Origins was the first Arkham game I played, I went over to a friend’s house and they were stuck on the boss fight with him on hard mode.

If you think that's messed up, check out Gordon's wife in the Gotham TV series. Not only does she cheat on him repeatedly, but becomes a homicidal maniac who tries to kill him repeatedly.
That video missed the cinematic trailer in Arkham Origins that was like 10 seconds long. That one was pretty emotional and cool for how short it was
Yeah the cinematic trailers are pretty cool especially the ones for Arkham City and Arkham Origins. The one for city looks almost like a live action movie. The trailer with the Batman and Deathstroke is also really good. I can't wait for you to start Origins. Even though it might not have Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill reprising their roles, the game is still incredibly well done

Can I recommend Meg *not* watch Harley Quinn just yet? Not until quite a ways down the line... She needs a bit more of the OG DCAU (and maybe a few of the good DC animated movies separate from the main DCAU) under her belt before she dives into THAT *massive* shift in tone......

These were definitely a trip down memory lane! Meg, if i may? There's a short Arkham Origins Trailer/ TV spot called "It's All Still With Me" and its a really artistic view of Bruce/Batman. Definitely one of my favorite Batman Trailers out there, i'd think you'd really appreciate it! 💙

Origins is my favourite in the series. It got a bit of flak for being buggy at release and it had a hard time shaking the reputation due to being made by a different studio but in terms of story it's the best in my opinion. I like the Bane in Origins far more than the one we get in the other games. Although his evolution does make sense.
Just remember that it takes place 10 years before Asylum and Bruce is only in his second year as Batman. Most people haven't even seen him yet, just rumours.
Batman Arkham Knight features some of the best trailers all in game but look better than most of these live action ones. Would not recommend because of spoilers but 100% check them out after. Arkham Origins is a fun game but does look pretty washed out. I messed around on Reshade and was able to make the game pop but sill keeping the winter feel. In terms of graphics I do think City looks better than Origins but the games story makes up for it's problems. Knight has the best world for me along with gameplay and attention to detail, graphics of course as well. All the games have there pros and cons depends on what you like.

The only thing is that the other Arkham Knight trailers do have kinda big spoilers, but it depends. There was one trailer/promo thing that actually spoiled the end of the game for many fans because it was a bit too obvious with its hints. Regardless WB did do a pretty good job with not spoiling the game because Knight’s story is truly great.
The thing is us DC fans know the stories inside and out and we like Batman are great detectives. I do recommend not watching any of the DC movie trailers because those DO tend to have a LOT of spoilers and tell like half the plot.
I think that trailer you mentioned that had spoilers came out after the game released. That’s probably why it revealed so much.

@@The_Phantasm Yeah, despite the gameplay being at its finest, the story suffered because they made the Arkham Knight the main focus and then dropped the ball with him. It probably would have worked better if they did a more faithful adaptation of his origin or skipped it altogether and used RH as a supporting character.

Batman DOES spend his money on the city, though, not just his crusade. Bruce has opened homeless shelters, soup kitchens, invested in infrastructure, affordable housing, mental healthcare at Arkham, and has used his wealth and influence to lobby for important issues. He does a lot more than just wear a scary suit and beat people up, and I wish more people would talk about that.
Love how you're getting into the DC universe, it's fascinating whatever iteration you're being introduced into. Your journey mimicks mine in the 90's with the animated series of Batman and Superman and tons of comic's. I was in middle school when Death of Superman and Knightfall happened in the comic's, was introduced to the Joker with the Killing Joke comic book, the 89 Batman movie and of course the animated series. I can't wait to see you experience the overall DC universe, especially Batman's place in it, I think you'll enjoy it

I grew up playing the Arkham trilogy for 10 years it all started with Arkham city for me that game was the one that immersed me into the Batman lore n made me read more comics
arkham origins is underestimated its one of the best ones dawg joker, bane, deathstroke, deadshot and that thing with black mask and a joung and brutal bruce with those interrogation scenes are awesome only bc rocksteady didnt make it fans hated it even though it was actually good

Also, if you’re looking to get into marvel and spider-man. I recommend reading Ultimate Spider-Man. It’s set in the ultimate universe, which was a way for new readers to get to know these characters without having to read comics from the 60’s
Edit: I recommend Superman birthright. It’s basically Superman’s first year in metropolis
In short, Thomas Wayne wouldn't really say anything towards the path Burce has taken as he himself set himself out on the exact same path in an alternate reality where it was Bruce as opposed to him and his wife that died after they left the theater.
The thing that he would most likely say would be something in between the lines of: "I had hoped you'd live a more pleasant, happy life, but I am proud of the man you've become and the results of your mission.".

Meg, if you ever get the chance, PLEASE react to the animated film, "Batman: Assault On Arkham". It's set in the same universe as the Arkham games, and it's actually a PREQUEL to Arkham Asylum! It's also easily one of the best animated Batman movies out there.

Honestly, I think Gordon deserves some freebies. Like I know cheating is bad but when Gordon came to Gotham PD he was the only clean person in the entire department. The stress this dude has to deal with on a daily basis is so much, I'm just surprised the poor guy didn't fall into depression or just go bald or something!

chronical order of the arkham games are origin then asylum then city and last knight, origin the story take place at the beginning of batman year one, i freaking love the game despite the hate is getting and made by the same studio that made asylum, city and knight but still fitst perfectly for me, the one of the many thing i love in origins is how the enemy's reacts to batman, is so f'ing awesome love the series for that is the Batman ever better then the movies !!!!

I’m loving ALL of your Batman content lately! I’d recommend you check out “Gotham Knights”, a new game outside of the Arkham universe coming out on Oct. 21 where you play as Batman’s allies Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, and Red Hood after Batman dies
Also, for Spider-Man comics, I’d recommend reading “Ultimate Spider-Man”. It’s a good introduction to a character in a modern setting and it has really good writing and characters

Why would you do that? It looks terrible and has already received massive criticism and it isn’t connected with these batman games. The same people who worked on the batman Arkham games are now working on suicide squad kill the justice league.

Meg I whole heartedly recommend that you play arkham knight as well. Without spoiling anything there are plenty of twists and incredible moments that WILL keep you engaged in the story...Also have you ever wondered what the man who everyone fears is afraid of? ;) If you want to find out I suggest checking it out.
You might recognize Deathstroke as Slade from the Teen Titans show and What Spider-Man comics did you read? Year One is more for adults so that's probably why you liked it, it's also a simple, self-contained well-told story with a gritty noir aesthetic and stakes. And an ending.
And xxraptorxx09 and YenofVen3 are right, Deathstroke is a teen titans villain and enemy of robin and the teen titans, he has only fought batman ever in arkham origins. But that trailer was such a huge hit, he might've fought Batman in the comics since then.

Have you played the telltale’s batman? It’s pretty good. It deals a lot more about being Bruce Wayne than these other action games.
Deathstroke is a villain in the batman universe and one of the few who is about just as physical strong, fast, precise and as well skilled in martial arts as Batman is making him one of his most dangerous enemies. Deadshot is the worlds most leathal and precise assassins in DC he always hits his target and can do it with a surgical laser precision that is inhumane, and he has only ever missed once in a mission and that was of course against Batman, deadpool is from marvel and was actually a parody ripoff based on deathstroke to make fun of DC's new villain back in the day, so Marvel took deathstrokes abilities and behavior and tweaked them a little bit and then made their own almost jester version of deathstroke to mock DC.

so if you wanna read comics it's all about the writer and the run... as I see it because of how often things are annoyingly retconned and changed... even character personalities... I find it best to stick to singular runs so you have to look up which run is most well liked for any given character or Team
You should definetly watch the DCAMU movies...there are some real gems in there like Batman under the red hood, Dark knight returns part 1 and 2, Batman year one, JL Doom, JL war etc.

You can't put Batman Year One, which is one of his greatest stories, which was created as a graphic novel and not regular continuity, against a standard regular continuity set of Spider-Man stories. Marvel doesn't really have a lot of purely graphic novel made stories like The Long Halloween, Earth 1, Red Son or Speeding Bullets. Marvel graphic novels are usually collections of in continuity stories. If you want to read a great Spider-Man collection, try Superior Spider-Man. But if you want to just read some of Marvel's best stories (a lot of them have been turned into movies), Frank Miller did equally good work on Daredevil as he did Batman. And it's why people like Ben Affleck's 2 favorite comic characters are Batman and Daredevil, and he got to play both. For Daredevil Read Born Again, The Man Without Fear, Guardian Devil. For Iron-man try Extremis and Demon in a Bottle, for Captain America read Brubaker's The Winter Soldier. For Fantastic Four, the 2016 Secret Wars was great. X-Men have some great stories, check out Fall of the Mutants, Days of Future past, The Dark Phoenix Saga, House of M, and even Avengers vs X-Men. For Averages there is Avengers Disassembled, followed by Civil War, Secret Invasion, and Dark Reign. Planet Hulk and World War Hulk are great, And for Marvel cosmic, Annihilation is one of the best Marvel Events Ever. Of course there are more, but those are just the ones off the top of my head.

If you read the old amazing spiderman series you probably didn't like it because of the old art style like me. I recommend reading ultimate spiderman and the superior spiderman series.

In the Gotham series, Gordon's wife cheats on him...and goes insane but yeah that's a big departure from the comics. And Sarah Essen is his boss not his lover in Gotham. Just found that interesting. Obviously, they made Gordon cheat on his wife in Year One to show how the city corrupts people who work within the law but still I get he wasn't spending time with his wife but it's not like she forced herself on him. I mean he still had a choice. I can't forgive that, it kinda feels like character assassination, moment of weakness or not. As ar as I know, it's canon to post-crisis pre-52 but then again canon might've changed.

I know, I know, I'm a bigger Marvel fan, than a Dc fan, but i still can comment, can I?
So If you allowed me to do this, then I would recommend some Dc and Marvel movies, (if you haven't sene the Dark Knight trilogy, than that is the first one, or if you have seen these, than act like I didn't even said anything) 1. Dc's the Suicide Sqad (2021) - you don't even need to watch the rest of the DCEU, and the other (2016) one, it's a lot of fun. 2. Dc's the Batman (2022) - I don't even have to say anything 3. Marvel's X-men movies, just because these ARE needed before watching the 4. one, the X-mens are one of my favorite supes. 4. Deadpool 1-2 (2016-18) thechnically you don't need the X-men movies, BUT Deadpool mentions some of the stuff that happend in those movies. And don't watch Deadpool 2 before Logan because it has HUGE spoilers for that. 5-6. Superman (1978), Batman (1989) and the followups. So Deadpool is a Marvel character, and he (and the X-men reboot) will be in the MCU, but the Deadpool movie is more like a third movie, it will conect to the MCU. And the 89's Batman is needed if you want to start to watch the DCEU. Not to menton, but the X-men are part of the shows and movies in marvel, you just haven't sene it yet.

So next year there is a game coming out set in the Arkhamverse after the events of Arkham Knight called Suicide Squad kill the Justice League you play as Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang who are sent by the US Government to kill the Justice League after they are mind controlled by the supervillian Brainiac from what we have seen the League members are Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and The Flash. Also in a month or 2 a game called Gotham Knights is coming out its not set in the Arkhamverse but its made by the same studio that made Arkham Origins if you end up playing it I recomend waiting until after you finish Arkham Knight because if you play Gotham Knights before you wont be surprised by a twist in Arkham Knight

The Batman comic is better than the Spider-Man (Peter Parker) comic? Agree to disagree.
DC overall is better than Marvel for a few reasons:
1) DC has many more iconic heroes that surpass the comic book fanbase. Marvel’s characters generally stayed within the marvel fanbase other than Spiderman.
2) DC developed the multiverse concept first and allowed for much bigger events to occur that made the universe feel much more alive compared to Marvel.
3) DC has delivered in every single medium but Marvel has only really delivered in a couple. DC has better animated works, better games, great movies, amazing comics, and have even tapped into audio comic books.
4) I personally believe DC have much more deeper characters that aren’t really good or bad but simply people that are either protagonists or antagonists. DC is great at making antithesis characters that are basically the hero but slightly different. It’s not so much as good or bad and it often forces the hard questions. Harley goes from villain to anti hero to villain, Superman has several iterations of both evil and good and so does Batman. Every single hero is just as capable of doing evil things as their villains, the difference is they choose not to. That is something I feel DC does a lot better than Marvel does.
5) I honestly love how the comics are written a lot more than Marvel’s.
I agree with you on pretty much a lot of those things since I grew up mostly with DC than Marvel but it is a shame though that DC isn't really looked at the same as Marvel to the overall audience mainly because of their live action movies. While I believe movies like Superman 1978, Batman 1989 and the Nolan trilogy are far superior than most MCU movies and more iconic, I feel like most general audiences don't talk about DC as much and/or put them on the same level or even higher level than they do the MCU. It doesn't help that the perception of DC in recent years hasn't really been that great with how much of a mess the DCEU is in. Like I'm happy that DC's solo movies have done well but I know most non-fans don't put them at that high standard that they would some of the MCU movies. Plus most non-fans are sleeping on DC's animated shows/movies and that's another real shame cause I think they are even better than both DC's and Marvel's live action movies
