Powerful Pin-Point Damage Nightstar Build - Mechwarrior Online The Daily Dose
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 чер 2024
- Today I want to showcase an Inner Sphere Assault Mech that combines the pin-point firepower of two Autocannons with two Snub-Nose PPCs. This way you can deal an amazing amount of 60 damage to a single component and rip your enemies arms, legs and torsos apart.

I was the enemy Arctic Cheetah pilot in that first game. For context on why your team split and disintegrated, I was packing two fully-skilled arty strikes in that mech, which I dropped on the lagging assaults. You can see the red smoke from one of them at 5:14. I also had 2 max range/max duration uavs, which I tried to pop over your friendly Annihilator and friendly Awesome to spot for lurms and convince them to call for help and turn around. It worked, thank goodness, because while the Lanner and I were wreaking havoc on your backline, you were clearly pushing like a boss at the frontline and eating our main body for breakfast.
I have a lot of respect for you posting the game, since it clearly wasn't the ideal map for the loadout and your team lost it for you. But even with 300-400 points of artillery damage and 2 UAVs that lasted for minutes on end, you still managed to make it a very close game and damn-near carried it to the end. GG! Evil_GM
To me, the Nightstar always looks like he is wellcoming the incoming damage with open arms.
I LOVED you coaching the guy. I wish people were more supportive like that. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SPORTSMANSHIP!!!! You so rule.
That Cicada, tank of the year!
It seems madcat pilots fall in one of two camps:
Mercenary level bad ass that fight
Or
Backpedaling Lrm cowards with more c-bills than sense
As a pilot whose command Mech is the MCII-1 with dual Gauss and who falls into the former category, can confirm. I've seen so many potato players be completely ineffective with an otherwise incredible Mech.
Nice, I do this build on a King Crab. It's pretty amazing. :)
We had some games together when you played that Mech. Let's see if I made it on YT. Yep, first game. I remember that one. Dying early, but getting some kills and tanking the shit. :D
Thanks for your video, again!
tha
Very satisfying kill on the stealth light at 15:43 :D
GG's ! Bushwacker was tough! Cicada magic lol. Nightstar 👍
This build really good now Bara
I played a double Snubnose PPC + double LB20X NSR-9P when the Nightstar first dropped (after seeing The B33f running it) and it was a lot of fun. I wasn't good enough to get good use out of it, but all that burst damage was a blast when it worked.
That Cicada. 🙄 You ever see that movie "Pitch Black"? That scene where Vin Diesel is RIGHT UP in the creature's face, but it can't see him in the blind spot? THAT's why I hate the NightStar.
Ya, convergence on the ns is turrible. I use quad rac2s and try to engage at midrange.
@@donedeal8385 ? at 15:13 Bara nails multiple hits in a row on the Cicada. FIring left side/right side groups with pinpoint weapons seems to work out okay.
>420 potential damage only from AC...
>I AM ALMOST OUT OF AMMO
I think he said armor, not ammo
I saw the B33F playing this build when the mech came out. it can do some good numbers if you get it into position.
That Cicada in the 2nd match was tanky! Spread the damage around very well.
he was also too close for the wide Nightstar arm weapons to hit him
That Osiris pilot was painful to watch.
He was totally new and hadn't done his Mouse config probably.
We all have to start somewhere... just sometimes I wish they could start somewhere else...
@@Ezekielepharcelis looks more like joystick control for me, same thing with madcat pilot.
Not locking the target is the first sign...
@@Ezekielepharcelis what mouse config? There actually is no need to change mouse configuration for MWO.
@Baradul I have a similar build for my Atlas DDC. 1 AC20 + 2 Snubnose-PPC + bunch of rocket launchers.
This video tells us why you just don't put projectile weapons into wide spaced hardpoints. Nightstar has HUGE convergence problems. That's why so many PPC shots missed the enemies both point blank and at range. Lasers would be better there especially considering that this big cripple is not the fastest at twisting its torso.
Used to run the same weapons on a Mauler. Was never great, but so satisfying to shoot 😂
The cicada was taking advantage of the garbage convergence on this mech...like Vin Diesel in Pitch Black
"I'm afraid of the Nascar, so I'll start the Nascar"? xD
that Jeagermech is a TOUGH medium fire support mech
I have been running my Nightstar this way for a while. Probably from when this video came out. Was never a PPC fan but this is the only way I have success with this mech. Get fairly good results for me...not great, but good enough. I normally focus side torsos. Its my component destroyer!
Is it precision if your arms are in two separate postal codes?
soo baradul.. 32 episodes until #1000. Any plans for something on that video?..
He should do a mass Urbie team play. XD We all love Urbies. :3
@@eldrenofthemist2492 lol... the great urbiegeddon of 2019.. baraduls 1000's daily double super stream
@@akirasan1999 lol. XD
combination of cicada hitboxes and sketchy AC20 hitreg. I've noticed my ac20's hit different mechs and just pass through.
Running two AC20 and four snubs in an ANH for a while ;)
Maybe 2x UAC-10 and 1 ERPPC might solve the range issue?
Not pin point tho, and might be a bit toasty.
immortal cicada
I hve a similar build with gauss in the STs :)
and once again i ask,
are we ever going to see the MWO incarnation of the 95-ton Hauptmann from Mercenaries fame ???
Hey Bara, do you have any specific set on the graphics of the game to improve the performance of the graphic card on solaris city map?
"... Not like that though... " +switches spectate+ lol I do the same thing when my teammates make me cringe.
I like the punch this packs; but, I've had much more consistent wins with these two builds...
1) 2 UAC10 and 2 LPL
2) 3 UAC10
In fact #2 has been awesome, it actually makes the nightstar not be a horribly mediocre mech.
I don't know if there is a way to have a name copied, but I was killed by a Baradul today. Which was only mildly disconcerting as I am a tier 4 player XD I got what I had coming to me though. I made a silly mistake and was instantly like "This is a bad idea".
I am tier 4 too and had [BRxV] BrioS in the *enemy* team at Frozen City Classic today. Guess how it went... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
So I don't play mwo, but I like to watch.
Could you make an ac20s and lrm build work? Lrms for early damage until you are close enough to pop them with the big guns? Or is that too heavy and it would need to be like... Mpulses and lrms?
If you are going to brawl come ready to brawl! If you are going to long range then focus on long range. Trying to do both leaves you inadequate at both. Outfit for a particular role and play to it. No matter what, even if you are long range, always bring along a couple ML or SL to fight at the end when the large primary weapons are blown off or out of ammo. I do not know how many endgame wins I have had with my Archer 2R after all the LRMs are gone where I picked off the open components on the remaining mechs with the 4ML in the arms.
Not really. Long range short range combo makes you just so so at both ranges. One is also pinpoint while the other is spread damage. You could do lrm and srm combo like on the archer 5w. The weight for the srm is low enough to not limit your lrm strat.
JUST FOR LOVE OF GOD DO NOT RUN LRM ONLY! I do not know how many times I have seen an assault loaded up with LRMs and nothing else, standing in the backfield lobbing volleys over intervening terrain until as the last one left he gets hunted down and face punched. They then state how they pulled their weight because "look at my damage!" Of course your damage is good, you stood in the back raining fire over the entire battlefield without focusing on anything while your team died defending you. Better off having LOWER damage output which is more focused so it eliminated enemies while sharing the fire for the rest of you.
Generally you don't run LRM on an assault because it's a waste of tonnage and armor. It's not that you can't be effective as an assault lrm boat but that one less heavily armored mech off the front line. If the team is losing then you're just going to be destroyed at the end. You will reduce your team's overall win % wasting a heavily armored mech as a back line support.
@@Evan-wv4hz I could write a ton about tactics and how LRM Builds are useful and that there is no definite truth to that question. In the Past I have played and have seen Assault LRM Mechs dominate entire Enemy Teams and basically winning the match for their team. Also Molten Metal has shown often enough that LRM Builds can be extremely Powerful and much more problematic for the Enemy to handle than standard Dakka Mechs. But then I also need to admit that LRMs were nerfed too much and that makes them a bad pick nowadays (it was not always like that). But by nerfing them like they have been nerfed PGI deletes them from the Game and they are essential to have an interesting Game. They are like the Paper in the Stone/Scissor/Paper Game. Now imagine how funny a Game with only 2 of 3 vital Components is. There is a Reason why we got Lasers/Missiles/Autocannons. So all Weapon Systems got their benefits and no Weapon System should be able to dominate in every Situation. Another Reason is the Map Voting which should have been deleted since forever. When they introduced Map Voting they caused a massive emigration from the Game and MWO did not recover from that. It also destroyed the Game's Concept.
Pigs for teammates, what can you do?
Hey Baradul. You've got to try this load out. Madcat MCII-B. Qaud Ultra 5's two medium pulse lasers and two SRM 6's. Engine XL360. I've played ten games in a row and only got below 1000 damage twice. If you already have done this build i'll try to find it in your old videos.
SNPPC suck hard. Hits often do not register and it is just way too hot for a brawling weapon.
I run this Nightstar with 2AC20 + 2LL instead. Hell of a lot more reliable. Since you chain fire the AC20 you face the target for most of the LL burn time anyway.
Wow that nightstar really struggles to put damage on point up close
Baradul you know the Nightstar has a huge problem with weapon convergence.
That first game was painful to watch.
It's not fair to anyone that he had to match up with T1 players. I'd endure this over waiting in searching a game forever though.
Have you done any Bushwhacker builds? It was the first mech I bought via in game credits. I’m enjoying it a lot so far (about 3 days ago). I have 3 M lasers, 1 Sm Laser, 1 M machine gun, 1 AC5, 1 SRM STREAK 6, and 1 SRM STREAK 2. Most damage I’ve gotten out of it so far is 384 damage. I can’t recall 100% if that is my weapon set off the top of my head, but I think that is very close.
The P2 has a nice hardpoint loadout, you can do alot with the 'mech. Shame it only has weapon quirks for MGs.
If i'm using an XL engine I would go with 4x MLas, 2x MRM10 and a RAC2.
Bushies are great, my favourite design since the old BT cartoon ^_^. I'd switch to regular SRMS myself as it's got a very low and slim profile, you can dodge and weave in a brawl really easily in it and go for those face punch shots at weakspots. I'd keep your best weapons in the torso too, let the arms do the tanking for you (and never stop rolling your torso between salvos!)
He’s done at least six vids featuring the Bushie. Just type “Baradul Bushwacker” and ta- da!
Here is a link to one of them:

Marc Cholette awesome. I’m still new to his videos. Thank you.
Whee!

I could run this build on my Corsair-7A. XD
Only 3xAMS tho :(
@@eldrenofthemist2492 where you gonna put that 2nd 10slot weapon in if not the left torso?
