I think Relient K must have followed me around writing songs about me. I was a perfectionist for 20 years. It made me depressed and suicidal. I succumbed to self-injurious behavior. Even as a "Christian" who went to church and got straight A's in Bible class. It wasn't until I went to college and had a breakdown that I met the real Jesus, not the fake one my old church paraded around. He changed my life. I still struggle with perfectionism, but I'm no longer a suicidal mess. Thank you, Lord.
That's such an encouragement to hear. I know that it's hard to get out of that kind of behavior. But God is gracious, he helps us and then helps us again if we mess it up. Thank you for sharing.

I feel the same, pal. I'm not religious but this song really helps keep my spirits up especially now. I recently graduated university and so far I've had zero luck in finding work. It wouldn't be so bad if not for the fact any friends I made at college have moved back with their families so I'm alone as well. I have trouble finding positivity in myself with every rejected job application for part time work and the lack of finding opportunities for jobs related to my degree. Eventually I begin to feel it's all my fault but this song really helps me remember that that isn't true and that I do have talent worthwhile and that my time will come. Thank you Relient K
I love that! I'm sorry you don't see fellow Christians standing up & being willing to help their fellow believers. I know locally in these past few wks, Christians have helped me out tremendously. @RqesVT Human's are fickle, we forget that God is so much more than our problems. We're broken when we come out of the womb, and often we get broken and let ourselves be broken by the world. God is faithful though, and suicidal thoughts and even actions are covered by Jesus' blood. So yes, it can happen, and our God can handle that brokeness. Just look at the story of prophet Elijah: he was suicidal but eventually came around 1st Kings 19:4. Hope you're doing well borther.

@JasonApun I applaud you for posting your struggle here, I know that must of been a scary and desperate thing to do. Everyone struggles & feels distant from God, even the strongest Chrsitians. I have a friend who is one of the strongest Chrsitians I know, but she has bitten off more than she can chew & it's cause her to be overworked, she's taking on too much responsibilty, trying to get ahead of the Lord.
Even with the fast beat and punky guitars this song makes me cry, it's just so close to home for me. It's such a theme song for people who feel like they're just part of the decor in their own life.

when i was in 10th grade i had a relient k episode. i was a new fan and i got two lefts and anatomy. when i heard they were coming out with a new cd i was excited, and when i heard this song, they forever cemented themselves as my favorite band.
i first heard of relient k about 5 years ago but it wasnt until this year that they became my favorite band because their music and relateable lyrics got me out of deppression
i like how the lyrics are both singing to god or they could be a love song thats why relient k is soo good you can look at it both ways and their songs are feel good songs

And yes, there were a number of states not founded by christians, but all were drafted in under the same constitution and rules which were founded on christian principles so in essence, even though many groups founded america, the rules that form the country are based largely on christian beliefs.
This song saved my best friend and I from complete insanity..we both lost the two most important people in our lives around the same time and we didn't know how to cope because being so young and trying to raise yourself is hard but in the end things work out thanks to God

I'm no die hard christian, and personally I don't really care about religion, but this band is great. It doesn't matter what you think. If you believe it's god seeing something in you great, I see it as everyone has something that makes them. No one is useless. Even if they think they are. No one can know the impact they have on someone. But they do. There will always be one person who was changed by someone.

@bigmam0 its a difficult thing to explain think about this. instead of the doctor we have a refinery ( u know like they use for gold...oil...beer?) and instead of the "you" they have gold ore right? in order to get the best most pure gold - the gold ore has to go through extreme heat and pressure which as a very human peice of gold ore, hurts... sucks but its the way of nature and with God by ur side u r not just stuck in there alone, u have the ability to know where u are and what u r 2 become
You do not have to listen but maybe they are posting or "preaching" because they feel like God is telling them to. We cannot make you do anything you do not want to do. We cannot make you become a Christian. But we can tell you what God is putting on our heart and then the Holy Spirit can work in your heart. i'm 14 years old, i go to church etc & i believe in god and tbh im fed up with everyone dissing people just because of there religion, i listen to slipknot, flyleaf relient k and paramore etc and i don't think it matters what your religion is, it does not prohibit you from listening to any kind of music, it annoys me, people forget the fact that slipknot are christian, and they say that there anti-christ and stuff, well there not, there songs have meaning, and feeling, not just people screaming
