Halloween Season is here!! I thought I'd get into the spirit of the season with an American Girl Halloween video! In today's video, I'll give you a peek into my American Girl collection! I'm going to get a few of my dolls ready for Halloween and share some anecdotes about my time as an American Girl Employee with you! NEVER feel bad about loving your (impressive) doll collection! My 28 & 29 year old daughters and I just went to the AG store in VA a week ago! One is actively collecting and purchased some things, and I bought the Halloween costume for Mary Ellen (which daughter #2 gave me for my birthday a few years ago!).
I love my American Girl dolls! I have a Molly and Josephina dolls. The Molly is an original and is basically brand new in the box because I loved Josephina more.
Lori, I love, love, love this video! My daughter is 31 years old and used to play with her American Girl dolls all the time. Watching your video brought back lots of memories. How cool to work at American Girl. We brought my niece to the New York City shop for her birthday one year and she loved it. Love your collection! Thanks for sharing!
I love American Girl and am obsessed with them. I love the Halloween, Christmas and pajamas. I bought Courtney’s Halloween costume. I am careful all year round with spending until this time of year. I store clothes in carry containers. So, I can pick a container and dress a doll. I love luxury bag brands. But, now that I have dolls, I don’t buy much for myself, anymore. Because my dolls are more important to me.
Love American Girl. Both my daughters loved the dolls and now my granddaughter is starting to play with her mom’s historical dolls when she comes to my home. Your collection is amazing.
Such a fun video. Each of my 3 daughters went through an American girl doll phase. They are all older now but I enjoyed watching you share your knowledge and collection. ❤
I love your AG Videos. I have a really heartbreaking story. My two girls were given several American girl dolls by both my husband and I, my mom, and my now deceased in-laws. As they grew older they were kept carefully and stored in the basement with care. One day about six or seven years ago my husband decided he was going to clean out the basement. Unbeknownst to me, when I was on a business trip he gave about 90% of the American girl dolls away to Goodwill. Even the ones that we had custom made to match my girls hair, skin tone and eye color. I was hysterical. Came home from my business trip, raced straight to Goodwill and I was able to buy back one of them. The rest were gone. I was heartbroken. They were selling them for five dollars each. 😰 I was so upset but I knew he didn’t know their value and worth to my girls and myself. Anyway.. that’s not the reason why we got divorced. Lol. But just wanted to share that with you. I hope one day that the dolls that I have left I can enjoy with future granddaughters. Thank you Lori 💕I loved the video.
This was so fun Lori! I love all your videos but especially your american girl doll ones. I have always loved dolls but when I first learned of the Pleasant Company Samantha that I saw at a wealthy clients home I was smitten! My daughter was born in 1986 and she got Molly when she was about 7. I always saved all of her accessories and now I am a new grandma and hoping to keep them all for my new grandaughter. I just love all the new AGtubers who do little videos and all, but hearing from you as a former employee AND a collector is just so wonderful! Thanks so much! You are a pleasure to watch and listen to.

No AGs for me, however, I remember working for a family with twin girls that had them and ALL the accessories. I had Barbies, the Crissy doll with the hair that could be long or short using a knob located in her back. Oh the days of being a young girl. You do have an impressive collection....I swear those dolls were talking to you and the camera. Love the content as always
Your AG content always makes me so nostalgic. I had I think 6 dolls growing up and we still have most of it at my parents house. I have a few of the early GOTY dolls I should see what their stuff is worth
In the middle 90’s I sold dolls on EBay. Back in the day where item sold you waited to get a check from buyer then you would ship. I never had a problem with scammers or non payment. But of course I sold to Doll people. Also bought just as much. When AG came out I ordered the catalog with all the great add ons. Couldn’t afford one for my granddaughter so we just made things that looked like the pieces we wanted. Molly was my favorite guess because that was my era. My mother saved all my dolls unfortunately neither daughter or granddaughter were interested. One granddaughter Got the girl of the year Casey and that is her name. Made a ton of clothing for her . Still have my original Toni, Ginny and Revlon. Love your doll videos that there are others like me.
Oh my goodness! This is amazing! I still have my OG AG dolls from the 1980s, but I don't have any of the newer stuff. I've been wanting to get some of the historical dolls from after I stopped collecting. I have Molly, Samantha, Kirsten, and Felicity.
I Can’t Begin To Tell You How Much I Enjoyed This Video. It Brought Memories Of Me & My Daughter Going To American Girl Store In NYC( Near Rockefeller Center) Twice A Year.. Christmas & Her Birthday 6/29..We Had So Much Fun. We Met So Many People From All Around The World. I Don’t Know Who Had More Fun( Me or Her)😂. We Also Had Many A Brunch/ Dinners @ The American Girl Cafe. Needless To Say .. I did Spend Quite A Pretty Penny $$ Between The Doll, Outfits & Of Course, The Hair Salon. I Really Miss Those Days. Now, My Little Girl is Not That Little Anymore (17). She Doesn’t Play With Ashley ( Her Dolls Name) But I Better Not Give/ or Resell Them Either.. Anyway, Thanks Again Lori💕
This is really incredible, definitely subscribing to your channel. Your wealth of knowledge! I was soo into AG when I was 8-11ish, but of course then I grew out of them and gave my whole collection (and I had a LOT) to my younger neighbor, so sad. I just bought a secondhand doll (Tenney) off Facebook Marketplace and the excitement has all been flooding back haha. I'm going to sew and knit some historical outfits for her, which should be fun!
I wanted an American Girl doll in the worst way growing up (always way to expensive for my family so I never got one). now I'm trying to thrift my daughter all the AG things so she has some 🥰
I was too old when American Girl Dolls came out, however, my two nieces have them. I sew and have made outfits for their dolls. Do you think the resale of handmade outfits would be as much as the factory ones? They really are fun to sew. Fun video.
I’m in my late 30s and have my Kirsten doll and accessories from when I was younger. It is in excellent condition (I displayed her/changed outfits but never played with her) and I have all the original boxes/bags but I just can’t bring myself to sell her!!

You should totally dress them up and enjoy seeing them ( Halloween and Christmas time). Set them behind you on that back table or in front of you if you don't want your subscribers to see them. although I would love that. ~danni
I think I may have seen you at the Natick store when I lived in MA. I LOVED that store, all the employees were so nice. I’ll never forget the employee who “ooed” and “ahhed” all over my 1988 Kirsten when I brought her in to have her hair done in the original braids. I watched the salon employee doing her hair and she almost seemed afraid to style it, lol! I have some of the Harry Potter items and they’re adorable! The robes don’t close, which bugs me, the skirt is a little short and the crests aren’t embroidered appliqués except for on the scarves, but otherwise they’re nice! I have the boy and girl versions because my son has a mini-me and he wanted one even though he’s not ready for Harry Potter, lol! I’d definitely get them! There’s also a Janie & Jack mix and match collaboration that is very well done. I love the pieces I have!
I started collecting as an adult because I wanted them as a kid but I could never get them! This is really cool! I think if my husband and I had a child, I would get a part time job at the ag store so my child could have all of the cool stuff.😭😭

Yes I'm a doll girl too and my mom got me one of the Original Samantha dolls that I still have, but that was unfortunately as far as my collection went bcuz in my heart of hearts I am a Barbie girl! I'm like u, I have WAY too many and I still get them out from time to time to redress and "play" lol. Our Channel focuses on the reborn doll hobby, you'd REALLY freak family and friends out, with our collection LOL 😆 😄 🤣‼️‼️‼️ Anyway, I've jumped down your rabbit hole, this evening, as my second youngest daughter (24) just recently thrifted a 1990s Kirsten. I've revamped a couple second hand AG dolls for my granddaughter, so I've been sprucing her up, tightening her limbs, hot water bath for her unruly hair, etc. Her and her youngest sister got AG Dolls in the early 2000s. She had a Kit doll, and my youngest got a Truly Me doll. I too was mostly a Cabbage Patch girl, but for my childhood, American Girl was WAY outta our price range...I was fascinated by them tho!! Anyway, quick intro to myself, our Channel, where I'm coming from...etc. Do you happen to have an extra Kit doll, accessories, etc. That you are looking to part with. My daughter really would like to have one back, but I honestly didn't wanted to purchase the newer line. They seem to always change some minor details here & there. Your job working at AG seems like a dream job to me, glad you were able to experience that❤️‼️‼️ We visited the AG Store in Chicago and my youngest got her dolls ears pierced there...was such a fun experience. She is 21, almost 22 now. They grow up WAY too fast, huh!?! Anyway...just watched 3 of your AG videos...so informative, and fun!! I’m not a reseller! I’m a doll collector! Although not AG. I do use some 18” doll clothes and accessories for my 60cm SmartDolls. There are way too many people out there just buying dolls to resell for way more and also make it ridiculous hard for other collectors and the general consumers to even purchase, this has been a horrible problem right now especially for MonsterHigh.
I live close to the NYC store & dreaded when I had to shop for my nieces for Christmas. I was in & out of the store in 15 minutes. Now they are in college & the dolls are in the garbage
