As a Shopify Expert, I’ve built dozens of sites using Archetype themes. When I have to use other themes, it’s hard not to compare, and Archetype themes are beautifully built (backend) and coder friendly. Support is always top notch too. If you’re thinking of building a theme, study how they’ve done it and you can’t go wrong.
Great advice, 100% agree 🙌 :-)
Nice to be back....and great talk show..
Informative and really enjoyable. Thanks so much!
Great Jan!! 💯🤟
Thanks Mohsin!! :-)
Hi Jan, the video is excellent and having some information from experts is very helpful. But I noticed that you stopped doing any "development" videos for a long time (almost 1 year), Hope you get back to the development kind of videos. Thanks.
Thanks for uploading this Jan, one small critique is that I would not have the music looping throughout the entire video. Maybe it is just me but having the same loop running over for 45 minutes is not the best listening experience. Just my 2 cents though. Anyways thanks again for all the great information you provide.
Yes great feedback, especially with headphones it might be a bit too prominent this time!
Will definitely forward to the editor. Thank you! :-)
@Jan thanks for the nice content ❤️ Can you please ask him in the next video 1) How much a first time theme developer should expect to make with his theme, in his first year after publishing? 2) What is the average theme revenue per year 3) What are the variables that controls the shopify theme store ranking and how to increase the visibility there? 4) Is there any chance that a theme can make only few sales even it got approved by the shopify team and it's exposed to millions of merchants?
Hey Steve, thanks for the great feedback and these are awesome questions!
Would be super interesting to hear, maybe even from Shopify directly, cause they have all the data at hand.
@@CodingWithJan Oh sure i hope they can answer these questions it would be awesome. Usually people are uncomfortable to talk about financials. But it's important for a first time developer to know what he gonna get from investing 12 months in building a theme. Otherwise he can choose apps for example which are quick to build, have less requirements, and maybe have more potential in terms of revenue.
Thank God shopify theme's don't require any framework knowledge and thank you shopify tooo
Keep em pure 💎
Hey Jan could you make a tutorial video on how to add "add to cart" button on a collection page which will straight open cart drawer on the same page.
I would want to see the implementation on one of Archetype themes - namely Motion theme. Thanks in advance))))))
Really nyc content ❤️
awesome, glad you enjoyed! :-)
Custom Elements == Web Components
For the sake of completeness:
Web Components = Custom elements + Shadow DOM + HTML templates
Web Components ≈ Custom elements
Q.E.D. 😁
I like your content I think you should make course on how to make shopify theme
Thanks for the compliment! 😃
I'm sure building themes would be fun, but since I don't have my own theme listed on the Themestore, I wouldn't feel confident teaching that. What I feel very good about instead is helping people get started as freelance developers! :-)
Ohh that is Kelly from Kelly & Kelly
Can I redevelop an existing theme and sell it on Shopify?
I want to submit an "ugly" theme because the theme store themes are too pretty.
recommend high fashion then lol
