I think my favorite line is "And today I will trust you with the confidence Of a man who's never known defeat And I'll try my best to just forget That that man isn't me." This says to me that I will trust in You God like Jesus (a man whose never known defeat, not even DEATH!) trusted in You but I will also remember that I am not Jesus so I know I will get down sometimes, I may still sin, but through it all I am still going to trust in my Lord. SO AMAZING!!!!
+Sabrina Berres That line never stops humbling me before the Lord. He is a mighty God and I am blessed to have his grace even though I will never deserve it.
The verse of the song "And you said I know that this will hurt, but if I don't break your heart then things will just get worse." Can be applied to some of my past secular relationship I knew I should have not gotten into as a believer. So to those girls, forgive me for not setting the best example of what a follower of God through Christ should have been. Choose your relationships wisely.
"when the burden seems too much to bear, remember: the end will justify the pain it took to get there." always, always, always remember that. i'm beginning to.
"Reach out to me... make my heart brand new.... Every beat will be for You.... For You......" My life's falling apart. This should have been my prayer a long time ago. Sometimes I don't understand why I only turn to God in tragedy. He deserves more than that... He deserves to have me always. But it's truth, in tragedy I turn to Him. I pray that in happiness to come, if it ever comes again, I will not forget Him. I've done that far too often. (God, I'm Yours.
I love how this song(at least to me) isn't about having your love stand with you when you fall. It's about getting hurt and wanting to give up but knowing that it will all make sense after you've fought your way back up. The people who break your heart may do it out of hatred or spite, but it makes you a better and stronger person afterwards.
@pialishes I am right there with you in the exact same spot. I can barely function this week it feels like my heart is being ripped out. But I know that I cannot stay with him. Sometimes it is everything I can do at night not to call, to see him. All I can cling to is that my Lord is faithful, He won't leave me here and He has a purpose to saying no.
Thiessen has always had very deep and insightful, yet clever lyrics--blending real-life (raw) experiences with the humor of hindsight. I've always appreciated this.
I just wanna say 1 thing. There is a song for every moment in my life by Relient K and I love every one of their songs that I have listened to. The most opposite and incorrect thing i could think about them is that they are shallow. They are deeper than the Marianas Trench.
this song has great meaning: about how sometimes God has to bring u to ur knees to bring u back to him. Sometimes we get so focused on the worldly things that we lose sight of God, so sometimes God has to take those things away, so we can have peace and happiness once again.
My strength comes from the Lord who made even and earth. Jesus loves me this I know… I am weak, but He is strong!🌈❤️🩹💔🙏🏻✝️♥️🦋🎶 ♥️God is good♥️ July 2 2022
I love this song especially, but this whole album has been with me through some of my roughest times in life and I keep finding myself coming back to it only to find more meaning and life in them. Sometimes it’s to revisit old feelings and “let it all out.” I really hope they do a 20th anniversary tour of this album.
I know this song is about God or break ups for some people, but this song is a whole mood about school right now. Just started going to back to school for my degree while working full time, just gotta keep telling myself the degree will justify the crying, late nights, etc… I hope lol
o.o just relizing this, theres a bit of lyricsd for High of '75 (or maybe some of thses lyrics in hight of '75, eh either way i guess) but it says "when you touched my heavey heart and made it light" kool :P
Cool song . but I don't think it has nothing to do with god . just a guy that its going through a bad time . but in time the wounds will heal . and there are people that change us from being sad to being happy . idk IMO
gods not mad at them for not wanting a relationship, he cant force them to hav a relationship with him, it saddens him deeply but hes not mad, i would not believe in god if every person who didnt hav a relationship with him was destined for hell, that doesnt seem very godly to me.
This song is everything I want to say to you, but I can't ever tell you because it will only make things harder.. It will only hurt you more to keep reminding you.. I never wanted to hurt you and I hate myself everyday knowing I did.. You deserve so much more than anything I could ever give you.. I just hope one day you will understand I did what I did for you.. =/
Actually on second thought, I recant my previous position. He can break hearts if the end justify's the means. For instance, if someone finds Christ and has a girlfriend who is an unbeliever. That girl will hold him back so I can see God saying, 'I have to break your heart by having her leave, but the end result is beautiful." So yes, God will break a heart, or seem to break a heart in our eyes, but what He is really doing is making it better.
Wow, I must admit, I am very impressed by your point. I see what you are saying and I never would have looked at it that way. God doing something for us that is best in the long run but seems hurtful in the shortrun. Wow very impressive miss! lol. That's a thing that humans can do so easily too, sometimes we think we know best when we really don't! Hm I couldn't find the song by Lifehouse. What is it called?
Yeah I see what you mean, but like one part of the lyric says, "And you said I know that this will hurt, but if I don't break your heart then things will just get worst." God doesn't break hearts He heals them. But I realize what you are saying though, I don't mean to be anti-God or anything. :)
Agreed! so in this song, "But if I don't break your heart..." Key word there is I. God doesn't break hearts Himself. So the but if I don't break your heart wouldn't be applicable to Him.
Um why are the you's capatalize in the chorus? He is talking about a girl breaking up with a guy and telling him that it is for the better in the long run. That isn't about God.
@disarm62 My friend and I play this game when we're having a bad day. Negatives vs. Postitives. You write out on a sheet of paper everything that's upset you or made you mad throughout the day, but then write a postitive that came out of it and thank God for that. A lot of the time our positive are really silly so we can just make eachother laugh :) Hope this helps and remember God still loves you as much as He did before
first i never complained about my petty problems second you said you've never heard of christians being persecuted and i'm just trying to prove you wrong third you said being a christian is not painful and i'm just trying to enlighten you and tell you being a christian is not always easy fourth lighten up man, its just a simple conversation, don't take it as i'm trying to kill you if you dont agree with me
ok, look, I'm not saying negative stereotypes are not applied to Christians as much as some other groups. All I'm pointing out is that the wide scale intolerance which I hear many Christians speak of simply does not exist. I will acknowledge that atheism is gaining strength, but once again that is simply a disdain for all religion, Christianity just falls into the category. I'm saying that, I, as a Christian have never been persecute nor any Chrisitians I know.
I'm interested by the statement concerning how Christians are this oppressed and hated group. Aside from those who have contempt for religion in general, I haven't met a single person who hates Christians. Seriously,"all the pain, all the grief, all the being hated"? I'm confused. Your the single largest religious organization in the world today. Even those who aren't fond of Christianity just think those who follow it are stupid. They don't hate them. Either way, great song and great band.
@disarm62 What I would say is. Trust the Lord. Trust he will get you though it. He uses the worst times in our lives to teach us the most important lessons. I had to learn that the hard way. And if you wanna talk about anything, feel free to inbox me. I'll be praying for you man!
I can't believe that just happened, I literally missed the like button and hit the dislike and the computer is being mean and not letting me rectify that slip up, regardless a hundred percent agreed brother
if Satan is the true an almighty Lord, why hasn't overthrown God yet. Also, same goes for God, if he's so awesome. why hasn't he killed Satan yet? seems a pity. Either way awesome song, I love Relient K.
"You said I know this will hurt, but if I don't break your heart things will just get worse." I don't have the heart to tell that to my boyfriend. But I know I have to.
i dont even know why they are considered that to tell you the truth, but if you ask itunes what ex. mindless self indulgence is they say alternatice to who cares
yeah i am, i was born in a christian home and everything but for the most of my life i didnt live like one until VERY recently what turned you away from God?
oh hey problem, everyone has those days. it was a pretty good...debate shall i say?? i'm not going to lie, your christian knownledge is pretty intense, hoow?
I think my favorite line is "And today I will trust you with the confidence
Of a man who's never known defeat

God will never abandon you

"when the burden seems too much to bear, remember: the end will justify the pain it took to get there."
always, always, always remember that. i'm beginning to.
i think their best song and the song that means the most to me is "apathetic way to be. everything they say is so true
"Reach out to me... make my heart brand new....
Every beat will be for You....
For You......"
My life's falling apart.

+jaclyn hill thank you so much 😳
Aw, that song was very good. I had never heard it before. You did a pantomime to it? So like a play type deal? That must have been really cool.
Thanks Jaclyn Hill!

The amazing thing about lyrics is that they can mean different things to different people.

If you hate Rk, Why the fudge did you click on the song? To complain? Well, go run to your mommy ad complain to her, cause we don't wanna hear it.

Hoopes has such a nice voice. I wish he'd sing more.

God.. This explained what happend between me and my bf sorta.. o-o
put the words trust a man in your song and apparently you become the new prophet

oh, lol, sorry about getting a bit too intense. I just was just having a bad day and was kinda freaking at everyone. no hard feelings?
oh, inconsistent me, crying out for consistency...
All thanks to my girl Jaclyn Hill❤️
i understand now...if he didnt break my heart then...i would hav loved him more nd more then i would be even more depressed
Agreed wif moreohmusic ... I find it quite a little bit insulting , then a little bit praising .
Not to direct la ...
Me and my friends laugh at the first part cause it makes of think of taking a crap....LOL
@castlevaniadude98
I agree with you 100% i love like every single song of theres they are SOOO Amazing!! :P
oh inconsistent me.. (my fav part)
i know you know what it means, you just dont know about persecution.
and yes Christians do get persecuted.
I think its another member of the band, I've heard the same voice in several other of their songs too.
@wonnthree well, that's older ppl music now. Things always change. Trends, style, names, and even music
wait, what are you talking about? yes, i do know what persecution means. what are u reffering to? the persection of Christian?
I will always love this song and this band. Always.
I find it hard to believe this came from the same band that made which to bury us or the hatchet
