@@Psaltrymom I tried it with regular cow minced meat and it worked. In pretty sure any mince meat can work because this youtuber used vegan minced meat and it worked too
I was JUST thinking to myself today that I need to look up some vegan Korean recipes and then I went on UA-cam and the first thing I see on my feed without searching for anything was this video! :0
I’m about to make my first ever Korean dish tonight for my family after being inspired by a Korean restaurant that opened near me, so luckily I came across your video and have a nice clear video to follow to show me how it’s made! Thank you for the video 😃💖
Excellent choice for your rice cake soup. I love Joanne! I make and use her vegan fishy sauce for my kimchi. Dried mushroom and kelp really add such a great depth of flavor to vegan foods.
I'm a white guy from California who doesn't eat Asian food . I stumbled onto this video by accident, but I ended up watching the whole thing. Your accent is awesome and you have a great way of presenting and cooking. Ended up subscribing.
Sooo cool! My sister recommend your channel to me. I still wonder why your channel doesn't have millions of subscribers:o I love your style! Keep the good work up !
Yummmy....I just chow to my customers how to cook rice cake... always ask what kind of sauce to put with it. Bless You sharing your channel. Love from Cyprus
That will keep you all week. Im in love. This is gonna be my spring meals. Ill be a size 18 by July. I hv most of these ingredients. Love me so ramien.
Cool methods! If anyone wants to know how to make the rice cake, use water and rice flour and adjust till you have a dough. This is actually the improper way to make it since that's all I had on hand. The proper way is to steam short grand rice and continue pounding it till it becomes a smooth paste. Either way.... best of luck whoever wants to do the pounding root.
Korean cuisine is with japanese, mediterranean, chinese and turkish cuisine my favorite ♥ The dishes are so rich in flavour and stil work with fresh ingridients and seasonal food as well. And Korean cuisine has one of the best balanced flavours. And of course as a hot spice lover....♥ Germany has rarely very good spicy food, everything is a little bit - less hot-spicy then i know from the korean and chinese cuisine. So i was soooo happy when we get a really big asian supermarket (from Korea to Japan - everything is in this market) with a lot of good hot spicy snacks and spices for dishes, my favorite Ricebrands.... And things like Beech mushrooms, which i really, really love. I will enjoy my Ricecake with one of your recipes now! ♥
Again you are adorable, i love your positive look at life, as I said before I'm vegan since 1975 when I was 13, my daughter is vegan her whole life 1993 to today and we love you you are awesome. Please do a video of all the ingredients you use and how to find them for all of your fans who aren't aware of them, like my daughter who lives in Hawaii.
Yes thanks for the recipes And yes it s so good..I try the first recipe.for now. I am French and I love try the Korean recipes. Thanks a lot you explain well and it s simple
Ok so I love your accent, Aussie? And you are full of energy and then some and your food looks amazing..Im going to make one of them real soon, thanks a bunch for your video!
Thank you for your efforts. I loved your presentation and explanations. I want to make the soup first and the last one next. But I'm making all five - of that I am sure.
Ive never eaten these rice cake things before. I have never even seen them here in the US before. But I still watched this whole video and more on rice cakes just because I think they look neat

Are you vegan? 😩 seeing meat free Korean food is so refreshing! Thank you 💕
when I ate tteokbokki for the first time I got addicted and kept on craving it, this makes my mouth watery
Same! Made it at home for the first time, and it's super easy and definitely cheaper than buying at a restaurant.
If you can’t deal with spicy food I would recommend to use one tsp of gochujang instead of two...Thank me later 🤦🏾♀️💀🔥

This is probably the first vegan Korean video I’ve seen. Nearly all Koreans eat some sort of animal product in every meal.

making the first recipe tonight
Every time I hear rice cakes I think of the styrofoam weight loss snacks of the 80’s.
yum, I like those, too lol Just not the flavorless ones.
When I was a kid in the 90s, I'd melt cheese on those for a snack
Hello, thank you for this video! I can't wait to try some of these recipes! I was wondering where you bought the vegan fish cakes?
Thank for the tteokkochi recipe we are using it like two times a week😁🧡
