Are there directions somewhere, as to how this device connects to say a sig kilo 10k gen 2? You mention in this video that it’s already compatible with their applied ballistics devices.
@@anatoliyefimov4984 Once it is connected via the Anemotracker app it will give you a option to connect to a LRF, once you click on that it will give you a list of available devices nearby you can connect to.
Ordered one after seeing Eagle Ballistics link it to their app. Mine quit working 3 days after I got it. Things I learned, the AB applied ballistic one only works with applied ballistics stuff. It would not work with hornady app or the eagle ballistics app. It stays on all the time, there is no power button. There is no reset button, in fact there are no buttons. You have to link it to a device to use it and see battery level. It's fragile, very fragile, don't drop it. There is also no way to stop someone else at the range high-jacking your device by accident and knocking you out. In theory it looks great, I really wanted to like mine. I got a full refund after sending mine back. They tested it and said it needed a firmware update, but it would not link to my phone so I couldn't update it. I'll wait till they have a better version before I consider another one.
Yesthe one in their video is the normal Mini and not the AB one so will not work on those apps. They also, as mentioned in our video had a problem with the 1st batch of units that shipped out and either needs to be replaced or updated. All current units shipping out are good to go.
assume the dot will work with 4dov ballistics app that runs on the iPhone. a nice product idea would be if they join the temp,hum,pressure with the wdot. one unit to rule them all...

No I have not used the aiming sight but it works quite simple. You line the aiming mark on the Mini unit up with the aiming sight and then when using the aiming sight your Mini will line up perfectly.

Anyone know if it will work with the SIg Kilo2400ABS? I know you mentioned they work with Sig AB units but the unit is now a few years old and they haven't pushed out a boolot database update or firmware update for it in an age now. Would really be nice as the wind meter that comes with the unit requires you plug it into a headphone jack in your phone which most phones don't have any more. Thanks for the video!
Likely not, that devices comms protocol is outdated. It would require a pretty extensive update process. Right now this will work with BDX 2.0 and Gen 2 Sig stuff.
@@VENATICSGEAR So excited for this. Will work great with the set wind to DOF with the Kestrel. Just start with the first reference target and go. This will make inputing wind calls a bit easier or at least verify my wind calls. Will be nice when more things integrate with it. I like my Vector X, HUD and Kestrel combo so it's hard to leave for integrated RF binos - but eventually probably do that with this and a weather bug.
As an ISCET electronic degree, wireless charging greatly reduces battery life due to the heat transfer, is slower and requires the device having magnets... as an outdoor device, I can see it collecting metallic dust causing and issue.... not to mention USB-C charging is standardized and more than likely youll find a way to charge the device rather than relying on a priority charging pad YOU MUST have

@@VENATICSGEAR sometimes I would like to place it halfway to the target instead of at the firing line. When shooting 1000yds or wind at the firing line could be doing something else. A better scenario would be to place several to average the winds.
@@VENATICSGEAR as I said. Winds at the firing line are not always the same down range. The range I practice F Class long range shooting does not have flags. I can use one midrange to show me what the winds are doing halfway. During competition the ranges have wind flag on both sides spaced 100yds.

@@georgelza they do have a unit that is combined but seems that not everyone want it like that which is weird as I am with you on that one.
AB Mini will only work inside the AB Ecosystem.
Closed captions are useful for people with impaired hearing and especially when the narrator has a somewhat unfamiliar accent.

@@Spessforce It won't work sufficiently as it needs a bit more height to get accurate data. Will work but I won't advice doing it.

Calypso admits an inbuilt error of +/- 1kmh (0.3ms @ 10ms). Have you noticed this, and whether it affected any shooting solutions?

@@OSOK7 Yes the WeatherDot send enviromentals or the app pulls it from your phone. The Calypso gives wind speed, direction and data.
