This is a great idea to include other techs in these videos. It's refreshing to hear from some of the others in the shop and it made this a very enjoyable video.
I like just the wizard
It's like Warren Buffet. The guy is 90 years old and yet he acts like he's the one who's doing the research when he goes to his yearly investor relation group to give speeches. Get that old man off the state and let his advisers do the talking.
This is why I think it's cool for the Wizard to let other people go on Camera.

Not that the car wizard is not an expert himself.
Daniel is the Wizard's secret Ferrari weapon. He knows these cars so well, it's saving him hours of effort and improving it beyond stock
He seems to have an insane amount of knowledge with Ferraris despite being so young. Impressive.

Awesome to see a young guy like Danielson that is so knowledgeable, competent, and clearly passionate about what he works on! Rare to find these days. I wish I could find someone as good as any of the Omega techs

I would recommend retaining the fan switch, most OEM installations will do this, as if your temp sensor dies, you don't lose all fan control.
Just set the ECM fail condition to run the fans 100% when the temp sensor goes outside a sensible range.
Quite possibly the coolest alloy wheels ever. Simple but unmistakably Ferrari 308.

Daniel seems to love this car as much as Wizard and Mrs. Wizard. Then again, he seems to like to take apart Ferrari to fix them properly, like we saw on Hoovie's first vid of his new Ferrari. Pretty cool all that tech on this car.

I have no doubt that the 308 will be fantastic when it's on the road again. One thing I really want to see is that front spoiler repaired. The rest of the body looks okay (in spite of what Tavarish did with it) although it no doubt could do with a full detail.
The guy with the hat really seems to know his stuff. Hopefully he gets a bonus or some PTO for appearing in these videos.

That engine has alternate engine mounts for use in the Lancia Thema 8.32, a car not sold in the United States that shared its FWD chassis with the Saab 9000 sedan.
The first year Lancia used that Ferrari engine was 1986, I don't think those mounts are related to it.
@@cencio_1976 I cannot think why else there would be alternate engine mounts. Any idea?
Love the upgrades and improvements you are doing to 308. Will make it much more reliable and perform better. Since is not a concour restoration no need to keep everything original

This is the best Wizard video in a long time! More doing stuff and less ranting, this is much appreciated. Daniel needs more screen time, he seems like a deep well of information. The channel should show more wrenching, showing process and discussion. This is the start of a good direction!!

Every owner of a properly preserved or restored 308GTB is happy you are doing these mods to your car. It makes their cars that much more valuable and desirable.
Also had to chuckle at 3:16. Nothing says ham-and-egg more than a 99 cent hardware store brass throttle cable stop on your Ferrari. Just wow.

Please do an in-depth ‘reveal’ once it’s done, full walk through, driving action shots, sounds the whole deal. Love seeing this car getting reborn! Would love to see and hear it on a track for safe full throttle blasts!
Yes, I agree when it's time to repair CV boots, do it this way. I've only ever used a split boot kit once, and I'll never consider using those awful things ever again - if one has to repair a torn CV boot and can't replace the shafts, do it once and do it right - stay away from split boot kits.
I know Wizard doesn't want to be yet another wrenching channel, but I appreciate the in depth detail of what failures or outdated or outmoded parts look like and what some options are for repair or replace.
Great on Wizard as well surrounding himself with highly knowledgeable technicians to cover the gaps in his experience. One wouldn't think central KS is a mecca of specific auto knowledge, but I suppose, one realized that, for the most part, it takes all kinds.
Did they send you the bottom bracket and tensioner for the AC compressor? There are supposed to be brackets top and bottom as well as a small tensioner. If you need I can send a picture of how mine looks in the car.
That was a nice 15 minutes break for Danielson ☺ Hopefully not his tea time, as he's a good and hard working lad 👍

Wizard got so comfortable in front of the camera. I remember how he was in his first appearances in Tyler's videos.
I appreciate that you give your mechanics the credit they deserve. You could just as easily present yourself as the complete expert, but you highlight their strengths and expertise.
With all my favorites on UA-cam (VGG,MORR, Hoovie,Tavarish, WEDay) You Wizard , produce the most consistent content & end up watching you everyday or every other. You are production mad man🤘🤘🤘

The late '80s early '90s Thunderbird SC motors those v6 supercharged motors had their knock sensors on the side of the block about Midway up

When this car is done you really need to either take Daniel on a drive with it or let him have a drive with it. I have no doubt he's put a ton of effort and work into getting it up to spec, he totally deserves it!
Actually Daniel (aka Danielson) has many hours behind the wheels of the most exotic Ferraris out there. He used to work at a Ferrari service center here in Florida.
Do we need to start a poll 4 DanielSon to use the car for a trip when it's finished? So much hard work!💪

Man, if it were me, I would try to figure out how to replace that massive ancient compressor with a modern compact axial compressor. Less weight and less HP loss when operating.
Agreed. Needs a more efficient and modern Sanyo AC compressor.
Removed the compressor from my 328 gts. Very heavy and not very effective. Simply take the top off.

I'm more of a Lamborghini guy, but you should never get rid of the Ferrari. It has a perfect home with you, nobody could take as could care of it as you guys, it's a classic. GREAT CONTENT, keep it up👍

Great video series, I am really enjoying it, glad to see I am not alone with all these positive comments. In this day and age it will be cool to see what difference the modern injection system makes to emissions and efficiency; horse power is all very well as long as you can afford to use it.

Here in Houston the humidity is usually around 85 to 90%. Those Swap Coolers as I call them just make air more humid. Perfect for shop in area of county that’s lower humidity. They work perfect

That engine bay is looking clean. Really nice work guys. The fuel injection will make a huge difference in the performance and usability of this car. Carburetors are garbage in any application, as a lifelong gear head, I'll firmly believe that until I die. Fuel injection for life!
