it’s been my experience putting a 4 barrel on a 2 barrel motor it will not live long.
Funny you say that cuz it blew up on 50 miles 😂 smoked a lifter
@@Notafordguy you probably fired it up and 30sec later raved it and kicking the 4 in . Then going for a test run and kicking it first thing. I’m probably not far off 🤷♂️.
@@Notafordguy did hurt the motor it self. They rebuild nicely.
No real damage. The problem was actually the ignition box failed. I found two smoked lifters. Truck is back on the road and running great.
What mpg did it get
10.1 mpg thanks for the comment
Only shit parts I have gotten so far between eBay and Amazon is suspension. Everything thing else has worked like new
I try to stay away from Chinese but sometimes you can find a diamond in the rough. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate it.
😂 how's the cam chain
I think I have about 2.5 degrees of stretch. I measured by moving crake back and forth and watching rotor in distributor. Think I’ll be ok? I have a new one on the shelf.
If you don't know what a Double Pumper is, you probably have no business offering advice on carburators. The carburators you described as double pumpers in your video are not double pumpers. A double pumper refers to the dual accelerator pumps on a Holley or Holley variant.
Yeah I was under the impression they were at a glance but you are correct. Single accelerator pump. I’m definitely new to the carburetor world. Really just trying to share my experiences.
@@Notafordguy Glad to see your experience with the carb and really liked the quality of the video. Keep it up...
I have bought 4 of these pieces of junk and they have of a problem of sucking air through the bottom
Through the bottom gasket?
Through the bottom gasket?
Screw Amazon, nope, not buying any Chinese crap
Trust me I try to Avoid it at all costs. I have since switched to a summer 600 carb. Just nice to find a Chinese part that’s not completely crap.
Well then don't buy a Holley, or a Demon, or anything that is not old or an Edelbrock! Because all most everything is made in China these days!
@@Notafordguy How do you like the Summit carb? Is it annular discharge primaries? And what are your thoughts? Thanks in advance.
@@Driven_Dragon I've got two summit carbs, one I've had for 10 years and they run better with better MPG than the holley carbs I ran on the same engines and I spent a lot of time tuning both the Holley and Summit carbs.
It was pretty good out of the box but I don’t think I can give a good recommendation until I have a few thousand miles. Definitely way more power!
