Phones are all more or less the same now; why upgrade every single year anymore?
The ROG phone also has a high quality DAC in it which is super nice. It's too expensive for me but if I had that much to spend, I'd be getting that one on account of that alone.
Great video, as always. Would be nice to see a mobile game video, but using the smartphone connected to a TV or monitor, and with a Xbox controller. It's like having a portable console. With Samsung Dex, some games have a great experience, and I know that the ROG phone can be connected to an external monitor too. @@eric-. 1. It's not about the amount of storage, it's about the storage being removable and not dependent on the phone working properly to be able to access. 2. SD cards are plenty fast for storing your photos, videos, music, etc on. Most android phones haven't let you move apps to SD cards for years unless you format the SD card as an extension to the internal memory. 3. 4K phones are common, there are phones that can record 8K video now, and games are hitting multi-GB sizes frequently, some have broken the 10GB barrier, 128GB is not going to be a lot soon. It's a MASSIVE help when only your apps are on internal storage, and not your photos, videos, music, movies, etc.
@@Cyber_Akuma Dude. The ROG phone and Lenovo have 512 GB of storage and the cheaper one 256 GB. I made fun of apple when they didn't give you sd card slots when phones had 16 GB of storage and we didn't have streaming services for music. Now I have a Galaxy S20+ with 128 GB of internal storage and a SD card slot that I will never use. After over a year of usage I have 70 GB of free storage. The same thing is with a headphone jack. When I bought a pair of wireless Sony WH1000MX3 I never plugged a headphone wire into my phone even though my previous phone still had one. Maybe if you use your phone for gaming that will be an issue due to input lag, but for normal everyday use it's really not a problem for 99% of people.

You guys may not know it but.. I game with phones and having a fan blowing at your phone even though the heatsink are not exposed makes a world difference. Specially in a hot country like India. You don't know how hard we struggle with phone heatup here. Merely a phonecall heats it up. So i support phones with fans 100%
PC/Console fandoms: "actually, smartphones are generally CRINGE becuase NO/BAD GAMES they shouldn't invented 🤓" Also pc/console fanboys: "Fruit Ninja? PVZ? Jetpack Joyride? Subway Surfer? Vector? COD mobile? ML? Wild Rift? Shadow Fight? The Outcasts? Cut the Rope? Nah, they're same BS 🤡" WTF! These good mobile games didn't get the attention it deserves, and then those fanboys (specially Sony and its ponies) almost made smartphones extinct to the point YOU LITERALLY CAN'T PLAY MINECRAFT CROSSPLAY
It is mostly streamers and youtubers who buy gaming phones because of how big mobile gaming audience. If I ever buy one I'll buy it for emulating ps3/ps2/360/gamecube games
back in 2015 my sony xperia got so hot using remoteplay with my ps4 controller it melted the glue holding the glass together wich made the front screen and the glass black fall off
Maybe both brands took into consideration how loud the fans would be in order to cool them moderately well and figured "Hey people will probably be alone and have headphones in while gaming anyways, let's sacrifice the silence"
I'm surprised he did not mention red magic has charge separation so the cord power will only power the phone and not charge the battery so you can play as long as you like.

@Clasic Man it's not about the gaming, ive had other phones but the feeling of these phones are really cool, tell me where you would find 144hz on a normal phone? No Expandable Storage was a deal breaker for all three of these devices, and I'm annoyed that I had to sit through the whole video just to confirm it was never mentioned here before typing this comment.
Using a ROG 2 and ROG 5 as daily surely makes me feel like ROG do struggle with thermals. Wish they improve cooling a bit longer for people like me who plays almost 3 hours in one strech 🙈 also both are bit cheaper in India so that's a plus 😅

huge ass battery, an unintrusive selfie camera for the 2 times a year i take a selfie, a rear camera thats more than adequate, 5G support and most importantly, compatibility with 3G and 4G networks in country Australia, and all the power for me to not need to replace the phone for a number of years.
thats whats sold me. Phones are all more or less the same now; why upgrade every single year anymore?
I got goosebumps immediately when I heard the ASMR Anthony PC build video.

Plus, a smartphone connected to an external monitor + controller + X Cloud it's a pretty damn good gaming experience!

1:05 "Under the hood, every one of our gaming phones has got the basics right"
Apparently, none of them have a MicroSD slot. As far as I am concerned, that means all of them got the basics wrong.
2013 agrees with you.
2021 says "How in the blue hell are you filling up 128GB internal storage to the point you want a slow SD card storage as well?"
@@eric-.
@@Cyber_Akuma well... You make some excellent points that I can't argue with there.
@@szymonchojnowski8040 Read what I said above about it being that the storage is removable, not the amount.
Congratulations! *YOU* will never use the MicroSD slot, but I and many others do. *I* will never use many of the other features of the phone but I would not defend their removal when millions of others do use them.
It’s honestly so sad that Razer is no longer making their phone. They made it at a time when mobile gaming was no where close to what it is now. :(

I game with phones and having a fan blowing at your phone even though the heatsink are not exposed makes a world difference. Specially in a hot country like India. You don't know how hard we struggle with phone heatup here. Merely a phonecall heats it up.

Maybe both brands took into consideration how loud the fans would be in order to cool them moderately well and figured
"Hey people will probably be alone and have headphones in while gaming anyways, let's sacrifice the silence"
Could've made it thicker and thrown in a big, passive heatsink at the back
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that
I'm surprised he did not mention red magic has charge separation so the cord power will only power the phone and not charge the battery so you can play as long as you like.
Yes! Theyre doing the asmr with anthony that they leaked in the onlyfans april fools video!
Not leaked, teased at. Leaked is if it was someone at LTT saying it without permission.
when you were talking about the fan sound i couldnt hear it over my laptop fans lol
To be honest, gaming phones are more exciting than mainstream phones, just because of how much tech is crammed into them.
Looks like this will be my next upgrade. I can finally lay my Galaxy Note 9 to rest.
I liked how all three of the phones kept upright had their minutes on the clock in sync.

@Clasic Man it's not about the gaming, ive had other phones but the feeling of these phones are really cool, tell me where you would find 144hz on a normal phone? The responsiveness of the screen makes it feel faster even if its not any faster, I'm rocking a razer phone 2, and the only reason I want an upgrade is because I can't find parts for it

i just wished i found the pro on sale. no idea what even happened.
But why do gaming phones exist? I've never met a hard-core phone gamer.
Using a ROG 2 and ROG 5 as daily surely makes me feel like ROG do struggle with thermals. Wish they improve cooling a bit longer for people like me who plays almost 3 hours in one strech 🙈 also both are bit cheaper in India so that's a plus 😅
