I'm not going to lie... I subscribe to a lot of drum channels... But yours is by far the best at teaching in simple layman's terms that I can relate to and that is very useful to me. Drumming, although I have been in it for many many years, has always seemed like a mystery to me because I never had formal training. You make everything so simple, understandable and easily attainable. I love your attitude, your Manner and your laid-back Style. It's a pleasure to watch all of your videos and I am so glad that I found your Channel. Please keep up the great work and good luck in all of your endeavors, Rob!
Thanks a bunch, man. That’s super encouraging 🙂👊🏽🇨🇦
I agree! This is best drum channel!!
Agreed!
AGREED
Clearly, Rob is The Man
*HEY FRIENDS!* Seriously diggin’ all the positivity over here. You guys are really liking this lesson! Thanks for watching and have fun with it!!*

Rob Brown dude your awesome greetings from Philly
Man..... Rob, another great lesson. I've become a loyal follower of your influential and inspirational lessons. I can't express enough how grateful I am for your generosity as you share your knowledge and experience via these lessons. You have a friend here in Virginia. Because of your lessons, I find that hope in the continual quest for becoming a better player ....... and person. Thank You Bro!!!

Some addictions CAN be healthy 😏 Thanks, man
Wuddup, Philly 🙂👊🏽
Just started at the ripe old age of 58. Looking for a good teacher and you're it. Thanks you so much J
Me too. Ex bass player now learning to drum at 54. 😊 Such a super cool tutor, thanks Rob Brown.. 🙏
54 here as well...played for a year and stopped. Back at it for about 6 months now.
You guys just made my night. I thought I was the only one goofy enough to take up the drums at 54!
Haha I'm 57 and tried this for the first time. Good luck to you!
You are supposed to Live till 100. You Ppl ain't old you just told to be
im 2 months in as a new drummer after "air drumming" for 40+ years. This channel always makes me feel like i have learned something useful without making me feel uncoordinated. My 9yr old loves it too. Thanks for your gift of being able to break it down for us noobs.
Hey big Rob, yo man you are without doubt one if not the best drum instructor on the net. Currently I fly with Drumeo, working on level 4 as of this month. But, and this is a serious but, whenever I get bogged down with trying to interpret and learn from some of Drumeo’s professionals, I turn to your channel because this is where I go to learn whenever I get confused and I’m struggling to understand a lesson. And without fail you always set me straight. You have a rare gift. Thanks man, as always once again you made what seems difficult easy. Drummerman Steve.
Your six stroke roll has its own feel to it. We need to come up with a nickname for it.
What I'm I waiting on??? I'm on the toilet watching your video, but LOOOOVE the video!!!
Same
@@patti6879 thanks Obama
EEW.
I don’t know why I’ve been avoiding this rudiment, but this lesson wiped out any lack of connection I had to getting the feel and chops for it. Thank you so much for everything you do.
likewise!
Nice lesson! You have a good way of explaining things to break them down and build them up.
I love when I dream about my drums!
Then i make up and go play. Good vids 👌
Thank you Rob. Brilliant lesson. I will be doing this next.
Oh Rob... I'm in love with the 6 stroke roll!
Love these, keep 'em coming!
Hi Rob,
Your channel really cuts through a lot of the boring stuff without straying from the fundamentals. You have really helped me reach some playing milestones. And your funny. Thanks Rob!
The simplest best instruction I’ve seen so far!
Beautiful roll. I love the sound of it.
Thank you Rob
Love the way you teach Rob , such a great rudiment .
Hey, Rob! Loving the channel and the videos, always informative, fun and cool. You rock, man! Thanks for sharing all the knowledge.
Been practicing it for a little over a week can already see the progress... love this rudiment
Love this Rob!!
One of the best explanations and executions of the six-stroke roll I've watched -- thanks!
You're a great teacher, a great player, and you really come across as being a great human being! Loved this lesson. Thank you so much.
It seems you focus on instilling the feel behind the rudiment and work from there. I really like that. The character should always be behind the drumming in my opinion. I also saw some comments about not having formal education behind the drums, and I can relate greatly. Your videos definitely do come across on a level that’s easy to digest. Keep it up man!
Man I’m glad I came across your vids. Great attitude and great playing. It’s motivating and inspiring. Keep it up man! The positivity is contagious.
Great video Rob, you are so patient and you chill me out when I watch you. Nice relaxed pace with plenty of time to think and get the feel for what you are putting across. You always have plenty of good tips even for old drummers like me that have been at it for 30 odd years! Thanks a million and keep up the good work!
Absolutely love your lessons man!!!
Thanks for watchin’ em, man 🙂👊🏽🇨🇦
Hey Rob, fantastic lesson. The exercise of playing singles with accents on the first & last notes, and then swinging it, was a great idea!
Ah man, those variations sound absolutely killer. Proper inspiring shit! Your doubles exercise has already helped me massively over the last last week. Huge noticeable improvement and it's making me enjoy practicing for the first time. I used to hate it!
I'll be hitting your Patreon as soon as I pay off these Quiet Tones and Silent Strokes I got. Many thanks for these videos.
Thanks for all you do, your a blessing to the drum community!
Five and six stroke rolls. The basic recipe for all drums rudiments . Thank you.
Have fun with it!
Thanks for sharing, this is definitely one of my favorite rudiments...sounds awesome on the kit...good job explaining, you’re the man!
This video, along with pt 2, is THE best drum tutorial I have seen, and I've seen a lot of really good ones to compare. The way you focus on the musical rhythmic feel of the accented notes is genius. Thanks, Rob
Thanks Rob. Always appreciate your perspective and insight on a rudiment, roll, or a groove.
Bro i absolutely love your character and ur tips are really beneficial and key. Keep up the great work, since ive been watching ive already improved so much :)
Another great video; always clear, accurate info, and demonstrations that encourage you to pick up your sticks! Nice work Rob!
Dr. Brown does it again!! Love the way you break it down and build on it. Great exercise and tool to put into one’s playing. Thank you once again for the enlightenment of the 6 stroke roll. WOW!!
Possibly the best explanation I’ve seen on the six stroke roll. Awesome bro!

Nice drum lesson dude, now I have something new to work on!
Loving the 6 stroke roll man. Already knew it and i'm a big fan but the variant you showed starting with the diddle has been an eye opener. Great exercise Rob. Thank you.
This is a great way to work up to the 6 stroke roll. Going straight quarters into swung quarters is a great progression.
Really dig your teaching style... Great stuff! thank You Rob.
I like your honest style to approach teaching - far from any kind of robot style. This really gets me motivated to spend hours with the rudiment. 👍
Very good advices to get some feel on playing too.
Love your lessons. You break it all down so well. Many thanks.
Nice one! thanks for making this. Your up-tempo demo is awesome! Very clean.

Thanks Rob! I’ve been drumming all my life and never learned the 6 stroke roll. A little embarrassed but you learn something new every day. Thanks to youI m gonna learn it. thanks for this bro. very helpful
Hey! Thanks for the vids. I'm slowly getting it back after 15 years away from the kit and much appreciate these vids providing inspiration and great lessons. When I see it all fast I remember the feelin' but I have some sheddin' to put in before I can do that again.
I agree with Bobby Threet - your channel is superb. You make difficult concepts manageable and fun. Love it. More please!

so useful as usual. thanks rob!
Thanks for another great video.
Great explanation, very clear, and like they say in all martial arts, "Slow makes smooth, and smooth makes quick." Applies so much to drumming. I quit drumming way back in 1969 after five years of rock and mostly jazz, but here I am watching.
Love the teaching you give with relax attitude im in
Great explanation of how to master the technique. Thank you. Now for the some practice.
Thank you for this great lesson, it makes it fun,
Thanks for finally making this so simple for me. I love the relaxed feel. Ypure great . My nwe teacher
When I started learning the rudiments 30+ years ago, i seemed to have overlooked the importance of the 6 stroke roll. After a several year hiatus, I am trying to get back into the swing of this, and I am regretful that I didn't spend more time with this roll back then cus I am finding it more difficult to get this stuff down now that I am getting older. Thank you for this excellent lesson!
@15:03 'There's no point in working on any kind of orchestration until you get the sticking down.' I rewound that five times to make sure I got it in my head! Thank you, Guru Rob!
Your videos present technical problems but each exercise remains musical. Great pleasure! And when we finally succeed -sometimes after many hours...-wow! ...
I’m diggin this roll! I am going to practice this one Thanks Rob!
Thank you sir for your content. New cool stuff to practice.
Top notch as always Rob. Gonna practice this one on the feet too
Loved this video! I think the 6 stole roll is gonna be my favorite!!!
