Hi Terminator, thank you for the videos. Can you show how to line up feet, body to aim jump shot? The reason I ask is because I jump to the left most of time.
I treat is like a normal shot but that’s also because I’m right ey dominant so it’s natural for me. Masse shot for me is much harder for example. Try to line up normal and testing out various jump cues could make a big difference
Thank you so much for all the tips! Would love to have a lesson on your grip and stance? As a taller player your stance seems really good and it seems harder for taller guys to get down on the ball right and consistently. About the grip, most interested in grip pressure and which fingers you're using to hold the stick. Thank you again for sharing all this with us! I really appreciate it!!

I don’t jump much. I usually kick but I will do it on occasion but if it’s a tough jump shot , I know I won’t be able to execute it. I usually try to kick safe.
Hey Niels, thank you for the video! Really just starting jump shots and this gives me some insight into some things I'm definitely struggling with. Quick Question. I've notice that there are two ways in which people hold jump cues for shots. One way is like a dart (kinda like how you shoot with a bridge) and the other way is how you and most all pros are handling the cue (like normal cueing but a bit more compressed in body geometry). I've had more success in handling the cue like a dart. I'd really like to understand the difference of why you handle your cue like the latter I described.
Right before I look at the cue ball and when I shoot at object ball. For me it’s like a normal shot, just elevated but same set up 😄 good luck with it!!
@@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen Hi Niels. When we talk about normal shots (no jump), is it okay to look at the cue ball during shot? I use to have my eyes fixed on the object ball, but since I switched it to CB, I feel my stroke is cleaner and precision is improved. What do you recommend, to stay that way or to switch back to object ball?
my fargo is around 600 and the second tip for sure. i have really adopted alot of your pool mentality over the years of watching you play. i all around lay better because of it
There seem to be 2 grips used during a jump. One being the one I see you using here. The other being more of a "dart style" grip often taught and used my Janette Lee and others. I learned the second but would like to learn the grip you're using here. Can u help with that in a video?
The grip is pretty natural like holding a normal cue. But some players like to bend that back elbow flat so you can also experiment with that, see what feels good 😄👍🏼
My big issue is I line up, get everything perfect, but when I jump the ball squirts out to the left. So something between my transition between aiming to getting in position changes.
Great tips Niels. Do you have any tips for longer jump shots where the blocking ball is further away from the cue ball? I can pocket balls fairly well when the blocker is closer but I tend to skip into the blockers if they are more than 30 cm away.
Finally, I can consistently get over blockers that are further away from the cue ball! I think my problem was actually my head and arm movement from looking up at the object ball like you said in the video. It's something I don't do when the balls are closer, which explains why I didn't a hard time with those shots. Now, I just have to put in the time to fine tune my aim. I'm not as accurate at a distance. Thanks again!
@@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen lol well that is sure helpful. But I was really thinking of the angle of attack and where you are seeing the cue ball hit the felt
Any suggestions on the other jump method? Like throwing a spear? I am 5 foot 6 and my whole lumbar is fused with titanium rods...so i have had to change my jump method as the one you are demonstrating places too much torque and twist to my spine. I can jump the ball spear method but have yet to make a ball. I usually hit the object ball but it feels like a poke and hope shot...any suggestions for better cue ball control on spear method jumping would be greatly appreciated
@@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen not really, you bridge and aim same way, but it all in the wrist, maybe like throwing a dart, not a spear lol ...elbow is close to your side instead of elevated back behind your body...btw, I have NEVER been able to do a stop shot longer than one diamond awayfrom object ball, watched your video on that and draw and follow...I CAN DO IT NOW!!!! you have no idea how excited I am! Cant quit smiling...im shooting in the US amatuer championship preliminaries in September...this and other drills youve demonstrated will help me do well...thank you thank you thank you!!!!!😁
Great video. Niels, I know it's advanced and maybe too touchy for real games, but can you explain the trick to those SUPER close jumps (like less than 1 chalk gap between CB and blocker)? Do you need a special jump cue for that?
Yes sometimes a special cue can work extra well but also practice the dart technique. I explain it here in this video: ua-cam.com/video/zK6g7JJCAGY/v-deo.html Hope this helps!
@@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen Thanks... I'm ok at dart stroke but only up to like 8cm. I can't see how to avoid trapping the cue ball from those 2cm jumps. Don't understand how it's possible, do you know?
Practice practice practice. I do not practice enough to be effective with a jump cue. In fact I never practice with a jump cue. I only made a jump cue work one time after that just seems the cue stuck to the ball when I try. But then again practice practice practice.
Hi Niels, my problem is Long jumps, i can hop the Ball really good, but or i add unintencional side spin or i aim it Wrong, but sometimes i have the first problem i get UP to fast after i jump, can it be the problem? Not staying still after i jump? Thanks 💪🏼
Niels, I don't get how you manage to jump with your Longoni NF jump cue. I bought it last week, and it's absolutely beautiful, but both me, and a few other players (who can jump!) tried it, and they all concluded that it is 10 cm too short to jump well. I tried a predator jump cue that is 10 cm longer and I can jump without any issue every single shot.
Hey niels, damn you have got some growth since my last comment. Quick question about jumping, I always jump too far. Do I just give too much force then?

@@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen Because of Corona Im playing "ShooterPool" Simulator on PC. Can't wait to hit some real Balls on a table :)
Hang in there a little
Longer!
When take a jump shot, do we look at the object ball or the cue ball , Niels?
Hi Niels when I am jumping. Keep my eyes on object ball or cue ball before I hit
Switch back and forth between both balls and object ball last. That’s what I do 🤷♂️😄👍🏼 good luck!!
Thanks for advice I will see what good for me
Ohh this is niice. Thanks terminator.
Thank you for watching!! 😄😄
my fargo is around 600 and the second tip for sure. i have really adopted alot of your pool mentality over the years of watching you play. i all around lay better because of it
Nice to hear!! Keep practicing 😄🔥 poolrooms open there?
Great video , keep up bro
Thanks!! New one coming on Wednesday! 🔥👍🏼😄
My biggest struggle is getting elevation with that particular jump. I have no issues using the Dart Jump. Please advise?
Great tips Niels. Do you have any tips for longer jump shots where the blocking ball is further away from the cue ball? I can pocket balls fairly well when the blocker is closer but I tend to skip into the blockers if they are more than 30 cm away.
That’s when that elevation becomes crucial. Don’t elevate too much if they are further away. Experiment with that. Let me know how it goes 💪🏼💪🏼😄
I'll try that. Thanks!
How do you go about judging the correct angle
You mean getting in line of aim? 😄👍🏼
Wow spear method. I haven’t heard about that one yet. Sounds like timing is massively important correct?
@@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen not really, you bridge and aim same way, but it all in the wrist, maybe like throwing a dart, not a spear lol ...elbow is close to your side instead of elevated back behind your body...btw, I have NEVER been able to do a stop shot longer than one diamond awayfrom object ball, watched your video on that and draw and follow...I CAN DO IT NOW!!!! you have no idea how excited I am! Cant quit smiling...im shooting in the US amatuer championship preliminaries in September...this and other drills youve demonstrated will help me do well...thank you thank you thank you!!!!!😁
Thank for your videos, your are always a amazing professional! I struggle with all lol but will try to be as good! Maybe like you lol.
Thanks Hugo! Just keep
Practicing 😄😄 and don’t forget terminator-college.com for all your mental training 🔥💪🏼😄
I explain it here in this video:
ua-cam.com/video/zK6g7JJCAGY/v-deo.html
Hope this helps!
@@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen Thanks... I'm ok at dart stroke but only up to like 8cm. I can't see how to avoid trapping the cue ball from those 2cm jumps. Don't understand how it's possible, do you know?
Yes those minimal jumps are really equipment sensitive
My struggle is APA making me use a full length jump cue
my bridge is pritty ass when i try to jump without the extra hight from the cushion
My biggest problem with jumping is getting the cue ball to lift off the table at all. Other than that I’m great at it.
That's an important start ;)
Keep up the work Joseph 👍👍
Haha thanks man! Too far? Then perhaps too hard like you say or too little elevation. Try it out!
