50:04 It's funny she said that because Deadpool was actually a direct ripoff of Deathstroke. It is fully confirmed and even Deadpool's name was a copy from Deathstroke. Deathstroke's name is Slade Wilson and Deadpool's name is Wade Wilson. Their personalities however are polar opposites.

17:19 The developers purposely made Batman more acrobatic and lean in this game to emphasize on his youth. He has a lot of the same moves in combat, but they’re animated in a way that shows that he has a lot of energy but he’s also less refined. Great stuff

So this is a different voice actor for Batman. This is Roger Craig Smith, while the other games were voiced by the late Kevin Conroy. Roger Craig Smith does an incredible job as a younger Batman, and I remember people were really skeptical about him taking the role. Also, it's funny you say Deathstroke reminds you of Deadpool because Deadpool is actually a parody of him. You can tell by their names, Deathstroke's real name is Slade Wilson while Deadpool's is Wade Wilson

This game can easily pass as a blockbuster Batman movie
My favorite Batman portrayal
Killer Croc was a regular person born with an extreme form of an medical condition which caused his appearance to develop progressively into that of a crocodile, hence his name which is why he looks different in the other games. Waylon was put under the guardianship of his incredibly abusive and alcoholic aunt after his mother died giving birth to him and his father had abandoned him. Waylon had no friends, and was the object of constant ridicule of those who knew him and as a result he grew to resent all of humanity. Arkham Origins has honestly the best design for the character as it's the one most faithful to Croc's original appearance in the comics.
He looked like a monster, so they treated him like a monster. Then he became a monster.
And along the way, people experimented on him, which only worsened his condition and made him look more like a beast, which drove him more over the deep end.

Yeah from Origins all the way to Knight his appearance becomes more and more Crocodile like because of his genetic mutation progressing more and more.
This game was definitely underrated when it first came out. More recently however people have gone back to this game and have praised it for its great story and amazing performances and it has in my opinion the second best story in the series with the first being Arkham City. It also has the best and most accurate depiction of Bane ever outside the comics.

Origins has indeed the second best story, but the best one is Knight, not City.
The opening cinematic was just the trailer for the game. The moment where we see the bats on the ceiling in the batcave is where the game starts.

whats interesting is that the reason batman has an armored suit is a testament to his youth in this game (hence origins). he's younger, wants to be a tank rather than a myth.

Unfortunately the videos of the previous games that you watched cut out the parts with him. Oh and in case you were curious, the reason the Riddler uses the alias "Enigma" in this game is because this name is Edward Nigma.

Batman is definitely not voiced by the same actor in this game he’s voiced by roger craig smith and in all of the other games he’s voiced by the late kevin conroy
As the name implies its his first and second year as batman which is why he's rough and aggressive against enemies and that's also the reason why his suit is more armored because he's still relatively new to his role in Gotham. So he thinks about protection more than mobility. In Arkham City Alfred asks him if he's ever considered a bigger belt when he calls for one of his gadgets. He responds that he has but it was too heavy and slowed him down
One thing I really appreciate about this game is that it gave alot of overlooked batman villains thier due and I always thought that was cool.
20:27 Fun fact: Someone from Marvel was a fan of Deathstroke and Spider-Man and created Deadpool. They even have a similar name. Slade Wilson/Deathstroke, Wade Wilson/Deadpool.
However, even though their both antiheroes, Deathstroke usually remains the villain. Another difference is that Deathstroke is more serious than Deadpool.
This game truly made you feel like Batman. The way they tied the cutscenes into the actual gameplay made the whole thing feel like a movie.
They made Batman over powered way beyond what he was capable of in Arkham Asylum, and reused half of the Arkham City map, but it was a damn fun game. Been playing it recently on a PS3 emulator and it is something else when running at max power.
Guys, absolutely do not forget to watch the Cold, Cold Heart DLC as well. It will give you some much needed info about Mr Freeze.
At the beginning, it wasn't Arkham Asylum, the prison is called Blackgate Prison.

Fun fact about the map in this game. Half of it later becomes Arkham City! It’s crazy how they kept the same layout from that game and how everything aged in the timeline

This was a proper Arkham game. At the time, Arkham fans were more caught up with the fact that Rocksteady didn't produce the game than with the quality of the game. Most of the complaints were just unjustified nitpicking.

Deadpool is Marvel's version of Deathstroke. They literally named Deadpool Wade Wilson as an inside joke because the characters were so similar.
In this game batman is a younger, angrier batman. This is why he has such a mood throughout the game and is more impatient and brutal. Think of it as the time before he matures.
One of my favorite games ever. Batman meeting the Joker for the first time and sparking his obsession with the Batman is top notch story telling. Two sides of insanity trying to influence and corrupt the other
Slade Wilson AKA Deathstroke is actually the arch nemesis of Nightwing and the Titans. He's rivalry with Dick Grayson who is the first Robin and now Nightwing is one of the best in comics.
What about Arrow?? Have you seen the tv series named Arrow?? Slade wilson aka Deathstroke was best portrayed in that series in my opinion... And he was Arrow's arc villain... He had a few crossover with the Flash tv series also... He was there with his whole backstory and was portrayed most humanly possible.... Loved that... Deadshot was there also....
Fun fact - Arrow was mostly like batman, rich kid lost dad and gf stranded on an island met deathstroke met Ras al gul got martial art training in nanda parvat also like batman got back to his city and Arrow begins!

@@Wicked084I believe they are replying to the fact in the post it said "best portrayed" and in most cases that implies that it is the most accurate version of a character. Arrow never promised to be comic accurate but saying this is the best portrayal of the character is a bit asinine in that regard. Had they said "I liked how he was on Arrow, there he was..." I think the reply would have been different.
Arkham Origins is my second favorite Batman game of all time.

One thing I really liked in Arkham Origins were the whole "crime scene" investigations. The way Batman connects dots, comes into conclusions and suggests what to do next is very immersive. And his voice is very good too, it makes you want to listen to him.
this was my first batman game, so i love it from the bottom of my heart
Arkham Origins has the best investigation scenes in all of the series. 🙂 It also has some solid boss battles and is generally a very good game. I think the reason it got worse reviews than the others is that when it released it apparently had quite a few bugs, and even now sometimes the physics in the fights is slightly wonky. But overall it's a pretty great game!
This game isn't disliked like you said, it's just ignored out of the Trilogy, it's underrated because they had different developers making it.

The Deathstroke boss fight is one of my all time favorite boss fights. It kept me on my toes and made me strategize like I was playing Street Fighter or MK.

about that people that died at the trailer with the gun, well he had like 2 seconds to get out and as much as he'd like to save them, he's not The Flash, quick thinking made him realize that dying trying to save them wouldn't be of any use
regarding to the game itself, it has some technical issues, the Riddler's side quest missions and map design isn't near as good as the games made by Rockstady; that being say this one has the best character development, engaging story and great cinematic narrative, i'd say is criminally underated
I still have Arkham Origins for PS3. It's such a fun game and good story.

The boss fights feel really special in this game. Compared to all the tank battles in Arkham Knight.
Like, visually, Arkham Knight is amazing and the Batsuit v8.03/v8.04 is just beautiful, and the Fear Multi-Takedown is very satisfying. But how did Deathstroke go from an absolute fire boss fight in Arkham Origins to a TANK BATTLE in Arkham Knight?!
That deathstroke intro before you fight him goes hard. And his boss fight is probably my favorite in the arkham games.
Make sure you watch the dlc story for this game called "Cold Cold Heart"
When the game came out it deserved the rant it got for multiple reasons. But even then a bad batman game was still a good game. With the passage of time and gameplay patches it has become a better game experience.

Guys, please after you finish the main story do not forget to react to the DLC of the game called "Cold Cold Heart" which is an adaptation of Mr. Freeze's origin from Batman The Animated Series.

Arkham Origins actually has one of the best stories of the Arkham games. It was maligned due to how buggy the game was on release. But the game runs great now with all the patches. Bought it for my partner recently and she loves it.

You might’ve missed some DLCs stories from the last game like Harley Quinn’s Revenge.
Shiva is more than just a “good ol’ assassin”. She’s also one of Ra’s al Ghul’s chief allies. She also helped train the third Robin, Tim Drake.
this is my favorite Arkham game in a LOT of ways. But especially story. The angry young Bruce at the end of Year 1ish feels a lot like Matt Reeves film in some ways. Love the suit and character designs.

Before I had the smarts to play Arkham asylum this was actually my first Arkham game on Xbox 360, and while I had its flaws I love the boss fights of this game more than many other ones in the Arkham series

This game is so under-rated 🔥
The best live-action depiction of Deathstroke is in season 2 of Titans where he's the main antagonist to Nightwing and the Titans as well as season 2 of Arrow where he opposite Green Arrow. The short appearance you speak of is in Zack Snyder's Justice League. The idea was that after Zack Synder's Justice League, he would be a main antagonist to Ben Affleck's Batman in a solo Batman movie.

The best Batman, Bane, story, cutscenes and in my opinion the best Joker even. Origins is the best in the Arkham series.
Some people hated this game because of different voice actors, but Smith and Troy Baker did a fantastic job in this, now in 2024 - people really appreciate this game (more after SSKTJL) and the story. It really showed how angry Batman was in his early years. Overall great game!

Way before Batman trusted others, less refined fighting style, Commissioner Gordon wasn’t Commissioner yet. Arkham Asylum hadn’t been reopened yet, and the Joker hadn’t appeared yet.

As I said in the comments of the last Arkham City react, to this day I don't understand why there are Batman fans who don't like this game, but the most talked about reason for the release of this game at the time, which was released in 2013, is because it it was not made by Rockysteady and because its gameplay is inferior to other games in the Arkham franchise, and also because it presents several bugs and performance problems. But its plot, narrative, and story for me are as good as other games! 🙂👍
Origins is an underrated masterpiece but it’s still my least favorite Arkham game. But they nailed characters like Alfred, Black Mask, Deathstroke, and most of all, Bane

The reason why a lot of people didn’t like the game at first was because of the way it was advertised as black mask would be the main villain but instead we ended with a bait and switch for another joker story which was for many a disappointment however after the time has gone by and people have taken the time to revisit the game they’ve come to really love the game as the boss fights were amazing and the story was really compelling.
It’s a great game that has gotten better with age.
