    My seminar about Wilde Tuning from the SPAH harmonica convention. It's raw and unedited, but hopefully some people will find it interesting/entertaining. Wilde Tuned harmonicas are available from www.wildetuning.com

    Will I am presently
    taking your advanced course and am glad to say i am really learning a lot of important stuff.I have been playing awhile self taught not exactly the best way to learn in my case.
    I have been very curious about your Wilde tuned harps as I only play second position from holes 2 to 6 and don't really over blow to well.
    and I would love to bend those higher notes to really make a better sound.
    I have just ordered the 1847 in the key of C as my first one . Can't wait to get it.👍👍👍

    I just got an A and a C Wilde Tuned harps from Greg Jones... looking forward to playing them !
    Just watched your video on the Blues and pentatonic scales--that's a big help !
    I like the idea of a Wilde Country Tuned harp... I might have to try that !
    I've modified harps for country and paddy richter... usually using extra harp laying around... no way I would attempt to make my own Wilde Tuned one... love Seydel for their harp configurator and offering so many alternate tunings !
    SPAH is a great organization... been a member since 1978 !

    Will, Your seminar is awesome. I find it really informative, covering so many aspects of harmonica/ Wilde Tunings. Plus, imho you provided heartful, honest explanations on your many harmonica related insights. Entertaining and educational at the same time. 3 cheers to ya.
    Thanks so much for posting this video. This is pure great luck for me ( and I'm sure others) that were unable to attend the show.
    P.S. Your thought on a possible course for Wild Tunings would be cool. No doubt it would be as exceptional as your " Ultimate Blues Harmonica Soloist" course that certainly advanced my playing skills and knowledge. I'm positive a "Wild Tunings" course would be as great.
    Thanks Will Wilde for what you do. ❤.

      @@willharmonicawilde Your welcome Will. Furthermore, You Will are very deserving of the kind words. I feel YOU put in alot of hard work for them over the years, without really asking anything in return. You've always helped folks in harmonica land with FREE informative information, extensive FREE UA-cam tutorials ( all gifts that keep on giving). Plus, you are an incredible and knowledgeable musician creating awesome music, and spreading education. All extraordinary and exemplary in my book.

    Awesome presentation!
    As a beginer harmonica player, would you advice to learn playing from your tuning instead of first learning from standard tuning?

    • @willharmonicawilde
      @willharmonicawilde  11 місяців тому +1

      I think it makes sense to learn Richter first so you understand it's limitations in the upper octave, but I do have a few students who started out on my tuning and have made excellent progress

    WILL, can I play the blues on just the LF harmonica . Can i get every key needed ? Thanks , Bob

    • @willharmonicawilde
      @willharmonicawilde  11 місяців тому

      Technically you can play every key on a low F if you can overblow, but I wouldn't recommend it, some keys/positions will be much easier then others

    • @willharmonicawilde

      Hi Bob, good question. Various techniques (tone, vibrato, bending etc) plus knowing which notes to use and how to phrase with them (ie using the blues scale to improvise). I teach all of this in my Ultimate Blues Harmonica Soloist course. More info here: www.willwildeharmonicamasterclass.com

    Hey Will in the hoochie coochie bit did you play 2 lines of that and then 4 lines of checkin up on my baby kind of style ? and for those 6 lines was it an 'A' version/key of your rock tuned harp ? Also for those 6 lines that you played as far as I know they can be played in what I think is 3rd position (starting on 1D) on a Richter - so on your rock tuned harp can you get the 2 for 1 like you were doing in 2nd position that is going up to 4D and playing the same lines whilst in 3rd position ? cheers😀😎

    • @willharmonicawilde
      @willharmonicawilde  11 місяців тому +1

      Yeah those licks are from Checkin' Up, I was just trying to play licks that people would be familiar with so they could understand what I was doing in holes 2,3,4 and see how it can just be moved up to holes 6,7,8. The upper octave lays out slightly different to playing in 3rd Position. Basically holes 6,7,8 are just the same as 2,3,4 (and 9 is like 2 again) so anything you do in the lower octave, you can do the same way in the upper octave.
