Will be drawing this on paper and heading to the table today.... Hey Niels good news three consecutive finals in the month of Decembers and I place 2nd twice and I won one this weekend .... Great feeling when the practice is paying off.....
I was successful in all 6 shots Neil's and believe me it was a pleasure to doing them..... My eyes was open to numerous possibilities but I was aware of these from your 3 hour video when you just started your channel ..... It was great to see the situations in which they are needed
Niels.. I really can`t tell you how much I love your videos and tutorials. One of the best explanations and the easiest one`s to digest. Always on point, and always being honest on the results. showing that even world champions don`t make it in the first try sometimes. Really awesome work, one of my favorite youtubers channels to follow, regarding pool. Keep it up man!
I have found playing reverse pool has dramatically improved my vision on the precision roll type safety. By pocketing balls off the cue ball, your vision of cueball trajectory greatly improves these safety plays. Cheers.
Thanks again for great training video ...SVB always hits those thin safety's amazingly...I've missed them so many times. Definately going to add these to my weekly practice.
Hey Niels, thank you so much for you videos. I've already learned a lot and my club mates always want to play with me :D I tell them a lot from your videos and try to think like a pro player. Thanks for your effort!
Love love love your videos period after fifty years of flying I've never practiced safety play. This will make a huge difference in my game. Thanks a lot hope you have a good Christmas and a great New Year Niels!! You Are really a good guy for doing these videos for all of us lesser players. Good luck in anything and everything you do in your life! Thanks a lot
I have watched a lot of your videos. Great stuff. Very useful information presented in a easy to understand style. I also really appreciate it when you are honest and say that it took you a few attempts to do it successfully. I like that much better than a perfectly edited video where it makes it look like you never miss anything. It helps remind me that even the top players have to still work at these things and are not perfect either. Keep doing what you are doing.
Great videos!!!! My playing has improved 10X since following your instructions, thank you! I would love for you to post a video on playing safes during an 8 ball game, when I have a low percentage shot I try to play safe, but with many balls on the table I feel like I always end up giving my opponent a shot. Again, thank you for sharing your knowledge!!
Great stuff Niels. I need more work on my end game play. Will be looking for more of this type of strategy lessons. You were awesome with commentators at the Mosconi Cup this year, Great job...Merry Christmas to ya.
Seasons Greetings Niels! Thank you for another GREAT instructional video. I like your approach to safeties and they are working for me and upping my defense and offensive game. On another note, I like your table light. What brand is it and where can someone purchase one? Thanks, Roy
thank you so much for sharing. what I love most is your honesty like when you said it was your third try. that is why even a pro like you says practice practice practice. I love that you said get a feel from different angles and practice. you are awesome.
Thanks for all the great instruction Niels, I really have learned a lot watching your videos. One thing that would help me, is if you would play the safety then take the ball in hand and run out. Once again, I appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge. Happy Christmas and best wishes in the New Year.
I have nice run out videos available for you: ua-cam.com/video/DSqdXFYEL_s/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/qteK4XwscV8/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/msz0FyqFsW8/v-deo.html
I see what your saying, alot of the times these layouts will not be exact. You have to look at the broader idea of these specific safeties and just work on the feel of hiding the cueball from the object ball.
Hey Neils. Can you do some workout vids showing what you do to stay in shape? It's a big part of the game IMO. As always, great stuff. Merry Christmas.
Awesome content bro. Easy enough to put in the daily training, yet a very effective addition. When your not a pro, some drills can be daunting. But this one can be used by lower level, up to advanced players. Have you ever considered making modules for the I.C.A. system. It is the system that connects to a projector. It projects drills onto your pool table, for easy set up. I think you could come up with some awesome modules. Thanks for providing us with valuable UA-cam content and have a great day. 🎱
Great video & congrats on your accomplishments. I definitely need to ptactice my safety shots but I e always been more of a shot maker. The other problems I have when it comes to safeties is imo at times it’s just as hard to made a good safety as making the ball & keeping control or wining than leaving a good shot maker player who then makes your safety shot to take control or win. So a lot has to do with your level & the level of your opponent unless you can hide the cue frozen behind another ball because of how easy and accurate many can jump now. Cheers
Gotta be able to play safe and be disciplined when your head is telling you to take the shot. Shot number 5 the last attempt? Virtually every player intermediate and above, especially players at your level will cross bank that shot every time. As always, great stuff.
Played the half-ball hit on the 8-ball in a game league game last week. My opponent missed the bank and I won the game! I knew about the 45 degree separation when a half ball hit, but playing with the spin you showed makes the shot much more reliable.
Good stuff. One safety option I see come up a lot is when the object ball is just past the side pocket in such a way that if you play it in the corner you scratch in the side and if you play it in the side you scratch in the corner. Comes up all the time. The safety is a full hit with follow. The cueball follows to the middle of the end rail and the object ball travels 4-5 rails to the middle of the other end rail. That's saved me more than a few times.
@Niels The Terminator Feijen I am 6'5" (roughly 2M) tall and my hands are quite large. I asked for a Longoni glove for Christmas, and the biggest one is still a bit too small. Is there a larger glove than the XL? Thank you sir!
Hi there! Always great content. I’m curious on what the response shot would be for the split shot(assuming no blocker balls). Where both cb and object ball near rail but no bank is on. I would love to see your responses if you were the incoming player on these safeties
I did the 4 square training once a few months back and my safety game rocketed immediately in my next tournament. I did few of my absolute top safeties just like that.
Niels, which drills or competencies would you recommend mastering in terms of safeties for 7' barbox play. I realize most principles still apply and the ultimate goal is mastering 9 ft tables, but here in Texas we have a lot of Diamond bar boxes and safeties that emphasize leaving alot of space between balls or leaving bank shots is alot less effective because of the higher success rate of making tough shots on an easier table... Even 1 or 2 rail kicks against good players give a decent chance to a solid 600+ Fargo rated player. Obviously the goal is even more run out pool on barboxes but my observation is that the most successful amateur players in these tournaments can run out effectively but are superior to their opponent in kicks and safeties when they are needed. You probably don't have a barbox to demonstrate some stuff but I can tell you that some specific barbox advice would be wildly popular with American players. Luckily here in DFW we have the privilege of seeing most of the best barbox players on the planet roll through our area often. Thank you for all your videos, absolutely incredible content and it's helped my game tremendously!
RE: the safety at 5:26? Why don't you shoot a three-rail bank using a stun run-through shot? ... and leaving the cue ball in the back of the 5 and 6 wall? Even if you miss, you leave the one ball on the short rail. It looks like all you really have to worry about is your speed. I generally do this all the time and wind up screwing myself because the one ball generally hits too hard and sneaks out the back door. LOL! What's your opinion Niels?

You are the best pool teacher on UA-cam, your honesty is refreshing. Thanks for taking the time, your great ambassador to the sport.

Probably the most valuable video I've ever seen to boost my 9 ball game. Happens to be exactly what's missing from my aresenal.
Some of the best stuff! Safety play is boring to many, so we don't see many videos on it. But this blows me away with game winning strategy!

Absolutely! You’re not practicing to pocket balls but to create the first open shot 💪🏼💪🏼🔥

Please send me a private message on fb, then I can set you up with more info. Tnx! 😄💪🏼
Thanks again Niels! Merry Christmas!
Same to you! Enjoy 👍🏼👍🏼😄
Awesome lesson. Thank you!
These are so useful on weighted tournaments. The tricky part for me is always potting balls after relying so much on safeties
Gotta be able to switch between killer safes and deadly running game. So work on both 💪🏼😄
600 Fargo to 700 Fargo right here!!! Great Video Niels.
Go for it Rick! Keep up the fire 💪🏼😄🔥
Lets go .. Niels you come with the best content and the most neccesary knowldege
Cheers mate! Enjoy 🙏🏻😄🔥
This is one of my favorites videos from your chanel, grat tips
Thanks for that killer drill!!!
No problem! Enjoy!
Gotta be able to play safe and be disciplined when your head is telling you to take the shot. Shot number 5 the last attempt? Virtually every player intermediate and above, especially players at your level will cross bank that shot every time. As always, great stuff.
You have to imagine on that shot that the lane to the corner is blocked by a ball. Otherwise the bank is for sure a high % option 😄💪🏼
Great video and excellent demonstrations
Thank you! 😄👍🏼
Great content, as always. Thanks Niels!

@@jkirkpatrick3889 I hope it works out for you. Unless I’m playing you lol!
Yeah that’s a great safe! You can also play that softer and land on the opposite long rail using 3 rails 😄👍🏼
@@NielsTheTerminatorFeijen thanks Niels. Your content is really good. I appreciate it.

Neils 🎉 is da bomb 💣 coach - boom 💥!
Hey I got a question on the second safety you did when the one ball was by the rail couldn’t your opponent bank it into the side?

Thank you!! To be honest I’m not a Barbox expert. I think hooking your opponent is a must on a bar table cause most shots can be made 👍🏼👍🏼

At the position which is on the table at min. 2.40, what safety I can play? (of course, if I cannot bank în the middle)

Niels, may i request a vid about common push-out mistakes? Thank you in advance.
Yep I’m working on it. Might do two episodes! 😄🔥
