Now, THAT'S what I'm talking about Rob! You never disappoint. You are the self-taught drummers' best friend! All the things that self- talk drummer struggle with, you always tend to address. That's why I love clicking on your videos. I know it's never a waste of my time. Like many self-taught drummers, I struggle with speed, not only on my snare but around the kit and without formal instruction, you're left to your own imagination on how to cure those problems. So here we are... In Living Color. Step-by-step instruction for the beginner, intermediate and self- taught drummer on how to build that hand speed! I plan on doing this for at least 15 minutes before I start practicing and playing everyday. I can already see that it's going to increase my speed tremendously. Once again, I'm a great fan of your channel and know anybody who wants to learn drums can go from Zero to Hero simply by watching your channel everyday and doing the exercises that you recommend. You're awesome, brother!

Hey hey ! Holy crap had no idea my single stoke roll was so terrible. I’ll be doing this exercise DAILY . I can’t even do the 1 sec perfect, much less the three’s. But I’m 62 yrs old and I work hard. I’ll get it. I will let you know when I can follow you . This is exactly what I need. This gives me high hopes . This is the one thanks Rob. We should say Sir Rob.
    Thank you

Beginner drummer here, showing some love to this exercise and this channel. Getting the fingers quick enough for nice, smooth single stroke rolls has been something I've struggled since I got my practice pad (it's been almost a year since that). Just trying out this exercise one evening felt good, and after a short week going at it, the improvement in smoothness and technique is amazing! Rob, you're the man!

At the beggining it looks like it's going to be easy if you're concentrated, but when you get to the groups of 3-32nd's, the exercise turns into a beast!!! Thank you Rob for this lessons, man: they are priceless!!!

I just played a three hour show for the first time in 10 years. Your videos got me back in shape Rob, and I got to see myself play for the first time in over a decade.
I saw all the work from using your exercises right there in front of me, man! I'm using fingers and wrists instead of hamfisted arm and shoulder playing.
I changed my cymbal layout, dropped the second tom (my ride lives there now) and changed my sticks to hickory instead of oak. Technique has shot up, fatigue is way down.
It all paid off, and it's thanks to you Rob. Great great great channel. Thank you SO MUCH! Peace.

This video has such a "workout video" vibe to it, as in those old exercise tapes. That's not a bad thing, get's you motivated. Very unlike anything else I've seen when it comes to exercises and it's all because of the rhythmic talking, that backing track and the personal little questions "how you doing?" and "good job" kind of stuff. Really makes you want to practice along with the video. Good job Rob.

Man, you recorded the best single strokes video of youtube!!! I watched your 20 minutes double strokes video, doing it every day since almost one month and, believe me, my speed and control increased tremendously! I'm gonna practice both single and doubles every day watching your videos. And I am sure I will improve! Thank you very much!!! Just a little suggestion for everybody: if you struggle with the bpm Rob is playing, just reduce the video speed. I reduced to 90% and worked perfectly for me. Keep practicing every day! Ciao!

Hey Rob so glad I came across your channel 3 months ago. Your hand exercises have completely transformed my drumming skills in that short space of time. I play in a Muse tribute band and there were a lot of fills that I used to scrape through by the seat of my pants, and now I fly into them with complete confidence without having to think about them so much. Especially on tracks like Resistance, Knights of Cydonia, Assassins and Stockholm Syndrome. Thanks so much dude!

Great material! I'm an older drummer that's now overcoming old bad drumming habits. Each day I work on an area of weakness - one of which is a weak left hand. Using this exercise I've improved 10 bpm in just the past 48 hours! I had to start at only 80 to get clean strokes, but I couldn't be happier. When combined with good fulcrum technique, this exercise will give you real progress! Thanks love it, love it, love it! Thanks Rob!

Beatdown Brown.. As there are so many YT teachers around on the net these days, I've been a little overwhelmed over the years by it all but since subscribing to your channel (after checking out a million others) I love your approach to all that you teach. It's perfect for what I've been searching for in a tutor for many years.. patience, understanding and overall care at all the player levels. I also love the half-time metronome b'track approach which I find helps one to focus on whats at hand with a groove not just the click though its just as important.. each to there own but that suits me just fine.
Sorry to say I've come in a little late on this years hands workout.. only this month.. however I'm checking out what I think I need to and already feeling the benefits. And you're a cool dude too..
