Do you cut through the plastic and into the loaf? Or just through the plastic?

Mine had about 6 layers of plastic and a pad that perhaps is a moisture removal pad? I cut the X through the multiple layers and through the moisture pad but then the multiple layers of plastic flaps was too much for any water to possibly reach... So I cut off about 4 layers of the plastic... Very confusing and nothing like what is shown in this video 😳
That is confusing. Ours is just a bag with substrate in it in a box. Once the front is cut open, you should only have to go through one layer of plastic. It could have been the case that the flap of the top of the bag was folded around to the front! If you send us an email at info@northspore.com, we'll remedy the situation, I promise!
Can you take them out the box? Or is recommended to keep the substrate in the box
We suggest keeping the substrates in their boxes until they are ready to be used.
Hi! So my mushroom kit is not really growing from the X cut, it’s like growing inside the box so there is like white things inside of it. Should I remove them or leave them in the box?

Can we use liquid culture on these to grow mycelium?
Hello! Our fruiting block kits are fully colonized with mycelium, so I wouldn't recommend injecting them with liquid culture. With that being said, we do have all-in-one grow bags that are meant to be injected with any dung-loving mushroom species you desire. Do you need to sanitize the knife with anything before cutting into the bag?
It would definitely be a good moved to use a very clean knife. Wiping it down with 70% iso is the way.

What if I didn’t get a box with it ? Do I tear off that vent on the bag?

This isn't really how it works. This kit is already fully colonized with a species. What you want is out sterilized grain bag with injection port: northspore.com/products/sterilized-grain-bags-with-injection-ports-3lbs

Nope, but they can give you 2-4 flushes (crops) if cared for properly.

Ya, I hope you did! They can rebound outside when the box and bag are taken off and they're left in the shade.

Pink oyster gets stinky. Harvest young and use quickly.
