I love hearing great life changing stories like this. I want to become a mycologist because honestly mushrooms are the best form of medicine (most especially the psychedelic ones) There are so many people today used magic mushrooms to ween off of SSRI medication- its amazing! Years back i wrote an entire essay about psychedelics. they saved you from death buddy, lets be honest here.
Hey mates! Can you help with the source? I suffer severe anxiety, panic and depression and I usually take prescription medicine, but they don't always help. Where can I find those psilocybin mushrooms? I'm really interested in treating my mental health without Rxs. I live in Australia don't know much about these. I'm so glad they helped you. I can't wait to get them too. Really need a reliable source 🙏
I'm so very happy for you mate, Psilocybin is absolutely amazing, the way it shows you things, the way it teaches you things. I can not believe our world and our people shows less interest about it's helpfulness to humanity. It's love. The mushrooms heals people by showing the truth, it would be so beneficial for so many people, especially politicians and the rich who have lost their way and every other persons out there.
Alessandro deserves a nobel prize. but like a better version that signifies a global paradigm shift into this level of conscious care for each other and our environments
Very interesting notes (for myself to remember) from this video: Soaking shiitake log for 24 hours and banging it shocks it into fruiting as it mimicks a tree falling on it, which is a perfect opportunity to start releasing spores. Perennial crops are crops which unlike annual crops, grow every year without replanting, as long as they have access to nutrients and right habitat. Oyster mushrooms can be perennial and this video shows a method of achieving this. By adding used up oyster mushroom substrate into fresh material (like straw) it should produce again a few times using it.

Great video, lots of good info there, thank you for making and posting it. I have a few questions that I was hoping you could answer please :) Which times of year are best to sow and harvest these species of mushroom? Which climates do they prefer and disagree with? I live in tropical Australia so am concerned that they won't be suitable for a fair portion of the year.
I think it would be of high value to you to get a book on mushrooms because mushrooms are not plants. The questions asked seem to me you have no idea how mushrooms work or where they are found. Also your questions you have can all easily be answered via question chat ai
you look so much like a friend of mine who died 6 years ago. i honestly keep watching just because it reminds me of him. also, very good gardening tips. just bought a house, so might finally start to use some of the knowledge :)
I’ve got mucho appreciation for this channel. 😊 Any method is challenging for an outdoor tropical environment. It never gets cool enough. It’s been my experience growing/fruiting that It seems most mushrooms need a controlled envasement or space. I don’t want to give up yet.
Mushrooms do grow in tropical rainforest. However, they are kept cool by many layers of trees and shrubs above and around them, which also help to make a moist habitat. So maybe you will have to mimic that natural habitat in your garden to grow mushrooms outdoor. In other words, turning your garden into a forest with multi layers of trees, shrubs and plants is probably the way.
When your local council comes round to cut the grass back, I’ll pop out and collect it up, generally folk aren’t going to mind if you’re there raking up the grass clippings. I’ll source cardboard, tissue, along with all food scraps, it’s an annual process and the garden generally appreciates it. I’ll be developing an outer bed with shelter for mushrooms, so as you can imagine, it’s always a great resource to see our fellow gardeners grow 😊👍
OOOOOO! I will be growing mushrooms this year, Blue Oyster and wine caps. I am so excited to have mushrooms. I like to powder mushrooms i put it in everything.

Good to see you're vidding mushrooms, my favorite food. Paul Stamets has some videos on you tube. He's an authority on mushrooms and has many, many stories and mui mucho information. Nutritional, Medicinal and spiritual mushrooms are at the top. Lions Mane is my favorite. I read recently in order to retain all benefits of shrooms that they should not be fried/sauteed only boiled or micro waved. (???)
Look..out 👆👆👆 for the handle above he got shrooms, LSD, iboga, ketamines, c😇ke, cannabis, psych, meds, DMT trips, acid chocolate 🍫 bars, and he ships!!!!
It doesn't have to take that long. This is the main Con of growing mushrooms on logs. It takes time for the mycelium to fully colonize hardwood. But the Pros are once you have sealed your dowels in the log you just put it somewhere in the shade and kind of forget about it. If there is a drought just check if the weight has subsantially decreased which would mean you need to soak it or water it. Another Pro is that you will get mushrooms for many years before the log gets fully digested. Last week I actually plugged Lion's Mane innoculated dowels in a couple of logs. If I'm lucky I might get mushrooms this fall but I will most likely have my first harvest in fall of 2024. As far as shiitakes are concerned, I think you can grow them in a couple of weeks in bags. Here is a FreshCap Mushrooms video if you want to know more : ua-cam.com/video/ghNwnXYfsLI/v-deo.html
@@lejardinierjardine8518 I did not know any of that, if you know could you use smaller logs/large branches and shorten the dowels/plugs accordingly for kinda like a somewhat faster and still have some length of steady supply?
@@rickytorres9089 Yes, somewhat. You can use smaller logs and, as you said, they will get colonized faster but also give you harvest for a shorter period of time. Now I said somewhat because I don't know what is the lowest size limit for logs to grow shiitake or other mushrooms you would usually use dowels for. What I do know is that other fungi are usually responsable for the decomposition of twigs and smaller branches.
I would like to know if materials like mulch and straw need to be sterilized before use? Because I took a class about mushrooms couple years ago and the guy put his straw in a barrel with lime to sterilized it.
Around my property here in western Maryland lions main grows in abundance wild of course 99% of all trees here are oak. Here in Green ridge State forest are probably 50 miles of dirt roads you can find a laundry basket full in a few hours driving and not getting out of the vehicle except to pluck them from a trees
