As a dyed-in-the-wool Cornhusker fan, I can say that The Canes always left me heartbroken, around 11pm, New years day. Then in 95' the heartbreak finally ended, when the Huskers defeated a top-notch Cane team, that featured Ray Lewis and Warren Sapp, respectively. I believe the Canes are scheduled to play Nebraska in Lincoln, come the 2014 season. That being said, I have a tremendous amount of respect for the Canes, Hopefully, 2014 season showdown will be a classic one.

Gotta give credit to the Canes - that '91 defense was something else, and we obviously couldn't handle it. However, one of my favorite games to watch is the '95 Orange Bowl, as Nebraska plays some D themselves and uses the Power I to wear down the Miami defense led by Warren Sapp and Ray Lewis.

Rusty Medearis was a monster and still is a GREAT guy! I know him pretty well. His knee is completely messed up still, but at 40, he's in great shape and is one of the smartest guys I know. He told me that his talent as a player came from being able to "see" the ball almost before it was snapped. He said he felt like he had a a jump on the O line every play. The fact that he could squat 600 and clean and jerk 320 didn't hurt. Still, it is sad he got hurt. Would have been cool to see what he co

Deceptive record - about mid-season that team's defense just started to click and turned into the Desert Swarm (Teddy Bruschi was the anchor). They upset #1 Washington also at home, so they were not to be taken lightly. The following year, I think they went 10-2 and were a top 10 team.

Another Nebraska team that had no passing game. I remember when the audio went out. We grabbed the Radio, put it on the TV and turned it on. I remember seeing the news the next day. They showed the transformer room that blew out, this was start of the end of the OB. I can't recall the dollar amount, but it was like around 5 million the city had spent on the OB refurbishment and it was an embarrassment for the city of Miami. They spent millions of dollars and it still look like garbage.

Actually I'm a 30+ year Cane fan. I would love to know what source would rank Miami's schedule 2nd toughest in 1992. Miami never has a schedule ranked in the top 10. NEVER. When you play Florida A&M(Not Div 1), Temple(dropped football), San Diego St, TCU, Arizona(6-5-1), West Virginia. I don't think any publication could have that schedule ranked 2nd?? that is just comical.

There are things you have to deal with at Miami that you don't have to deal with anywhere else- so said Tommy Tuberville, ex cane Assistant and future Auburn HC. For one thing living in South Florida is unlike anywhere else it's like living in a Latin American country. English is a second language there. If you can deal with that you'll be fine.

NO because I go back to Michigan and FSU that yr. and how many points Michigan scored on FSU If MIAMI and WASHINGTON would have played I think WASHINGTON would have scored 28 Miami 18. MIAMI was over rated remember Miami Vs Alabama in 1993 what happened.

miami had too much speed and would've blown them out no matter how talented washington was that year if you couldn't keep up with miami's speed back then you were more than certainly screwed

The O-Line Problems which the Defense was able to cover for were exposed in that game, by Alabama's great D-Line It was not the dismantling of the Hurricanes that was a Senior dominated team which the entire LB core ended up being drafted by the NFL and the 1993 team had to start over with a little known LB from Lakeland in the middle
