    • @NielsTheTerminatorFeijen
      @NielsTheTerminatorFeijen  3 роки тому +1

      Actually from that angle not so much. But for example if you would kick to the middle diamond on the short rail, you would
      Get mega slide so then you have to aim more back on the rail. Experiment with it. That’s the best way to find out for your stroke what you need 😄👍🏼

  • @SenseiNatePlaysPool
    @SenseiNatePlaysPool 3 роки тому

    Definitely trying this at the table next practice session.
    I'm curious though @Niels...It kind of doesn't make sense that you can use the same tip placement on the ball every time if the 3 reference lines are all basically parallel shifts from one another. It'd make more sense that you'd either have to change target on the rail, or the spin of the cueball for each of those reference lines.
    You can even see the proof in that in how you came up a tad bit short on the first reference line, but consistently long on the 3rd+ reference line. It doesn't seem to make any sense mathematically or practically at first glance.

    • @bucksniper65
      @bucksniper65 3 роки тому +1

      Just a small difference in tip placement or cue ball speed could cause the differences you are talking about.

    • @SenseiNatePlaysPool
      @SenseiNatePlaysPool 3 роки тому +1

      @@bucksniper65 I mean...mathematically , if he's hitting it the same speed with the same tip placement, each reference line should track the cueball exactly 1 diamond from the last, since the 45 degree angle going into the rail never changes, there's no reason to suggest a shift, regardless of how small.

    • @SenseiNatePlaysPool
      @SenseiNatePlaysPool 3 роки тому +1

      Also, I'm strictly speaking about the first part of the video where he's getting the cueball to track to the corner...not the other part of the video that talks about adjusting the angle by half the distance from the reference line the object ball is.

    • @rickmiller9368
      @rickmiller9368 3 роки тому +1

      Interested in hearing Niels comments but my thoughts here is that the longer cue ball path off the fist diamond as apposed to the 3rd diamond allows for more “widening” of the angle due to a slight amount of bend caused by the high ball. That’s the “magic part” I think.

    • @SenseiNatePlaysPool
      @SenseiNatePlaysPool 3 роки тому +1

      @@rickmiller9368 I also think that's part of it, but none of that is mentioned, strange cueball and table physics or not. Part of me wonders if Niels is compensating for some of this and just not telling the camera.

  • @rickmiller9368
    @rickmiller9368 3 роки тому +1

    I was watching that same match from the other side...Poor Corey wasn't having a good set to say the least. In regard to this shot, I do have a question. I see you are hitting these shots with soft to medium soft speed. If you were to hit this shot harder, would you recommend adjusting rail contact point on the first rail, in otherwords, hitting that first rail a little longer to adjust for the tightening angle, or would you recommend adjusting to a harder speed with more side spin? Or Option 3, "leave speed adjustments to the pros, I don't want you to hurt yourself". :) As always...thanks for the tips Niels, without your tips, I can honestly say, I would not have cashed in the US OPEN and had the time of my life.

    • @NielsTheTerminatorFeijen
      @NielsTheTerminatorFeijen  3 роки тому

      Hi Rick! Yes when hitting soft to medium, the cue ball slides more out from the rail. When you hit it harder it comes out shorter so you have to adjust your aim on the first rail or the amount of spin. Tnx!!!😀💪

  • @Kevinsemba123
    @Kevinsemba123 3 роки тому

    Hey Niels. What different do It makes by going top in the cueball?
    Why not center?

    • @likewealwaysdo
      @likewealwaysdo 3 роки тому +1

      Both right and top spin help to open up the angle on kick shots. Since he had to play top right to get it to track towards the corner pocket, my guess is he'd come short of the corner if just played with pure right?

    • @NielsTheTerminatorFeijen
      @NielsTheTerminatorFeijen  3 роки тому

      Pure right or left is not really running English and will result
      In unnatural reactions. You would use this to create awkward angles and extreme situations 😄👍🏼

    Playing on a 9-foot Diamond Pro Am table, this system is unreliable. What adjustments do you suggest for Diamond tables? What about for worn cloth?

    • @NielsTheTerminatorFeijen
      @NielsTheTerminatorFeijen  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Alan, I think it works on all tables, but you have to get some feel for it. It works best with worn cloth actually. New cloth can be trickier because of the slide

  • @bucksniper65
    @bucksniper65 3 роки тому +1

    You shot all those shots at pocket speed. How would you change first rail contact point if you needed to hit the cue ball harder and still make the ball in the pocket?

    • @NielsTheTerminatorFeijen
      @NielsTheTerminatorFeijen  3 роки тому +1

      Harder then the ball comes out of the rail faster so you have to aim slightly further down the rail.

  • @CueballcontrolSometimes
    @CueballcontrolSometimes 3 роки тому +1

    Be carefull with the adjustment factor as the cueball gets closer to the long rail. 2 balls from rail and adjusting by 1 ball is a huge angle change.

  • @tayfu8536

  • @shuchengchao
    @shuchengchao 3 роки тому +1

    Like how handy the parallel system works but not a huge fan. It's NOT geometrically correct and would rely on good touch of running english, with appropriate power, and not much high/low on the cue ball. In short, don't expect it to be automatic. You still need to fine tune it and adjust a lot from table to table.

    • @NielsTheTerminatorFeijen
      @NielsTheTerminatorFeijen  3 роки тому +1

      Every system is a guideline. A lot depends on the cloth and your own stroke. You have to spend a bit of time on it to get a good feel 😀💪👍

    Hi Niels, this is kinda random, but I was watching you in finals of world pool masters and you had a kick shot you hit, and you chose to play it with a lot of speed. Here it is: ua-cam.com/video/KX_zsm6ZkMY/v-deo.html
    I thought you would hit it softer the same way you did, going 2 rails, making sure to hit the rail before the ball and come off the rail just around the 7 and play the 2 in the bottom left hand corner. If you see this comment, why the speed? Where did you want the cue ball to go after you made the 2 rail first. Thanks for your time, love the videos..

    • @NielsTheTerminatorFeijen
      @NielsTheTerminatorFeijen  3 роки тому +1

      Big risk of the cue ball staying there by the corner plus hitting it softer on a new cloth you get more slide so harder to judge. Hitting those shots medium to medium firm you keep them more straight 😄🔥💪🏼
