- We’re taking you back in time to when Jamie celebrated turning 30 with a road trip through Italy. Here he is in Lazio where a stay with the local monks ended in him having to cater for an extremely important guest. But were his cherry and peach tarts with frangipane filling inspired? Jamie can only pray for a miracle.
If you like seeing a baby faced Jamie let us know and we'll dig out some more never-seen-before crackers to share with you.

Jamie is still just as humble now as he was then. Great video.
I love how Jamie is all glowing at being told it's wonderful and the priest next to him is just wolfing down his piece of tart XD
Vintage Jamie! Love it! :)
***** Have you gone back to some of these places in Italy that you visited?
+Jamie Oliver mmm looks delicious, what is the temperature/duration of the baking?
lazaraza I'm sure you bake it the same as his Fig Almond Tart on his website...180 deg.C 40-50 minutes!

This why I love you Jamie!!! You have never changed, I've watched you for years. I remember watching episodes from your Italy trip. Also the good old times, when your wife use to be behind the camera (you making midnight snack/breakfast for her friends after a night out). Best wishes 😘 from an Australian fan
So cool to be able to tour Italy and cook for so many!
It's cool seeing young Jamie, brings me back to my childhood watching all his shows on TV.
Did someone ever tell you how awesome you are????? And a great mentor? And a great chef??? And just so Fricken awesome! Great video, and I loved your authenticity, it's so down to earth! So awesome!
Please share more of these, Jamie! You had some incredible experiences, and it's so interesting to get to see what you were able to cook and eat whilst in Italy.
I can't even imagine how outstanding your life is, doing the thing you love with food and fun.. and going to all those amazing places. That's awesome.
I loved this series watch it all the time!
i'm from italy ( Emilia Romagna ) and i loved all the episodes, maybe cause i also understand both languages 😊 it's hard to choose a single favorite italian food but I love my grannies tortelli di patate with mushrooms and erbazzone and of course pizza 😊
I love these unseen clips as I've re watched the series so many times!
Loved this video - how blessed were you, Jamie, to spend time with the monks. I'm sure they felt happy too, when they tasted your cooking! :) TFS.

Brilliant as always Jamie! That's why we love you. xxx
Goodness, you took me back in time. I used to live and work in a monastery for seven years. I can taste the tartness and sweetness of the cherries.

Very best trip of Italy. Thank you ***** by making people remember that your adventure and share with us.
i was previously notified of monks and liquids and/or sauce ingrediants these monks are involved with .. ... recent conversations have taken place with regard to discipline preparation and learned trained and family and personal sharing of techniques
( one + recent that possibly would have wanted to receive this food tube share and with and from the people suggested involved) however she and her affiliate + are not to my knowledge participants with google+ and it isn't possible to proceed with these foods and recipe conversations with her because she insists on emphasizing that people will know that she is not Mexican she is Castilian at one explanation and a daddy's girl at another explanation .. ....
oh don't get me wrong i the person of the united states have a traditional calendar day as father(s) day and I have one father my dad oh okay daddy my father oh dan it is taking to long to convey my note to you all and the others involved and affiliated with the food tube and we aren't even on the recipe that i would select to discuss or share
vera nice
Sweet!
Awesome ... loved the smiles on the brother's face and the vatican rep. Something about almond tarts is just great
Saga Poetic bayewell tart
Mamie, what is bayewell tart?
Love the monk at the end. He starts out eating the pastry with a fork then he decides that it’s too good so he abandons the fork and uses his hands

I love jamie!

Well no doubt about it now... Jamie has his place in the heavens secured ...
seeing ppl praise your cooking is just an adrenaline rush. no wonder monica gellar wanted to be a chef, hehe ^^
could you do the same thing with hazelnuts instead of almonds?
Very likely.
Nice to see you in the Church and cooking for the Vatican! Thanks for not being ashamed of the Christian faith x
He's a jew!!!
Like the monk at the end,so good he had to ditch the fork.
jamie you ever returned to the monastery?
haha ***** : "Mia molto contenta" :) I think I became better cook watching your videos... food tube is awesome... I don't think I will ever become a baker though :) Need to eat healthy and avoid all the sugars and butter... maybe in a couple of years :) But it looks delicious.. and I would be super nervous to cook for such an eminence as well... I am nervous already cooking for a girl :)
He has a cute Italian accent 😂
Atleast give us a time and temperature..

www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/fruit-recipes/almond-tart-with-figs/
Written recipe?? Seems he adds more almond in the end...
I have 2 ideas for you 1 minute tips.
How to tell if an advocado or garlic have gone bad
That's almost like "Rapska torta". One of the oldest written recipes in Croatian from the 12 th century. Btw. frangipani or Frankopans are one of the most prominent Croatian Nobility and once called shield or protector of Europe!
Up till now, I still don't know who is Jamie talking to when he's cooking in all of his cooking show.
That secretary guy should be honored of meeting Jamie Oliver, not the other way around...
Do you know who this Felicitas Pizarro is? She is using some one that looks similar to you that when introduced as "Jaime" he says that he is Jake. I might be wrong, but you and "jake" are similar, but I do not believe you are the same.
I dont think those are monks… i think theyre roman catholic brothers judging from the cross and jesus monument
Albertus Danarto Susanto ...in other words, they're monks.
"this table is one of the oldest things in the world"
Really? Was the table formed in a volcano 2 billion years ago? Because if so I'm very impressed with the volcano's woodsmanship, someone should hire it to whittle ducks or thistles or maybe a giant salmon.
XOlleyX Hahaha, this comment is gold.
Monks drinking alcohol tf
Damn it. Why do you deliceous desserts always have to be loaded with fats and sugar
darksoul1381 It's all about portion control :) Share it with a lot of friends and enjoy together :)
MrsTammyTami I'd say frequency. I don't eat it often, but when I do, I don't half-ass it and enjoy it to the fullest.
Same with cooking. Just use f.e. all the sugar a dish needs, real butter and cheese if needed or else go for one of the many great healthier dishes.
Well with the almonds and cherries I don't think you have to feel too guilty.
Eating that is a sin! Peccatori!
