You already know that Man Kung also makes bows and crossbows for major brands like Tenpoint and Barnett. I also have 2 crossbows like the Man Kung Xb56 Frost Wolf and a Horizone. It makes no difference which is better, both hit the center of the target at 70 meters. A friend of mine has a Raven and even there there is no difference in hit rate that justifies the $1200+ price difference
yeah always use carbon arrows for stron xbows like 350 fps upwards! aluminum arrows are too easy to bend anyways. got my kraken last week and to be honest i am more than impressed how good the man kung stuff got by now! my last man kung purchase was the ares 400 like 7 years ago and it also was a great xbow for the money......rebranded a lot aswell! check out last centerpoint models.....its all man kung!
SO! if you are in the game for a sub 1000$ xbow, just stick to man kungs stuff and pay like 350eu max to get 600-800eu quality!
tenpoint, ravin, scorpid just woth the money if you are an avid hunter or want to go 120-180y targetshooting all the time...........if not: a 350eu man kung is all you need trust me :)
I agree with you rumtata. this Kraken is a great xbow for the money.
kraken can be stretched hands in an emergency situation or no chance? only coking device?
200lbs are quite a lot for cocking it with bare hands. I don't know if I would be able to cock it without its cocker or at least a piece of paracord

la balestra sta performando molto bene. per me il rapporto qualità/prezzo è molto alto. come detto nel video alcuni piccoli particolari non sono rifiniti al meglio ma se consideri il prezzo ci può stare. chiaramente questi piccoli difetti nel lungo periodo porteranno probabilmente all'usura di alcune parti come la corda e forse i cavi o addirittura potrebbero sorgere problemi sui flettenti, le pulegge, ecc. ma la precisione e ripetibilità dei tiri comunque è eccellente. se hai la possibilità di spendere 1.000 o più euro potresti guardare le TenPoint o le Ravin se invece (come me) preferisci restare su prezzi (molto) inferiori non credo ci sia di meglio. iscriviti al canale e fammi sapere! ;)

I would love to know how you made the practice target for the 200lbs i got the same one but in black , but my country doesn't have practice targets for 200lbs. so I want to make my own
hi Tanischa, my target is made out of a big sack of synthetic jute filled with old rags and clothes. jeans and denim fabric are the best. that will stop your bolts and it will be quite easy to extract them out of the target. the only cons is that it is quite heavy. I will make a video about my DIY target so be sure to subscribe and turn on the notification! ;)
Hi, thank you for the videos . I am a beginner and have bought one of these crossbows after watching this. I am unsure on how to correctly put my bow together as the instructions are vague. Do you have an instructional video on how to build it please ?

grazie lalleroo, io ero partito usando imballaggi di plastica molto compatti. funzionavano nel senso che i dardi li fermavano ma l'attrito con il dardo stesso li fondeva quindi poi tirar via le frecce era molto faticoso. ora sono passato a stracci e vestiti vecchi e la cosa funziona molto meglio. il lato negativo è che gli stracci sono molto più pesanti degli imballaggi... un materiale leggero e resistente non esiste per quello che so io... quindi vai coi jeans!!!

IMO for target practice I think you can shoot even at 100yards. for hunting I raccomand 35 yards max.
heey! question: i see in my local shop some arrows 20 inch max 150LBS when the crossbow is 200LBS is it still possible to use the 150LBS arrows?
200 pounds is a lot, and a crossbow such powerful is already an inherently dangerous toy. I would avoid buying darts that are explicitly reccomanded for less powerful crossbows. on the other hand, in emergency situations to defend myself or my family or get food to survive I would use any kind of dart available!

L'unica Man Kung che ho avuto (e possiedo tutt'ora) è una xb52 (quella che la Center Point ha ribattezzato "Sniper 370") e lo scatto è parecchio lungo e piuttosto pesante.
La cosa buona è che, contrariamente ad altre balestre cinesi e taiwanesi (come Hori Zone ed EK archery) , i flettenti non hanno mai dato problemi, non si sono mai rotti né scheggiati, nonostante la usi da diversi anni.
Finora hai avuto problemi con i flettenti della Kraken?

Ciao Nicola, non ho mai provato la XB52 ma ho letto che è una balestra molto valida! io lo scatto della XB58 lo trovo si un po' lungo ma non pesante. ora che mi ci sono abituato so quando scocca e non ci faccio più caso ma se potessi modificarlo accorcerei la corsa del grilletto di qualche millimetro. per quanto riguarda i flettenti, almeno per ora, non ho avuto alcun problema e la balestra è davvero molto molto precisa. credo non siano sfruttati al 100% per cui mi auguro che possano durare a lungo. anche le camme, i cavi, gli accoppiamenti dei vari componenti, ecc. mi sembra tutto di buona qualità. in ogni caso mi sono costruito una pressa per fare la manutenzione necessaria e sto preparando un video che pubblicherò prossimamente.

Per quanto riguarda la lunghezza dello scatto, se vuoi, penso che tu possa ridurla (io non lo ho fatto), infatti sul forum americano di "Crossbow nation" c'è un utente che spiega dettagliatamente come farlo sulla xb52, credo che sulla xb58 sia la stessa cosa.
Se ti interessa, cercando su Google "Centerpoint Sniper 370 trigger job", dovrebbe saltarti fuori il link al forum che ti dicevo.
Sono curioso di vedere come hai costruito la pressa, che, in effetti, farebbe comodo anche a me, per le mie compound, mentre per la mia Excalibur non ci sono ovviamente problemi.. Ora mi iscrivo al tuo canale così non me la perdo.

@@nicolaalberti7736 si, ho visto che è possibile accorciare la corsa del grilletto ma per ora non ho ancora deciso di farlo. come ti dicevo mi ci sto abituando. Se ti iscrivi mi fa molto piacere e appena riesco a organizzarmi farò il video sulla mia pressa autocostruita che credo sia interessante in quando funziona sia per le balestre sia per gli archi. grazie ancora!

Per gli archi, a casa, uso la Bowmaster, ma è un po' macchinosa (lenta) e non si può usare con archi che abbiano flettenti post-paralleli, per le balestre zero.. Una pressa da banco fai-da- te sarebbe interessante vederla. Mi sono ovviamente iscritto, ciao!!

Scusami, io ho la stessa balestra ma non riesco a ricaricare con così tanta facilità anzi, mi distruggo ogni volta e cmq non arrivo a ricaricare l'arma... Tu non hai trovato difficoltà nel ricaricarla? Da quello che vedo come fosse un gioco per te ricaricarla, io non ci riesco proprio... Sai se è proprio così tosta da ricaricare o è montata male?
bè sono 200 libbre ma con il carichino a pulegge la forza necessaria si dimezza a 100 libbre quindi circa 45kg. non sono pochi ma ci riesco abbastanza bene. si tratta anche di "memorizzare" il movimento. un consiglio importante che posso darti è quello di accorciare il più possibile la corda del carichino. in questo modo puoi sfruttare meglio il movimento della schiena e delle braccia e non sprecare energie. spero di essere stato chiaro, se non è così scrivimi ancora e cercherò di spiegarmi meglio. e se ti va iscriviti al canale, ho intenzione di fare altri video sulla balestra!

whats your opinion of people claiming in forums that Man Kung Bows and crossbows lack quality and thats why people see broken limbs on regular basis? Quite a few people. However i didnt see anything bad on UA-cam so far.
IMO this bow is a good one. the overall quality is not top notch but it's a budget crossbow, it's extremely accurate and consistent... all the rest is not so relevant to me

after some moths the xbow is still performing very well. no issue so far. the string is wearing a little but nothing strange in my opinion. it is still deadly accurate and consistent. I'm also making a press for its maintenance. I'll post a video about it in the near future. stay tuned!

I have same xbow just it the limbs replaced as they splintered advised was get bolts thet weigh 500+ grain I love my xbow thoit was coverd under warranty

Allora oggi mi arriva la balestra, non vedo l ora di provarla, mi serve peròun consiglio su come costruire un bersaglio artigianale perchè quelli che si comprano costano uno sproposito, il tuo nel video come l hai fatto?
grazie della domanda, me la sono fatta anche io quando ho preso la balestra. hai assolutamente ragione. i bersagli in commercio sono cari e non durano molto. in più con balestre potenti e veloci rischi comunque di rovinare l'impennaggio dei dardi. ho provato diversi materiali ma la soluzione migliore per i dardi con punta da bersaglio (non da caccia) è un contenitore di stoffa pieno ma proprio pieno di stracci tipo jeans, magliette, felpe, lenzuola, coperte, ecc. il dado si pianta poco e si estrae facilmente con due dita. io inizialmente avevo usato un contenitore cucito appositamente (quello che vedi nel video). poi ho trovato un grosso e vecchio trolley vicino ad un cassonetto e ora uso quello. il vantaggio è che ha le ruote ed è quindi più facile da spostare... il lato negativo di questo materiale infatti è il peso piuttosto elevato! presto farò un video sull'argomento, se vuoi iscriviti al canale così non te lo perderai!

it is still working good, yes. you can buy a TenPoint, an Excalibur, a Ravin and they are surely of higher quality but you'll pay a different price. this mankung is a good budget crossbow. it will serve you well for hunting and targer practice. probably a better scope can further increase its performances.

@@cargobob7817 my bolts are between 404 and 495 grains. aluminum ones are more heavy and some field tips are more heavy too so I have different combinations of bolt-tip that give me differente total weights of the bolts. not light blots anyway. I get between 341 and 379 fps depending on the bolt I soot. not the 405 fps that ManKung show in the features of the crossbow but not so far. I presume unsing a lighter bolt I could get the 405 fps but I prefer heavier and slower bolt to preserve my limbs.

Clueless the red fletching in the bolt should go downwards into the rail.
you're right but I filed some notches flat so that I can rotate the bolts and wear them evenly. now these"filed" bolts can be shooted in any position regardless the colour of the fletching

Si hai ragione... Come ti sei trovato con la balestra? È precisa? Può andare bene per prede tipo cinghiali con gli appositi dardi?
io con la balestra mi trovo molto bene. è estremamente precisa e potente. la qualità dei materiali e le finiture sono buone (non eccellenti) ma a quel prezzo penso sia impossibile avere di più. chiaramente se hai maggiore disponibilità puoi puntare sulle TenPoint o Ravin o ancora Excalibur che sono direi i 3 marchi top nel mondo delle balestre. un altro marchio di fascia medio-alta e ottimo prezzo è Killer Instinct secondo me. per quanto riguarda la caccia lascia perdere: è assolutamente vietato cacciare con la balestra in Italia in tutte le regioni e tutti gli animali. se invece vivi in un paese nel quale è permesso si, questo genere di balestre è perfettamente in grado di abbattere qualsiasi animale. ho visto video di caccia con la balestra o l'arco compound al bufalo africano, all'alce, all'orso, persino al leone! un solo dardo con punta da caccia scagliato con precisione in un punto vitale risulta essere letale per qualsiasi animale.
