Been following your guides from the originals back in 2014. After not finishing the game as a kid I never thought I would get chance to complete it at all. Thanks to your guides and these remasters, I can finally say I have finished TR 1 and with hopefully the platinum soon (three more trophies left). Can’t wait to continue on with the series. Great video series with lots of useful tips and tricks! As well as an interesting fact about the flying creature on Natla's back, I always thought those were her own wings. :D Below maybe some more useful tricks if someone wanted to further reduce the damage they sustained. 8:12 I don't like forced damage either. Fortunately, there is a way around this. You can run onto the breaking tile and then do a sidestep. This way, Lara will be teleported directly to the ground without falling damage. The sidestep animation prevents the falling animation. There is an alternative option without a glitch, which only reduces the fall damage and does not completely prevent it. If you switch to modern controls beforehand, Lara will suffer less damage when performing a safety fall (break the tile beforehand, then run towards the edge with the action button actively pressed so that Lara can hold on to it and then perform a safety fall). 6:19-6:27 It should be possible to completely avoid at least the first lava bubbles by making a running jump from the penultimate to the last slope without changing sides over the lava ditch.
So, that's why the last level playthrough got more time to prepare. You had to replay most of the game to get rid of that bat. You're man of commitment! That creature on Natla's back... What a revelation! This game is still full of surprise. Can't wait for Unfinished Business. I've never played the expansion, and never looked any playthroughs of it. Because, you know, without nostalgia spice such things just don't taste good enough. But your letsplays made me curious. PS Could be wrong, but I believe you promised to show us some easter egg in the reflection of save crystals. Looking forward for it ;)
Indeed, there's I believe an Easter Egg in the Save Crystal reflection of New Game + mode that I can't identify, and would love to hear you guys' thoughts on that!
For anyone who doesn’t want to take damage during the second breakaway tile. If you step on it and walk to the left or right a few steps, you glitch through the tile and end up at the bottom without taking damage. Helps with speed running as well.
