I'm a 60+ year old native of Upper Galveston Bay who loves loves loves our abundant super fresh seafood, and I love to cook too. I stumbled upon this video, and it's almost exactly how I fry shrimp when I go Panko (sometimes I fry 'em with cornmeal). Great video; excellent instruction very nicely shot and edited - this big time shrimp snob approves! And YES, panko crumbs for sure, they're far superior to any other crumbs for this.
I saw this recipe a week ago...made it today and honestly it was sooo good - definitely will be making more from now onwards. ps. As I wanted more flavour and spice to my meal, when making my egg mix I decided to add red chili powder, a bit of milk, and salt and whisked away!
Thank you for this video. I use it every time I make fried shrimp for the family. They love it. Thanks for sharing and making it simple for us to follow.
Made ur recipe then followed your instructions . I must say their wasn't one left and try hey we're delicious . Perfectly fried to nice crispy and golden Thank you for the video
Got a craving fopr fried shrimp but not comfortable going out for it yet. Made this recipe w/ frozen de-veined raw shrimp, Holy Crap it's good. Better than any I've ever had from a place that wasn't in sight of the Gulf! Well worth a Sub! THANKS!
I followed your recipe on Christmas day but I did use a different kind of bread crumbs, it came out fantastic. I cannot wait to make it again. Thank you for sharing.
Omg. So I'm pregnant and I'm craving fried shrimp today. Scrolled through my feed and TADA! You're a mind wizard! Thanks for the recipe 😊 Your cinnamon roll recipe is a family favorite (:
Great recipe thank you so much I even made the pepper seasoning very delicious turned out amazing I even butterfly the shrimp so I could get more crunch. Thanks again God bless
im drooling. the first time i ate shrimp when when i was just 6. i even ate the tails. you could put a bowl of shrimpp tails on front of me, ill eat em all without hesitation.
Excellent presentation ! Tiger shrimp when butterflied (full body ) turns into an amazing taste treat, the effort to dodge or eat around a shell, stimulates the desire to eat the portion. Ghee (drawn butter) is better than Cocktail sauce. I find 50/50 on that?Thank You!
i recently made these but i dont bother to remove the shell, once fried they are nice and crispy easy to eat without even knowing and they add more flavor, also i dont bother with the egg wash i simply coat them in flour and then i turn the remaining flour into a batter with either water or beer and dip them in it then coat them in the panko they stick much better and give a nice coating and finish , i even do my fish the same and sometimes dont bother with the panko and they still come out nice and crispy battered, i also save the shells for making shrimp broth for soups etc
little tip dont just drop your shrimp in right away you want to hold on to it and let the oil fry it for not even more than a couple of of seconds we do this because the additional weight to the shrimp from the dredging and breading process will drop and sink the shrimp to the bottom
When i fry n don’t have a thermometer i check by throwing in some kinko into the hot oil and if it floats up and cooks golden brown that means oil is hot n its ready
hello, that was fantastic, I do have a question, if you want to fry the frozen batch, do you let it sit out and defrost first or just fry them right out of the freezer?
Do yourself 3 favors! 1) mix your egg/water/flour together into a loose pancake consistency. 2) Use larger shrimp (at least 16-20) so they don't overcook while the breading browns. 3) Use soft (nama) Panko. (You'll be amazed at how much easier it is to work with.) Believe me! _I've got this down to a science!_
No. The flour acts as a binder and when mixed with the egg creates a glue that keeps the breading on the shrimp. Without it the breading will fall off during the frying process and not only ruin the shrimp but also the oil you're cooking it in.

thank you for teaching me! I''ll try to cook it later.
Looking great! Thank you for these videos :)
For one of the best dips for this. Use Mayo and Thai sweet chili sauce. You will be surprised how addictive it is
Shrimp is my fav gonna try rhis.thanks for this
“Use your head when you fry” yes i will chief 😂
I was always told not to re-freeze stuff that I already bought frozen :O
I refroze a 10 piece after breading on a plate overnight, fried them in the morning they were fine
I was going to say the same. Give them a miss if refrozen!
It really depends. You can get a lot more out of certain things doing this. Other times it can ruin a thing.
I'm not certain where that advice came from; my guess is it has to do with people thawing unsafely (room temp)
With the flour and seasoning add smashed red pepper tastes like the Chinese restaurants plus im a professional chef!
MY DAD COOKING Fried shrimp all the time.
They look so good!
Looks great. I’ll be making these “shrimples” today😆 Thanks!
Great video! I will make these soon

Next time, put some homemade fried shrimp in the oven, Crouton Crackerjacks. 🍤 🍤
If I made a buttermilk pancake batter to fry shrimp with zero breadcrumbs do you use both baking powder & baking soda? Thank you!!!
They were Great.
Thanks very nice video...
Hello hope all is well with you. What type of skillet do you recommend using for this recipe?
little tip dont just drop your shrimp in right away you want to hold on to it and let the oil fry it for not even more than a couple of of seconds we do this because the additional weight to the shrimp from the dredging and breading process will drop and sink the shrimp to the bottom
He’s back!
Yummo 🍤
When i fry n don’t have a thermometer i check by throwing in some kinko into the hot oil and if it floats up and cooks golden brown that means oil is hot n its ready
what's kinko?
Yum!
hello, that was fantastic, I do have a question, if you want to fry the frozen batch, do you let it sit out and defrost first or just fry them right out of the freezer?
That was answered in the video.
Nice recipe
Not sure about refereezing raw shellfish tho.
You are correct. You can't refreeze uncooked food.
Do yourself 3 favors!
1) mix your egg/water/flour together into a loose pancake consistency. 2) Use larger shrimp (at least 16-20) so they don't overcook while the breading browns. 3) Use soft (nama) Panko. (You'll be amazed at how much easier it is to work with.)
Believe me! _I've got this down to a science!_
For even crispier shrimp, instead of whole eggs, use egg white. A 1/4 cup of egg white is sufficient enough to coat 18 medium size shrimp.
Hi sooo good yummy 😀😃😄
Can you use hot water to un freeze the shrimps
Woo-hoo like #700.... Can't wait to make these. I put Sherry n melted butter in my eggs before breading.
If you add sweetened, flaked coconut to the panko you will have coconut shrimp. I use 1c panko n 1c coconut.
What can you do with the extra oil? Do you throw it away?
Great receipts like u to make a video how to make pepper shrimp
Love it thank you!!
What is the brand of the Panko bread crumbs?
I recommend thawing slowly in the fridge to avoid soaking them too much.
Can I put them in the oven instead of deep frying them?
Can I use the red shrimps
arg, i hope they invent the 10D technology so i can taste these videoooooooooooos!!!!
Can I skip the flour and just use egg and bread crumbs?
No. The flour acts as a binder and when mixed with the egg creates a glue that keeps the breading on the shrimp. Without it the breading will fall off during the frying process and not only ruin the shrimp but also the oil you're cooking it in.
@@croutoncrackerjacks ok thanks
Is it ok to refreeze shrimp.
Can we use the already cooked shrimp that you buy in the deli section in the grocery stores
Idiot
Crackerjack in da hause!
Are these recipes printable?
Can I use fresh prawns?
Panko is the only way to make shrimp
If you get the shrimp already cooked, with the shell and tail, can I still follow this exact recipe?
Idk for sure but sounds like frying them after already cooked would over cook the shrimp. May make them chewy or something
