It's good to see a skilled young mechanic enjoying the challenge of these 308.

Daniel knows his Ferrari and love 'em. That said, once the GTB's all done, you should take Freddy for a ride, I mean, he drove that car in an almost wrecked up state, would be nice to hear what he thinks about it when it's all fixed.
the problem is, once he has driven it, it will be a wreck again. ;)

big problem is getting parts, regardless of the maker.
@@rickmarshall808 I am typically mentioning projects that he didn't finish and abandon and sold. That's what I was getting worried about with the Ferrari for a couple different times.

Danielson seems to be enjoying the work - and is one of the most knowledgeable mechanics at the shop, competeting probably only with the Magician.. Sorry, Wizard himself. Well that said, probably anyone would be enjoying this work - seeing what types of cars you get to testdrive. Also - the guy's a natural on camera. Good to see he's found a good home. Glad to hear you're correcting the rear light positions (some people think they were reversed on some 308 GTB/GTS' for individual state legislation reasons - Nope! They all left Maranello with the indicators on the outside, and the tail lights on the inside - There were no changes made for certain states)
Congrats on getting the Ferrari running as it should. Such a nice car and Daniel's expertice is a Godsend for your shop. Show us more exotic cars!
Passenger side mirrors technically still aren't legally required as long as the interior and drivers side mirrors meet the 20 degree viewing requirements which most vehicles today don't. (Neither would those beautiful cars either) Two intact mirrors though are, so by having three you have a bit of wiggle room if you happen to have one damaged.
Daniel has been a great addition to your shop. Very hard to find competent young people in any industry.

Oh wow wait I cannot believe the 78 is up and running thanks to Daniel son and wow has a check engine light now I didn’t know they could make a check engine only for 78 on a beautiful classic like that and up and running perfectly beautiful man can’t wait to see the next video on the Ferrari 308. Good job Daniel son.
Opening was funny. Awesome progress. I Can’t wait for it to be completely finished. I hope Wizard takes it to VANGO where Hoovie takes his cars. It will be amazing mechanically and aesthetically.

If I have the correct information, your '78 should have a fiberglass engine cover while the '82 should be steel. My step father had a '78 308gts, and the noise those Webers made on overrun was glorious!
Only fiberglass cars got fiberglass engine covers while all the others got steel. Glass cars were done by 1977 and the Wizard's car is most definitely steel and as such will have a steel engine cover.

Back in the 70s our friend who owned a high end body shop picked up a nearly new Ferrari for cheap. The owner got pissed with it always breaking down and took out his anger with a sledgehammer.

Hi, I think your car has a Ferrari 208 front spoiler. It was a model that was sold the most in Italy and France with a 2L turbo engine.

The several turns that the engine of the burgundy does until start, is for the oil to reach all the engine before it fires. If its not the same in the red one, you should program the ECU accordingly, engine insurance 😉

Almost correct,see you have to have a partner that knows that an Italian car is far more important...... well at least when you fix an Italian car it works for a little time until something else does not ...... great cars ,so more reliable than other partners of past ...... LANCIA LANCIA ....the best in the long run

Wasn't sure about the deep Cherry Red paint colour on the 308 - a bit like Hoovies' recent 599 - but in the right light it's growing on me.

I feel like adding a check engine light is counter intuitive? I would think that if it came with one most would be looking for a way to remove it given how much it would be on...

Compared to modern cars, the 308 just doesn't have a ton of power, but I guarantee you with the *sound* that it makes, and the fact that you can use all of its power all of the time, you'll have more fun driving a 308 than you would a modern sports car.

What will you guys do when we all have to go electric? Mechanic jobs are dropping like flies because of the electric movement. Master title will be a thing of the past so enjoy it and make sure wizard gives you some money from these youtube videos you're in.

One of the best all-time Ferrari designs! That body style never looks dated.
Car Wizard: On your 308, there is a clear plastic coolant reservoir attached the rear end of the engine bay. It looks pretty grungy; You can clean it so that it looks brand new by removing it and soaking it for a few days in a solution of sulfamic acid and water. Sulfamic acid is easily obtained for about $3 at a big box hardware store such as the Home Despot or Lowes. There is a video that shows how to do it here on YT, "How to clean & restore coolant tank- PERMANENTLY" look it up. I did it on my '01 Subaru Outback and the difference is startling- It really does look like it is brand new!

I don't recommend using acid on plastic. it's very difficult to determine how long to treat it with the acid, and if you treat it too long, it can actually EAT the plastic. Different types of plastic will react differently to the acid. A light and careful acid treatment should be fine, but it's very dicey on plastic.

5mph bumpers were introduced in 73 for front and 74 for rear.

I always liked the 308’s, especially in red. GTS would be awesome, but out of my budget. My desire is all Tom Selleck’s fault lol
Good mechanics and maybe paint or just polish can make these nearly like new! Sadly, hard to make Tom Selleck link like he did back then. But we still love him, and that show!
