Regarding the symbolism of Marika's iconic pose with her arms outstretched, it is supposed to represent her embracing all living things and granting them grace through the Erdtree, but in a cruel twist of fate, when the Tarnished find her at the end of the game she's been pretty much crucified and stabbed in the same pose by the Greater Will, as punishment for shattering the Elden Ring...
@@jaibahra5404 That is the implication, though the only problem with that is it implies all the churches were built after the Shattering, which is weird. Also, the statue of Radagon that seemingly was built before the Shattering has her pose.

So Aspects Of The Crucible, the horns and wings you see on Omen and Misbegotten, use to be seen as divine, but as modern civilisation advanced they started to look down on it. Its the same with the Crucible Knights which use Crucible Incantations and are physically strong, but over time were seen as scary because of their strength. What makes it worse is that Omen are born graceless but Marika is able to give people grace, and in game Morgott is called "The Grace Given". This implies that people with Crucible Aspects were 100% discirminated because of their appearance. Now how does the Dung Eater play into this? The Dung Eater's questline and ending is basically Syndrome from The Incredibles "if everyone is super, then no one is" if everyone is cursed and born an Omen/Misbegotten/Revenant, then there's no discrimination by the Golden Order, because that becomes the norm.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames its still considered the 2nd worst ending though, right behind Frenzied Flame, sense he isnt really fixing the problem...or well, doing it to fix it. @@zavexcapricious2519 This ending is considered bad because the Dung Eater is a disgusting character. So they end up considering Rani's ending as the best because, in this case, the character is captivating. So it turns out that this best and worst ending is more related to the characters involved in the quest than the consequences themselves. If we think coldly, no ending is perfect or completely bad, with the exception of the frantic flame, where everything is destroyed (although there is also a logic within the game for this). And this so-called omen curse is closely related to transforming something considered a curse into something common.
@LuizHenrique-by4bz thank you man you understand The omen "curse" is only a curse in the eyes of the golden order its because marika prejudice against the hornsent who thought that the crucible is divine so she took grace from those touched by the crucible so they won't be able to be reborn through the ord tree which was also because marika took the death rune
I think the thing about us being the Dung Eater is more metaphorical since anyone who would actively follow the path of the Dung Eater to achieve his ending is ultimately as foul as the Dung Eater himself, storywise. In a way it means we too have an Omen mind just like the Dung Eater, even if we don't have omen bodies. That causes us to curse the Golden Order just like the Dung Eater. But trust me, the story of the Dung Eater is not any easier to follow when you play the game, the whole story relies on some typically japanese ideas of souls and curses. As a note on Marikas crucified imagry, it is very interesting and goes deep into the entire lore of Elden Ring. The surface level explanation is that she was crucified because she shattered the Elden Ring, so the Elden Beast crucified her to kind of keep her in check, but the statues and stuff are probably way older than that event, so surely it was expected or planned by someone. But thats why we find her crucified inside the Erdtree before she falls down and turns into Radagon who fights us since he is on the side of the Elden Beast, which is the vassal of the Greater Will. But the theories as to why Marika destroyed the Elden Ring goes deep, she might have orchastrated all of this for some purpose. But until the DLC we're missing alot of lore about the two characters most related to that topic, Godwyn and Miquella. It reminds me a bit of Bloodbornes lore which practically didn't make any sense until the DLC came out. Elden Rings lore makes sense but the core of the conflict is still a mystery, and thats intentional. "Golden one, at whom were you angry?"
So traditionally, most don't simply stay dead. A red phantom of an individual is a sort of manifestation of them going against you in Soulsborne/Elden Ring games. Dung Eater is someone who once followed Order as a believer, but would turn his back on it as it stands. There is but one other factor to him. He can't be turned into an Omen being despite wanting to. Us not being effected by the curse makes us to be something different from others, and the first other that Dung Eater has ever seen. His first assumption after being sure of this is that we're someone alike. Perhaps even in interests to carry on his work as a stronger candidate to the duty. More thought out Tarnished of the Roundtable Hold are familiar with the means to sacrifice their line of grace in their lively being to produce a fragment of order capable of mending into that of the Elden Ring's. Thus he would sacrifice his own for his greater cause than simply fixing order. He would entrust us to carry out this deed, by coalescing the form with his tools of cursing in enough with his being. With him dead, we get his armor, his weapons, and a cursing Mending Rune decorated with Omen horns. His choice of armor suggests the type of Omen that he sees in himself. The removed horns might be suggesting that he's common born and not a noble. Anything more to this topic is speculation, but it gets pretty interesting.

@badroboudjerda4394 it actually goes deeper this. Those afflicted to turn "omen" with Dung Eater's method are of an old herrtage of people whose wound flesh can meld harmoniously with others. These were in fact the Shamans, Marika's original people. They were frowned upon in their original home as impure to their lack of evolutionary gifts from the Crucible. These would be the earliest humans without horns, scales, knots, claws, wings, nor tails. To follow Marika's Golden Order, this new state of humans would be the modern image. An image unlike one that had caused great torment of all kinds. Dung Eater's generation was one too far from Crucible blessing. To his eyes he was truly cursed.
One of the many intertwining story lines you can follow, and realize the Dung Eaters "faith/believe." (I just wanted his armor and sword, lol.) Also that Lion on Godfrey's back holds his power in check, they didn't show it here but in phase two of the battle he kills the lion and goes berserk.
To clarify, Serosh (the lion) doesn’t hold Godfrey’s power in check directly. More that Serosh dampens Godfrey’s lust for battle so that Godfrey can remain composed and regal as Elden Lord. Marika needed Hoarah Loux to face the fire giants and the ancient dragons, but she needed Godfrey after this to rule over the Lands Between without turning it all into a warzone.
To become the Dung Eater we must kill the Dung Eater and defile his corpse with the Seedbed Curse. So that all the world shall become cursed with the same curse, which is the severing from the Grace. So, basically, all the world becomes the Omen. No more Grace, so the curse becomes the blessing. Something like that, very confusing but makes sense when you think about it long enough.) Loved your reactions and your thoughts, cheers!
To keep it simple it's basically the ending where if you feel bad for how the omen were treated you become the Dung Eater. Cursing all those before who stood alongside the Golden Order, but "blessing" those going forward with the new beginnings of this age that mocks and defiles what the last age stood for.
So to summarise Marika's story: She was chosen by the "Greater Will" (a formless god) to be its vessel. She then made the Golden Order, a religion, a concept, a culture. Then she married the (then) strongest warrior: Hoarah Loux, and gave him Serosh as his lion-shadow who forced Hoarah Loux to be more obedient and peaceful. This made Hoarah Loux become Godfrey, The First Elden Lord. Marika and Godfrey had 3 (maybe 5) children together: Godwyn of Gold (and later Death), Morgott the Omen(-King) and his twin Mohg (Lord of Blood) ((And *maybe* Godrick and Godefroy)) Then there was another warrior named Radagon, Marika's other self (other half?) whom she had 2 (maybe 4) more children with: Malenia (blade of) Miquella. ((And maybe Melina and Messmer)) Then all of a sudden, after the war with the other forces, after the war with the Fire Giants and every other "threat" against the Golden Order, after all the killing and banishing of the loyal, now Tarnished, Warriors... Queen Marika the Eternal broke the Elden Ring into pieces. The Elden Ring is the 'code' that keeps the logic of this world. And Marika broke it, presumably out of shame and grief of what she had done all these years. And Radagon tried to repair it, but that was too late. Pieces had been stolen (one was used to kill Godwyn, her first son), and Radagon had begun fusing back with Marika. As a punishment for her crimes against her own Golden Order: She was hung up on a small piece of her now-broken Elden Ring. That is what makes that pose so iconic. Took me a long way to explain it, but I hope I did a decent job...
he omen "curse" is only a curse in the eyes of the golden order its because marika prejudice against the hornsent who thought that the crucible is divine so she took grace from those touched by the crucible so they won't be able to be reborn through the ord tree which was also because marika took the death rune
Awesome to see y’all finally react to this one! Vaati’s videos on the endings of Elden Ring are definitely easier to understand once you’ve seen them all, its easier to parse the recurring thematic elements and more abstract mechanics of them once you’ve seen it play out a couple times. Age of the Duskborn next, please? It’s probably Vaati’s best video imo, and it’s about one of the most interesting endings.
The Dung Eater mentions that some will be born like him, with the mind of an Omen if not the body; a mind that recoils from the Golden Order and instinctively feels hatred for its Grace. If the player character chooses to follow this quest, and ally with the Dung Eater, it can be assumed that the player is one such Tarnished, with the mind of an Omen. I think that’s what he meant, he doesn’t literally possess you and you aren’t literally him either.
The thing about Elden Ring Characters is that not many of them are nice to you, but the one that are leave a strong impression. So when something bad happens to them its extra sad.
"Queen Marika,, at whom were you so angry? And..why?!" ... We know the answer to this tragedy now... thanks to the DLC..hope we get way more amazing videos like this, so you two beautiful people, can share your thoughts with us.
The whole concept of the Dung Eater is that he wishes the world suffers for the prejudice that the omens went through to create the golden order. The character who follows the Dung Eater kills the Dung Eater to continue his mission and forge a ring of despair, meaning the main character becomes the new Dung Eater so to say.
he omen "curse" is only a curse in the eyes of the golden order its because marika prejudice against the hornsent who thought that the crucible is divine so she took grace from those touched by the crucible so they won't be able to be reborn through the ord tree which was also because marika took the death rune
Godfrey was banished by Marika sometime along with the Tarnished. We don't know how their relationship was but I thought it was heartbreaking and spoke volumes how sad he is to find his son Morgott dead and decrepit upon his return. He probably was against imprisoning them but couldn't do much against Marika.
Dung Eater's ending (also known as Blessing of Despair Ending) inflicts the Lands Between and all of its inhabitants with the fell curse. It is the same curse brought about by Dung Eater's defilement. The player (tarnished) doesn't necessarily have to "become Dung Eater" to get this ending, but they are essentially fulfilling Dung Eater's wishes by cursing the land. The video connects this by having the player wear Dung Eater's armor set. After all, the Mending Rune of the Fell Curse (required for this ending) is gained by defiling Dung Eater himself.
The omen "curse" is only a curse in the eyes of the golden order its because marika prejudice against the hornsent who thought that the crucible is divine so she took grace from those touched by the crucible so they won't be able to be reborn through the ord tree which was also because marika took the death rune
Speaking of Morgot feeling love and his connection to Godfrey. Vat's vid mentions how Morgot created illusions of himself to fight the player, which he does twice, first outside Godricks castle to protect him, then outside the city walls. But once your Tarnished enters the Erd Tree Palice (just before the Erd Tree throne/where you fight him), your confronted with arguably the biggest jump scare in the game. **Godfrey, the first eldern Lord** Or a lordy apparician, created my Morgot. So, he must value/love or respect Godfrey enough for him to be Morgots final line of defence. Also, local's around the palace remark how they're waiting for their lord (Godfreys return to reclaim the throne), and you could argue that Morgot it also waiting, as in his cutscene he declares all his siblings to be discraces undeserving of the throne, but doesn't mention his father who as tarnished would inevitably return (so Morgot would have mentioned him if he hated him, as his return was innevitable). But hay ho that's just my two sence about it. This reaction was the first time I've watched this vid as well so had a great time watching along.
What a Tale, Also, yes, that was one of the Endings, that resulted from the Dung Eater Quest-line. There’s Two left of these specific kind of Prepare to Cry Videos, I will look forward to your Reaction to those.
The dung eater is insane. "You are me, I am the Dung Eater" is his way of trying to understand his own legacy. He needed a successor, a new defiler to defile the defiler and carry on the curse. He was just too insane to process that, so he hints at it by thinking that you and he are one in the same. It's not quite true, but he's not totally wrong either. That's the problem with him - he's insane, but right. If he was wrong, he would have been just another enemy to kill on your quest, but instead he can actually make a successful mending rune, twisted thought it may be. I would highly recommend watching Smoughtown's video on Gold Mask after this, you guys would love that one - it's pretty long, but much more uplifting than this was. Would love to see your reaction to it!
People laughing at dung eater's name in the pre-release trailer, and Miyazaki laughing right there with us for completely different reasons. Defilement is definitely one of the top 5 things in Elden Ring to run away from very fast.
Great video again! If you want to better understand the conflict of the character of Marika, may I suggest checking out "The Lady of Lore." Her videos, along with Vaati's, help to explain the finer details of the story, while also making plain the intense emotion of the entire scenery.
So the line about us being the dung eater isn’t literal, it just kind of means that we become the next dung eater, and by defiling the defiler, we have done what he spent his life doing. It’s not like some time traveler shit or something, its kind of like how in the main ending, you kill the elden lord and become the next elden lord
There are only CERTAIN beings that can create MENDING RUNES. Such runes do as they are titled; they fix the Elden Ring. However, the Mending Rune becomes the core logic of the next Elden Ring. So, whatever path is chosen, that path is semi-permanent until Marika breaks the ring again; and someone else with the determination and skill comes along to mend it once more. So, by following in the steps of the Dung Eater, you learn what the seedbed curse is, how the Dung Eater got his name, how he defiles his victims, and what he is intending to accomplish. Nonetheless, YOU, brave tarnished, do not know how to make a Mending Rune. The Dung Eater, progenitor of this new curse, realizes that his essences must be extracted and crafted into a Mending Rune. The only one who can help him acccomplished this - he cannot defile himself in that way - is to have you, his apprentice, defile in the same way that he defiled others. Doing this loathsome ritual creates the Mending Rune. Then you, Loathesome Tarnished, are to take up his strength (he has the best armor in the game for the weight) and wage war on the Erdtree. Once that happens, and you insert your rune, now all will be defiled and true death has entered the world.
Yeah, this is basically the other "bad ending" of Elden Ring. That being said, the other endings are somewhat better (as in, not as obviously depressing). I can't wait to see you react to the Age of the Duskborn and the Age of Stars videos Vaati did.
"Bad" is quite subjective here; as this can very easily be viewed as one of the Good endings if you take in the context that the Golden Order and the Erdtree are what forced inequality, oppression, and suffering upon the natural denizens of the world. The seedbed curse; despite the horrible way it is initially imparted, serves to sever the connection to the Erdtress. Removing the very source of oppression and the boundary between the blessed and the oppressed. In essence returning to a state before the Golden Order.
@@gorgeouszan Yeah if you ignore all outward context of causing suffering to all living beings and their descendants that dung eater constantly screams about. If the only way to justify the ending is "well it stripped down one empire that did empire things it's good! Everyone suffers like hell equally instead of only some suffering." It's objectively a bad ending for everyone except dung eater, including the 'oppressed'. In fact you could argue it's even worse for them included compared to the golden order. Only people that think it could even be arguably good shouldn't have a say on what is or isn't good. It's arguably the only worse ending than the frenzied flame, because at least everyone's just dead in that ending rather than being alive just to suffer.
@@theworstcatholic7247 the "suffering" is being removed from grace. The Erdtree dies, the "curse" that is the Omen and misbegotten who are the original natural denizens of the world is shared by all. Could other bad things happen? Perhaps, we have no idea but what we do know is as I explained. But that all clearly went way over your head despite that soapbox you're preaching from.
@@gorgeouszan Dude, it's literally called "The Age of Despair." You want to be toxic and talk about things flying over people's heads because you can't argue against okay, but it seems the most obvious context of those fallen leaves are falling over yours. Omen and Misbegotten aren't cursed by the tree, they existed far before it. The seedbed curse is just given to everyone, which we see what it does to people. It's agony. The erdtree isn't causing that agony. You're just ignoring all context and the tone of the ending, the name of the ending itself, because it doesn't align with what you want and then being toxic about it when someone disagrees. Do better.
The Dung Eater's storyline is hard to follow because he himself is a truly disgusting being, actually most of the endings seem alright in theory but when you meet the people shepherding these endings, they really turn you off of them. It's because creating the rings for the Elden Ring requires tremendous sacrifice, strength, faith, or mental fortitude. You have to fully believe in creating a new Age. And this leads to some real cult-y people. But we as the player character can come along, pick them up, and insert them in our Age, second-generation family-business style. We stand to benefit the most because the work's been done already. All of the endings are about ending conflict or prejudice as that is what Marika's Age of Conflict is about. They serve noble purposes but you have to interact with ignoble people to get there. Even the most popular characters are not without their flaws and fallible traits.
So...theres this theory I had about the Dungeater and why hes called that. He doesnt actually eat dung, but something much, much worse. In Japanese Mythology, it is believed your soul resides in your intestines, which is why japanese yokai like the kappa reach up your anus to tear out your soul. The Dungeater defiles people's souls, cursing them and forcing them to spread the Omen curse through generations. Where am I going with this? Well, according to the spirit at Castle Morne, being eaten by Misbegotten is enough to taint a soul. The Dungeater's victims all have wounds on their lower abdomen...right around where their bowels are. The Dungeater also has a convenient hole in the front of his helmet and is constantly talking about "eating more" I believe that the Dungeater bites and chews his way into another person's intestines in order to defile and curse them with the Seedbed Curse. And since the intestines is where the dung is formed, its a convient name for him.
I think the reason the dung eater thinks we are the dung eater is as simple as its the only feasable option. In order for us to get the rune in the first place someone must defile the defiler. Dung eater realizes this and asks you to defile him to become the dung eater to make "his" plan work. Basically whatever you gotta do to get back at the golden order the dung eater was willing to do so.
I randomly stumbled upon this channel today and this is the 3rd video I've seen of yours. As a big Fromsoft fan and it's really cool to see you two interested in the lore even though you don't play the game! Love your reactions and your thoughts. Keep it up!
Hey welcome to the channel and thanks so much for the kind words. Glad you’ve been enjoying some of the content. We are due for another Elden Ring lore vid 😅
first time players will think the dung eater mad, but once you think about it, you'll find him based as hell for the length he'd go just to give the golden order the biggest middle finger
Glad you enjoy Vaati so much ^^ Also there is 1 question I'd like to ask: would you be interested in reacting to Swain's (League of Legends) story and voice lines?
We didnt get possessed, we just inherited his beliefs and mission. Dungeaters goal was to make everyone cursed so that everyone suffers equally. If everyone is cursed then nobody is cursed.
basically vatiy made the quest line more like a movie in his own putting things together but it is far fetsh from thre way it plays out he just put it as seemingly looking at the right way and he trying to paint that imagery of how the dungeater lost hope and felt despair as his body is more like a tarnshed and his horns are omin's and both of them are not welcome in the city so the dungeater desided as his body should be fully omin at least to have the strength out of it but he stuck with the tarnished body yet his body is stronger than the normal tarnished body to rip off the grace out of everyone or as many people as he can but through out his death and coming back as a soul can be out of his own jail that his body sent in after death he now having a plan after being granted with grace to make a rune that holds his own despair and suffering and grant it on everyone and the dungeater is not on the omin side nor the misbegotten he is just want everyone to feel despair so you as the player once you touched his curse you hold it with you and basically start on the despair getting into your own soul but bugger the crab cook that you had alot of heart to heart conversation seeing him dying because of our own doings should break the heart of the player to the point of the despair pushing your soul down into the dungeater becoming part of you even more another despair after hit you that you can not enter the tree to become elden lord and that what vatiy giving it as the point that the player soul is fully inside the level of dungeater despair and figuring out the plan of the dungeater is the only way to become elden lord to set things into motions that you and dungeater sees fitting equality in punishment ,pain and suffering
I love you guys yall both are my favorite UA-camr ever and you guys are the best I love watching your videos it makes my day every Time I watch your videos and I love your cute little dog so cute
Mohg is the better Omen. He found a new mother, new faith, new kingdom and kidnapped the one good demigod to boot. One giant middle finger to the golden order and Marika herself.
Seeing how much the dung eater sympathizes with (or perhaps more accurately, relates to) the omen, to the point that he wears armor bearing horns, you have to wonder about his life before he became the dung eater. What horrible event happened in his life to make him such an angry, cruel, uncaring monster? What kind of upbringing did he have that made him look at the omen, creatures reviled and thrown away by their own parents, and see a mirror of his soul? You dont build such hatred as the hate he expresses off of nothing.
Godfrey is a fascinating character especially in the context of the Omen curse. Godfrey wasnt born a lord and being civilised is not his nature, he is more of a beast in a mans body than anything else. The Lion on his back "Serosh" actually keeps his emotions in check, it makes him into the immage of a lord, Marika wanted him to be, so that he fits into her Order. In truth Godfrey isnt even his real name, its a name he took on when he became Elden Lord and had his wild side tamed, his true name is Hoarah'Lux. He dosnt really care for the Golden Orders principals, he lives by the rules of the wild, as he says "a crown is awarded with strength" in other words "might makes right", this is why there is evidence of him caring for Morghott, Godfrey dosnt care that Mohg and Morghott are Omen, he knows they are his children and therefor he cares for them. This "might makes right" mentality is also why the Crucible knights follow him, he dosnt care that the aspects of horns, scales and feathers are seen as curses he sees the strength that the Crucible Knights weild through them and thus he respects them. This wild nature is also why Godfrey was cast out eventually, he dosnt fit into the order of things, a king cant rule by might and might alone, so when Grace leaves him he is cast out and declared "Tarnished" just like his cursed children he is banished, not to the sewers but to the wild badlands far away from the Lands Between. They used his strength to build their order and conquer their land but when they no longer need him they throw him out. In the badlands he lives in endless battles and those who follow him aswell as his offspring are also Tarnished, this is our orrigin, Godfrey is our progenitor in a way. Its notable that when he returns and we face him at the base of the Erdtree he only starts the battle as Godfrey, halve way through he throws away his weapon, rips "Serosh" from his back and casts his armor aside, he no longer fights as "Godfrey, First Elden Lord" he fights as "Hoarah'Lux, Warrior" with bare hands and boiling blood he charges at us like a boar, he cracks the ground with every step just as his fist will crack our bones, wild untamed and hungering for battle this is who he really is. This is also how he finally dies, not as the man they wanted him to be but as the beast he truely was, in the end he didnt reject his nature he embraced it, just like he embraced Morghott just before his Son's body faded away... Well thats how i understood his character, as with everything Souls its up to interpretation.
The Marika pose is clearly a crucifixion, like the crucified martyrs found throughout the game. In the churches, this statue serves the purpose of reminding us the great suffering Marika, or any eternal God, endures. Godhood is not seen as a blessing here; instead it is an eternal curse of duty to her people. An U-shaped cross is Marika's seal, and the description of the Marika's Soreseal reads: This legendary talisman is an eye engraved with an Elden Rune, said to be the seal of Queen Marika. Greatly raises mind, intelligence, faith, and arcane, but also increases damage taken by a similar measure. Solemn duty weighs upon the one beholden; not unlike a gnawing curse from which there is no deliverance.
So in Elden Ring it's apparent that there was or still existing religions but since the Golden Order is the highest power and religion, I'm pretty sure they did the best they could to pretend it didn't existed Also when first playing Elden Ring (beating it too lol) I got to the part where I defeated Morgott and not only was I denied Elden Lord by the Erd Tree who made me do a bunch of bs and dying multiple times but then Margott's last words got to me "The Erd Tree wards off all who dare approach. We are We are All Forsaken" and that's when I started questioning things and diving into some lore (also felt bad for killing Margott even though he is a jerk) And then I was glad to burn that golden tree 😃

In all his grotesque cruelty, the Dung Eater was motivated by compassion. He would bring all life together in horror rather than allow the malice of inequality. And so all would be equally cursed. All equally blessed.
I promise you the Dung Eater’s only motivation is the lust for the despair of others. He never cared about the plight of those born from the Crucible, he saw it as a curse too. He just wanted to hurt others and inflict said “curse” upon them and their descendants.

@LuizHenrique-by4bz thank you man you understand
The omen "curse" is only a curse in the eyes of the golden order its because marika prejudice against the hornsent who thought that the crucible is divine so she took grace from those touched by the crucible so they won't be able to be reborn through the ord tree which was also because marika took the death rune
I love this one, it also means we're getting closer to the Age of the Duskborn.
Nice, I like them all however the Age of the Duskborn is definitely my favorite.
Am I the only one who gets chills when morgott looks back at his brothers and sisters as traitors?
Thanks for giving us even more lore on this 😀
he omen "curse" is only a curse in the eyes of the golden order its because marika prejudice against the hornsent who thought that the crucible is divine so she took grace from those touched by the crucible so they won't be able to be reborn through the ord tree which was also because marika took the death rune
Really glad you're getting back into watching these. They're so good
One of the many intertwining story lines you can follow, and realize the Dung Eaters "faith/believe." (I just wanted his armor and sword, lol.)
Also that Lion on Godfrey's back holds his power in check, they didn't show it here but in phase two of the battle he kills the lion and goes berserk.
So to summarise Marika's story:
She was chosen by the "Greater Will" (a formless god) to be its vessel.
Marika and Godfrey had 3 (maybe 5) children together: Godwyn of Gold (and later Death), Morgott the Omen(-King) and his twin Mohg (Lord of Blood) ((And *maybe* Godrick and Godefroy))
Then there was another warrior named Radagon, Marika's other self (other half?) whom she had 2 (maybe 4) more children with: Malenia (blade of) Miquella. ((And maybe Melina and Messmer))
Then all of a sudden, after the war with the other forces, after the war with the Fire Giants and every other "threat" against the Golden Order, after all the killing and banishing of the loyal, now Tarnished, Warriors...
Ahhhh, okay. That makes more sense now 🙂
he omen "curse" is only a curse in the eyes of the golden order its because marika prejudice against the hornsent who thought that the crucible is divine so she took grace from those touched by the crucible so they won't be able to be reborn through the ord tree which was also because marika took the death rune
**Godfrey, the first eldern Lord**
Or a lordy apparician, created my Morgot.
What a Tale,
Also, yes, that was one of the Endings, that resulted from the Dung Eater Quest-line.
I just went on a 2 hour rabbit hole learning this myself XD thanks Vaati
Ya, these videos are like 10x more interisting and engaging for those who've played it for sure
I really enjoyed your afterthoughts. I will be checking out more of your videos. :)
Soon, age of the stars.
Great video again! If you want to better understand the conflict of the character of Marika, may I suggest checking out "The Lady of Lore." Her videos, along with Vaati's, help to explain the finer details of the story, while also making plain the intense emotion of the entire scenery.
They should check out her fatal frame videos
Oh I love her Fatal Frame videos! She handles the chilling story very well
So the line about us being the dung eater isn’t literal, it just kind of means that we become the next dung eater, and by defiling the defiler, we have done what he spent his life doing. It’s not like some time traveler shit or something, its kind of like how in the main ending, you kill the elden lord and become the next elden lord
God I’m so glad to see this one out
Now it's time for Vaati's vidya of the Age of Duskborn.
I really love your Elden Ring reactions! I am waiting for you to watch Ranni's ending!
I think the age of the duskborn video is probably Vaati’s best.
Do better.
this is a mythology. Gotta follow the symbolism. The metaphors. The imagery. Myths are a string of literal and legends manifested.
😎👍🧐😀
Excited for them to watch Age of Stars
You’ve got to watch Mathew Shezman’s Eldering. It’s so funny
The Dungeater also has a convenient hole in the front of his helmet and is constantly talking about "eating more"
I believe that the Dungeater bites and chews his way into another person's intestines in order to defile and curse them with the Seedbed Curse. And since the intestines is where the dung is formed, its a convient name for him.
That's indeed worse than eating dung.
Nothing to do with him or the Seedbed curse.
38:29 I think that's what that was supposed to mean.
Ken looked so genuinely sad this vid lol
Glad you enjoy Vaati so much ^^ Also there is 1 question I'd like to ask: would you be interested in reacting to Swain's (League of Legends) story and voice lines?
We didnt get possessed, we just inherited his beliefs and mission. Dungeaters goal was to make everyone cursed so that everyone suffers equally. If everyone is cursed then nobody is cursed.
basically vatiy made the quest line more like a movie in his own putting things together but it is far fetsh from thre way it plays out
he just put it as seemingly looking at the right way and he trying to paint that imagery of how the dungeater lost hope and felt despair as his body is more like a tarnshed and his horns are omin's and both of them are not welcome in the city so the dungeater desided as his body should be fully omin at least to have the strength out of it but he stuck with the tarnished body yet his body is stronger than the normal tarnished body to rip off the grace out of everyone or as many people as he can but through out his death and coming back as a soul can be out of his own jail that his body sent in after death he now having a plan after being granted with grace to make a rune that holds his own despair and suffering and grant it on everyone and the dungeater is not on the omin side nor the misbegotten he is just want everyone to feel despair so you as the player once you touched his curse you hold it with you and basically start on the despair getting into your own soul but bugger the crab cook that you had alot of heart to heart conversation seeing him dying because of our own doings should break the heart of the player to the point of the despair pushing your soul down into the dungeater becoming part of you even more another despair after hit you that you can not enter the tree to become elden lord and that what vatiy giving it as the point that the player soul is fully inside the level of dungeater despair and figuring out the plan of the dungeater is the only way to become elden lord to set things into motions that you and dungeater sees fitting equality in punishment ,pain and suffering
I love you guys yall both are my favorite UA-camr ever and you guys are the best I love watching your videos it makes my day every Time I watch your videos and I love your cute little dog so cute
finally they reacted to it
Im really hoping for you guys to react to remnant 2 trailers and announcement trailer. ❤
It’s on our request list 😅
You dont build such hatred as the hate he expresses off of nothing.
did you guys watch the prepare to cry elden ring age of the stars from vaati? , that vid is very good omg
hopefully we'll finally get a reaction to age of the stars prepare to cry
An U-shaped cross is Marika's seal, and the description of the Marika's Soreseal reads:
This legendary talisman is an eye engraved with an Elden Rune, said to be the seal of Queen Marika.
Greatly raises mind, intelligence, faith, and arcane, but also increases damage taken by a similar measure.
Solemn duty weighs upon the one beholden; not unlike a gnawing curse from which there is no deliverance.
hey,do you plan on playing the last of us part 2?i just finished your part 1 playthrough:)
Godfrey isnt the final boss theres 1 more boss which is split into 2 diffrent characters (Radagon & The elden beast)
Suggestion dark deception
So in Elden Ring it's apparent that there was or still existing religions but since the Golden Order is the highest power and religion, I'm pretty sure they did the best they could to pretend it didn't existed
Also when first playing Elden Ring (beating it too lol) I got to the part where I defeated Morgott and not only was I denied Elden Lord by the Erd Tree who made me do a bunch of bs and dying multiple times but then Margott's last words got to me "The Erd Tree wards off all who dare approach. We are We are All Forsaken" and that's when I started questioning things and diving into some lore (also felt bad for killing Margott even though he is a jerk)
And then I was glad to burn that golden tree 😃
he was called dung eater, because calling him a badass name would give him popularity.
and the golden order cant have that
Bravo.
Y’all should play/watch Lethal Company! Great new horror game that’s also hilarious at times.
I think you should watch vadi's vids in order. I feel like your watching his vids in disorder unless you have seen his vids in order?
Can you react and prepare not to cry Age of stars
No it is because of vaati that you dont understand. He thinks its more important to make the video cinematic than to really explain the lore and get to the point. I dont think his channel is the one you should watch if you want a good explanation.
but about the christianity it is quite intresting because here we are time and time again making worlds in our own understanding of religons yet it is chaotic no matter what company or who ever making the game humanity given ideas that goes off in the wrong way yet we keep pushing down not standing at the point and thinking why it turn out that way
is it how it meant to be a hint that one of those religions that must been the truth that seems perfect logically and i never see it because everytime i go with that ideas of a religion i made a destructive world that does not make sense at all
It is me who talkng out of my experince and it is intrestinf i went into every religion until i find Islam to be the truth because every other one did not paint the full picture did not give the true meaning of life did not give the truth of why everything depends on somthing else and it goes to power and power to a source and the source never seen
it painted how it is one god as well because the rules the built for our world given to us to maintain our lives yet given us the freedom to ruining it down bit by bit yet the ones who believe in god still be safe but still requires to get yourself out of your confort zone to find him to do as he made us for to be tested and never expect the perfection of doing the job but to hold on in the road of struggling to do that job and death that comes from refuesing the zones who wants to destroy the religion and holding on to it despite being weaker than those who attacking the muslim nation is the ultimate full mark for the test of this world ...i am sorry for that but saying what makes the world sensible for me at least but believe me i did not scratch the serfice of the religion or gave it the full description Islam fulfilling and amazing and allah indeed the best of planners and humans still face their own actions
In all his grotesque cruelty, the Dung Eater was motivated by compassion. He would bring all life together in horror rather than allow the malice of inequality. And so all would be equally cursed. All equally blessed.
Yea, no, a monster in and out.
I promise you the Dung Eater’s only motivation is the lust for the despair of others. He never cared about the plight of those born from the Crucible, he saw it as a curse too. He just wanted to hurt others and inflict said “curse” upon them and their descendants.
