That fact the DJ Williams is out there catching TDs,actually got drafted as LB in the first round tells you how good and deep this team was
Should’ve won 3 back to back to back national championships if it weren’t for the everyone hating the U
Unbelieveable how SC makes a statement in the Rose Bowl and BOOM, you get a split natty. But the Canes dominate UF and nothing.
Bowden was able to use his popularity to get into that BCS game that he had no business being in,
Cory Karhoff while I do agree that Miami should’ve played in that game instead of FSU, that is not a very good argument. USC split the title because They were both 1 loss teams that should’ve played each other. In this case, OU was undefeated and shut down the #3/#2 team in the Natty. Shouldn’t of been split, because based on that alone, OU was more deserving.
We got robbed . The history would have been too much for them to bare . 3 times they got nervous ijs..
Your RIGHT....
AMERICA needed Ohio state to win SO BAD that the refs found a way to make up a phantom call and send the game into overtime.
College football was so much better when Florida, FSU, and Miami were all good every year.
Used to love hearing musburger call these classic games. I literally saw every Miami game from 1983 to now. Over 35 years of loving my team, been thru the sanctions & all the championships. Go Canes!
Enjoy youtube, now miami is NOTHING. GO Clemson Tigers#1
And we got robbed out of one national championship game an got robbed out of going to like 2 or 3 more that we would of won hands down I still love my canes since 1987
@@rocjones6543 now your screaming go tiger's when they are on the map your probably one official those guys that likes Dallas Yankees an the Lakers there's a bunch of those band wagon jumpers
@@timgloeckler8636 the pass interference call made by ref vs ohio state was the worst call in a championship game in the history of college football. 🙌👍💪
@@rocjones6543 we got your AD :)
Butch's teams were just getting into their championship groove. They deserved to be playing for the title in this game. Loved it!
the 2001 miami team may have been the best college football team ever.
Was still is!!!! Doubt the perfect dynamics of that perfect Storm will ever occur again. We can only hope. 2022-23 looking good with TVD at the helm with Coach Cristobal and esteemed Coaching staff!! Hurricanes are looking GOOD 👍. Can't wait. Let's Go Canes!
That argument always comes down to us and Tommy Frasier's neb. The funny thing is, I don't even think that woulda been close. One o Jimmy's fav quotes was you gonna come at me w a one deminsional offense, your toast. Look what he did to Switzer and Tom Osborne, and Jimmy loved to rub it in
Dan Morgan was unreal
Yessssir
It’s still a travesty that that Miami team didn’t get a National title, it should have been 3 in a row and who knows what the rest of the decade would have looked liked.
This team would of crushed OU. I forgot about Sebastian running out to celebrate the TD. That was great.
that OU squad was overrated
Bobby mickey I’m sure FSU thought so too
@@theanimationlads7598 Nah OU was just overrated. Lucky Miami wasn't there.
I love what coach Stoops said when ask if Miami deserved to play my Sooners. His answer was "if any team wanted to play us they should not have lost".. He did not even name the other team. ha ha ha ha ha and ha. He did speak the truth. Woulda, shoulda and coulda, just wont get it.
Sebastian got flagged for unsportsmanlike so the extra point got moved back. Then I believe Miami had another penalty so the kick was made from like 45 yards.
"He & Jared Payton next year or gonna be a tremendous duo at tailback" .. Frank Gore, Willis McGahee: "uh hold my Gatorade"
We had the best college teams all time period go canes Ohio state didn't win that game we got cheated hands down an 9 times out of 10 we would of beat Ohio state that year
Who would have thought....that the replacement for Kenny Dorsey was coming from the Gator sideline!
To think If they didn’t have farts in church against Tennessee and Virginia Tech in 03 could been in another natty vs most likely USC.
When have to be the only school tht has been robbed the most I'm NCAA history
Of course. We are the team they never wanted to dominate. They've castrated our program and you can guarantee the destruction of The U was started from within. The NCAA is a very currupt business, (look how they did SMU). We need to start considering our own adminstration and athletic departments could be taking outside pay to deliberately make bad hires or implement poor systems which won't win games.
Its awesome watching this now and seeing all the superstars that came out of this team, reed wayne, moss, shockey, portis, even lb DJ Williams playing some offense.
The loss in Seattle killed it for Miami
Jason, Dorsey's first start, then he never lost again till his last game Sr year. Helluva run
so many pros on this team! Go Canes! Coming from a Washington Husky.

I was at this game & it was lit in New Orleans. Got Shockeys gloves that he wore during the game. Unreal couple of days.
These videos make me kinda sad. I miss seeing the 'canes at the top playing and winning in these big bowl games. I hope the 'canes get back in the national title race and play in big bowl games this year.
Wow, was this team loaded. Thanks Butch.
Testing, testing, is this thing on... I pray that you are watching this Coach Manny. We NEED to be 'the team to beat again'. Move us forward... The 🙌
I hate to say it but Manny isn't are man we need a big name good recruiting coach that knows Florida talent again love canes since 1987
Miami has more national championships. Miami leads the series against Florida. Miami has had more all-americans. In the last 10 years Miami has declined and by no coincidence Florida got better b/c they recruited players that normally would go to Miami.
Fair criticism. As a gator fan, our coaches and boosters are probably more discreet about paying their recruits
@@puesbien all the big schools are😂
Edgerian James 1999,James Jackson 2000,Clinton Portis 2001,Willis McGahee 2002,Jarrett Payton 2003,Frank Gore 2004 they just keep producing quality RBs year after year
Future Pro Bowlers and Hall of Famers in this game. Oh and Florida played in this game, too.
The best team in college football won this game.
Miami is the true 2000 National Champion.
They woulda wiped their ass with Oklahoma.
It's a joke.
Imagine if 2000 Miami played 2001 Miami I’m really not sure which squad was better.
Wow. I was in middle school when we had the snub - championship - pass interference and now that I look at it Ken Dorsey had kind of a crappy arm slot and less than stellar ability. I guess it was Santana Moss, Andre Johnson, and Reggie Wayne doing all the work. I remember seeing the ball go sky high, the camera panning, and Santana being right under it.
BEST VID OF THE WEEK!! thank you for bring back these ole so good memories... im about to fix another drink and watch this video 100 times..... GO CANES!!
I love the canes since 1987 an we got robbed out of one national championship an got robbed out of going to 3 more an have the best college team of all time love canes an I'm from Harrisburg p.a. big up canes fans
Speed all over the place damn Go Canes!!
I can't believe you left out a replay of the Ibis getting a personal foul! One of my favorite parts, and one of the most famous.
Nice work though. Very fun.
@canefreak2001 And while you're at it, the 2002 UF game is nowhere to be found but it was easily the most dominant UF beatdown we've had. Willis' highlights alone are worth watching. Thanks as always bro'.
From 2000 - 2004 Miami was 5-0 vs Florida State and 4-0 vs Florida.... We need to get back to owning our little brothers again.
I don't understand why that 30 for 30 special on Miami spoke critically of Butch Davis; I actually think he was a great coach who assembled the team that won the 2001 title, and almost won the 2002 title. Larry Coker just rode the momemtum that Davis started.
The AP should’ve given Miami the National Championship this year!
Reed, Moss, Shockey, Wayne, Morgan, Portis, 1/2 the O-Line, and several others: still in the NFL. Where's Grossman now?
Miami lost to Washington in 2000 that basically ruined their chances at a national title that year. Washington was the deserving party that year, they beat Miami head to head but the BCS computers snubbed them.
We all have our opinions. I'm married with a great wife and 2 kids. I own my own business, I'm active in my church, a 6 handicap golfer, I go to the gym 3x a week, I have coached most of my kids youth sports, I have a great group of friends and enjoy nice vacations with the family a couple times a year. If that is a loser then that is what I am, lol. I earned 10 varsity letters in high school in 4 sports and I played college ball. I have a college degree as well. You just got owned.
Good to see you have calmed down. I do enjoy sharing ideas, opinions and facts about college football and especially Florida college football. Have a great day!
FINALLY!! I couldn't even find pics of this game on google. THANKS!
They would've beaten OU in that title game. Instead Florida State got the biased decision and got rolled.
Big time players make big time plays in big time games#go🙌🏿🙌🏿
this team was soo deep that DJ Williams, who was a 1st rnd draft pick at OLB, was playing TE and caught a TD pass. C-A-N-E-S-CANES!
This game shoukd've been a blowout. Coker's playcalling was great until he got inside the 20. Then he ran out of ideas and we had to kick all those damn FGs. This 2000 team just may have been better than the 2001. Maybe. They were playing harder and sharper.
...and Jeremy Shockey. It really is amazing to hear all these NFL names.
Yes, you are right....UM fans living in the NOW are saying...I hope we become relevant again because we haven't been very good for a long time.
The reason it's a bad thing is that Cane fans are not saying "i hope we can get back to being good again"....they are saying..."we got 5 rings.....we are the U" which is idiotic.
Calm down. I respect all of Miami's past success and it's rich history including all the great NFL players. I don't care much for the typical Miami fan. I will continue to support the Canes.
Two NFL Hall of FAMERS on THIS TEAM
1.Reggie Wayne
2. Ed Reed
Next years 2002 team will have 4
1. Ed Reed
2.Frank Gore
3. Vince Wilfork
4. Andre Johnson
Brent was legendary in calling these games
Liked Jackson much better. Brent had too much of an ego.
I won't even lie..
..I miss Butch Davis and his services. He took us from absolute garbage back to something serious. These insanely talented recruits came even with the program under probation and sanctions.
I love Randy, but if we still had Butch.. Just look what he's assembled in regards to defense at UNC..granted they're getting caught up in some nasty stuff.. but still.
"I think we should be national champions." - Butch Davis
Damn right you were that year. Fuck the computers.
I'm pretty damn confident they'd have generated a little more offense than what FSU had to offer even with Weinke at the helm.
yall out yall mind miami woulda spanked ou they lucky they played fsu...they only had 13pts against them n fsu played without snoop minnis might i iadd...mia had the greatest players on one team from 2000-2003 hands down the numbers dont lie check the draft as well ou got lucky n they know it mia shoulda been champs 3yrs str8
@ellisd53562 Yes, that exactly happened. Butch Davis was furious at Sebastian and the extra point was like 50 yards or so, it was crazy. Most of my family is from Wisconson too! Well, your prediction was right! Thanks for checking out the vid
The FSU Um games need to be played like in the 90's and early 00's.
Florida was young that year and if they didn't hiccup against Tenn there would have been a rematch in the 2001 National Title and there would have been a real game
yeah you're right.. i don't know why i didn't think of that before.
That team is stacked
2000 UM 37 UF 20
2002 UM 41 UF 16
2003 UM 38 UF 33
2004 UM 27 UF 10
2008 UF 26 UM 3
2013 UM__ UF__
Can't wait.
Every team that has won a National Championship most likely has it posted somewhere... in the stadium, around the school... Miami isn't the only team that does this. Everyone does it.
LOVE THIS.......
Love those Canes but they need to get back to being a major power. Since 2003 they have been a second rate program. Third rate in the state of Florida (behind UF & FSU). The good news is that the potential for them to be great is still there. They just need someone to help them tap into it. Hopefully Al Golden is the man.
Davis, along with Schnellenberger and Johnson were each the "man". Coker and Shannon were fine decent men but seemed ill suited for the job they were given.
wow , i didn't even know moss and wayne were on that team . the U were deep my goodness.we need a playoff system in college football.
I TOTALLY AGREE!!!
Dorsey laid an egg in the 1st half...still young.
How in the heck did Sebastion walk into the endzone like that in Miami's last TD lol
Those Miami teams were full of future NFL pro bowlers.
Imagine having a wideout as good as Santana Moss graduate and then replacing him with Andre Johnson..
Actually USC won 2 NC's in the 1960's and 3 NC's in the 1970's....remember OJ Simpson and Mike Garret, Charles White and Marcus Allen....all won the Heisman, As far as the SEC goes, Tennessee won a NC in 1998 and Georgia in 1980, Auburn won won in the 1950's I think. Miami being down is no big deal. They weren't even on the Map until 1981....they just had a nice 20 year run.
@CaneFan423 Here is a little research on SOS(strength of schedule) Typically Florida has the tougher SOS every year...here is the last 4 years: 2011-UF (19) UM (44), 2010-UF (14), UM (13), 2009-UF (27) UM (18), 2008-UF (4) UM (44). Florida's highest lowest ranking is 27 and Miami 's is 44(2X). If you look at it historically the Gators have a tougher schedule than Miami virtually every year. Would love to switch conferences for a year and see how Miami does in the SEC.....Hope this is sinking in.
Ncaaal always against us..we are the true 3 peat champs
Absolutely!
Butch Davis put the pieces together, but Coker was his offensive coordinator
Oklahoma beat 3 top 10 teams all in a row in October. They were not to be denied and they would have handled this Miami squad. It should have been OU vs Washington anyways.
Canes could of won 4 BCS bowls in these 4 years with these kids....
najeh davenport looked like a tank in this game.
davenport had such a beast facemask. its the same one natrone means wore when he played for the chargers.
Yo, do you must have a vault of all the best games. I've got the 1999 Miami vs Ohio State kick off classic that I'm thinking about editing and uploading. Thanks for sharing.
I know, but that show spoke negatively about Davis, when I actually think he did a good job
The 2000 and 2001 teams didn't have All-Americans. They had All-Pros.
@knightguy11 About this reply to my comment about the schedules... I meant to say the upcoming season. I didn't mean to say for the past few years. We are playing Notre Dame in the regular season this year. Those were the teams that Florida, UCF, and Miami have scheduled for this upcoming season if you noticed.
This team got f'd out of a chip man, that chip fswho got is ours. Got f'd out of another w notre dame and Jimmy. Then Vinny having that day in the Fiesta was another. Shyt we should have at least 3 more chips. By this time this team was dialed in, fla in a no win situation here, plus lost the street fight the night before. The next year, is the greatest team ever assembled, Tommy Frasier's neb, please that wouldn't even be a game
As a fan of Tha U since the 80's, its sad to see what our program has become since 2003. (our last great year)...we have been in this rut that seems to have consumed the dolphins, panthers, marlins. The last 8-10 years has not been good to any south fla team. Hell even tha U baseball team sucks when we use to be dominant in baseball as well. Our bball team in 98-2000 was awsome as well. since then crap. no idea why south fla sports sucks this decade.
@xchargerOUx
You can't seriously be comparing what FSU did against Miami in 2000 to what they couldn't do against Oklahoma in 2000.
MiamiVsFSU games are on an entirely different level, regardless of how bad or how good either team is. One of them falls off and yet pulls off an upset, the other falls off and gets crushed, etc.
During the early 2000's, BOTH teams understood what it meant to play for their respected schools and understood what it meant to play against each other.
Playoff system doesn't help the Canes going 7-5 every year, lol. FYI: we have a playoff system in 2014.
Worst Horse collar tackle ever at 7:50 lol it was still legal at the time. Go Canes
@churchshoes2003 I know!! We should have so many more nat. titles than 5. Sorry, but I only make the highlights of the games and I already gave the game back from where I got it from. Go Canes!
They Got Jobbed in 00 and 02. Should have been a 3peat.
damn man. santana, wayne, ed reed, shockey and portis
To name a few
Dan the Man!
@01CanesrdGOAT Haha , i have some connections for the dvds. how did u find the kickoff classic against osu. u should def. make a vid for that. That would b awesome to c.
One of the reasons Barry Switzer still to this day hates Jimmy Johnson
GreAT Miami team, but the 94-97 Nebraska team is still the best no doubt.
@CaneFan423 You do realize that the ACC has 4 small private Universities, Miami, Duke, Boston College and tiny Wake Forest. Wake Forest won the conference in football a couple of years ago....they have like 7,500 students. I will continue to educate.
This is why florida quite playing miami every year. they knew miami would have kicked their ass every year
I agree but we are moving forward.
@MrChrisf5 Umm actually, 2001 highlights vs penn state, then sean taylor prob(which i already started on) and then ed reed video but i might be able to get more highlight games before that. does that sound alright??
@knightguy11 On top of that, our biggest loss of the season was to Maryland 32-24 (8 points). The game was actually closer than that if you watched it.
Kansas State, we were 1 yard away from winning.
VT was a hard fought game, we just came out on the losing end by only 3 points.
I didn't see the Virginia game so I won't comment on that.
The FSU game we didn't play well. Threw a pick in the red zone and played bad on special teams.
Didn't see BC game either.
Gators got beat on Bourbon and in the Shoer Dome! Lol
We all have our opinions don't we. Thanks for sharing.
i know what happened in 1996...the point is with the BCS or a playoff a rematch with UF and FSU would have never occurred because FSU already beat you that season...it would have been FSU vs ASU for the national title...
Even as a die hard FSU fan, I know Miami got fucked ! That showed how flawed the bcs truly was and we ultimately got a playoff 14 years later.
