Fatboy is the best! I got their tripod earlier this year when I would need one for the PRS stuff I've been learning. I have been very happy with mine. I have a "show it off" type video up when I first got it earlier this year. I went with the levitate head. As cool as the head is, I have found I end up just dropping my Game Changer bag on the head and plop my rifle down on it or use it as a solid surface for my binos to rest on. They are great! I think anyone who gets one will be very happy. I had somehow loosened my head locking lever, they were great at showing me how to push the lever out and rotate it up to get a better bite to lock it down tighter. Loads of adjustment built in to them, if you just learn how each part works.
@ThinLineDefenseCo It depends on the situation. If you are changing targets quickly, like I am in a PRS match, it's faster with a bag. If you are able to talk your time and get on target to take 1 slow shot (like a hunting situation at shorter distances), then locking in is better. I shot 5 crow targets from the tripod at my match yesterday, and they were 335 to 475 yards away. The bag was better for that. If they were pig targets at 200 to 300, locking to the ARCA and using the Elevate head would have been the way I went. Try them both and see which you like! All comes down to what works best for you. If you guys ever make it thru southwest Oklahoma, I have my own land that I have a cool place set up on. Loads of pistol targets and paths thru trees, plus my PRS practice set up with targets out to 750 yards. Would be happy to have you guys out for a video sometime and share some ideas on things like this. I'm just finishing filming my match review on my land right now. Time to start the fun part, editing, and making it look decent🤣 Have a great week!!
I’ve got the Elevate 2 section with Levitate head, I love it. The 3 section wasn’t out when I bought mine but I’d go with that if I was doing it over. Tougher to get into kneeling or sitting position without a lot of extra work with the 2 section.
The fatboy tripods DO focus more on durability and stability so yea it's gonna have a bit more weight. Weight always comes at a cost either up or down, particularly with a tripod.
This was very helpful since no instructions come with the ball head.

I heard a lot of guys like using a bag instead of a head. I need to try that too!

I really like the “upside down” leg feature. It seems easier to use on terrain that’s anywhere above sea level.
yea, using tripods a ton behind the scenes.....it's a lot easier from both camera and firearms.

Good point on those lower positions, didn't even think of that
How heavy are they to hump over distances?

Excellent video gents.
Good video!
