Love this aircraft. What a beautiful and deadly design. Thanks to Steuart Walton for stepping in and saving Paul Allen’s collection and museum at FHC/CAM in Everett, WA, intact, and re-opening the Museum this past Summer. Had the pleasure of seeing this bird fly several times pre-Covid. Magnificent!
I like watching and hearing start ups and fly by's right cool. Static displays in museums are neat but hearing what the engines are meant to do is better. 👍👂👀
My favourite plane, Fw 190. Great to see the only original in her element. BTW this plane was built as an A-5/U-3, a Jabo aka fighter bomber. Later, when introducing the F-3 fighter bomber version in late 1943 (originally designated A-5 / U-17) they established the F-designation for Jabo´s (fighter bombers). So the earlier versions A-5 / U-3 and A-4 / U-3 were re-designated F-2 and F-1 respectively. (Focke-Wulf produced airframes were designated F-2, while Arado built ones were A-5 / U-3 at the same time, being in fact the same! Therefore A-5 / U-3 and F-2 are in fact exactly the same versions, only built by different manufacturers. Would love to see her with the ETC bomb rack and (mock) bomb fitted, at least when not flown.
John Osbourn You're going to love what I shot today! 3 British fighters, 2 German fighters, all starting up, taxiing, taking off and returning. Photographer John Dibbs was in the back seat of the Zero taking pics out over the clouds.
Could you, if allowed by FHM do a close up walk around. Showing wheel wells, pit, flaps, etc.etc.? Being a model builder seeing all of that would be ideal. That's cool hearing the crackle and pop of the 801 at low rpm. Great vid, Thanks!
No such luck today, Bob, they were too busy flying it for me to get close. Which, come to think of it, is a really great excuse. You'll see some of that footage posted later today/tonight/tomorrow morning. It was quite spectacular... something I've never seen, and likely hasn't happened in 70 years... Spitfire, Hurricane, Mosquito, Fw 190, and Bf 109. I was sweating in the heat, but still had goosebumps.
Yes, we don't need to have you get caught in the props! I need my connection intact, Thank you! Perfect {to me} would have included "Tallahassee Lassie". But no aviation vid is complete without a 47!HA!
If the planets are in alignment and all the gremlins have been scared away, today's feature should feature that. Lineup is Fw 190, Bf 109, Spit, Hurri, Mossie, Mustang, Thunderbolt. We shall see. :-)
+Jay Felsberg Lost in July 1943 in an isolated forest near St. Petersburg Russia. ua-cam.com/video/jueDXiuU6aM/v-deo.html The pilot was a POW and returned to Germany in 1949. The wreck was mostly undisturbed except for a few missing items and was filmed in 1989 and salvaged in 1991. After cleaning and research of the history, etc. in the UK it was sold to a museum with the funds to restore it to original wartime condition and airworthy.
@@chameemunasingheprasadika3944 Other WW2 examples survive, but this is the only flyable example and very likely the most original. A second restoration with a BMW should be ready to fly soon, and it has a lot of new-build material.
You can tell it's an A-5 by the location of the pitot tube, later models had the p-tube at the outboard of the starboard wing. Second set of cannons were usually for the A-8 bomber destroyer version. There is also a set of Machine guns under the aft section upper portion of cowling on this A-5.
Well reading up, because I wanted to be sure, the A-5 was similarly equipped as the A-4. So you're correct. A-5's did come from the factory with four cannons 2 MG-151's and 2 MG FF's and the strengthened wings. But the A-5 did have a nose extension piece, which carried on through to the A-9 and F series. So that's another way to tell.
bob dyer Interesting. Seems like their (the MG/FFM) removal in the field was quite a common occurrence no less. I'm also sure that some models of the A5 also came from the factory without these cannons however.
What a beauty. Those 20mm cannons still intimidate!
Awesome footage of one of my favourite planes!
Ker chunk, ker chunk, love the sound of the radial and those paddle prop blades spanking the air.

It’s truly a beautiful warbirds If you look closely you can see elements of the later Hawker Sea Fury. Love the pilots job. 😁😁
What a sweet treat! Thanks for the upload!
Great video, Jason! Nice to see a rare bird in its natural element. Thank you.

Beautiful Bird. German iron is my favorite.
Thank you so much for sharing it!
Beautiful Fighter.
You should get a GoPro and see if they'll get cockpit footage for you! Thanks for the great video. 👍👍👍
Sy is pragtag! She is beautiful ! Greetings from Pretoria South Africa.
My favorite germen aircraft off all time 😊

I'll see what I can do! If you follow my facebook page (facebook.com/fight2fly) I already have a gallery I recently posted featuring the D-13.
NICE! I'm working on a D-9 {plastic kit} today! I'll go check it out, thanks!

Amazing specimen, I love the FW-190
Is it just me, or during the last pass, did the engine not sound too happy?
Wonderful. It is sitting next to my fav warbird of all time the zero...
She’s a beauty
I love this plane.
Super!
What time did it fly?
Bryster51 It was around 4:30. After the Mosquito and Zero had returned.
I am suffering from deep plane lust right now...where did you get this beauty????????

She is the final of her kind ever saved after wwii...honorable...

Wow
КРАСОТА!
you sure that is an A5? the second pair of 20mm cannons is missing, as far as i can see. Maybe it's a fieldmod?
BelaM27X11 The extra cannons on the A5 was a field modification and one which most pilots disliked as it made the aircraft heavier.

bob dyer Yup. The A8 also had a revised canopy and the nose bulges that came along with the larger 13mm machine guns in front of the cockpit.

you sure that landing gear is long enough ?
+Gary Pugh It is a factory original restoration, aside from a few modern cockpit instruments so that it can be flown safely.
I have met drivers like this who seem to take forever to get going, when I'm waiting to put fuel in my car at a petrol station......ggggrrrrr
americans can not build anything today
Sv N It's funny you think that.
