Resampling can get your music from good to great. Resampling is a music production technique where you process your sounds and render them into a new track. With resampling you can create many different sounds, textures and even ear candy.

Very creative. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video
My favourite re-sampling technique is to make a synth patch that uses a lot of sample and hold, then I’ll make a quick little midi region and bounce in place until I’m happy with the result, from there you load the audio file into a sampler and chop it. This is really great for bass music, but it can work in lots of genres.
That's great! Using random sources as SH gives a lot of nice surprises
i need to do this more
It's easy and fun :)
This is a fantastic tip. Would love to learn more about sampling.
Thank you! I can plan more sampling videos :). Any topic you're more interested in?
@@AlexReidStudios Yes I do have a topic! I'm experimenting a lot with building sounds with my new Moog One. I like the idea about processing the analog instruments afterward to add more clever digital things, but I'm not sure what one can actually do. Also lets say I use Sample Robot to sample many keys, how would one move over those digital changes to all the keys when they may have different pitch. I could of course imagine simple things like using EQ, a comb filter and maybe blending with samples from other libraries but I sure you would know tons more clever things.
Thanks Alex those are really good ideas and easy to try out!
Thank you! That was the main focus :)
2:40 blew my mind
Thank you! I took that idea from an Ableton video. They didn't used XO tho
@@AlexReidStudios you’re a genius
Have you ever tried resampling these samples but playing with the master tempo? It's crazy!
I haven't! Sounds like a crazy idea
@@AlexReidStudios Try extreme automated speeds changes
Really good ideas, thanks for this! :)))
Thank you! Glad you liked them
@Alex Reid Nice tips! I know waves is not the most loved company.. However, their CR8 / Cosmos browser is similar to the XO browser, in case someone does not have XO and wanna do the instant percussion part :)
It's a great alternative tbh :). Thank you!
Loved the video and the tips Alex!!!
The XO one was my fav...
Also how does the chords at around 02:18 sound soo fat?? It it like a 7th on top of a triad or inversions???
Thank you!
It's a mixture of things. First I have G minor first inversion, then a weird C-D#-F chord (like a G major sixth without G), then D# second inversion and I finish with D# second inversion.
Also I layered a very very faint detuned sawthoot wave under the main sound
@@AlexReidStudiosWoah this sounds really interesting...
I'll try it tomorrow...
