This is gut-wrenchingly beautiful. Beautiful and yet so sad - brings tears to the eyes. Mahler's music is just awesome. How can evolution bring about such art? There has to be a Creator, it's just glaringly obvious. And it's not just the music; the German words are so beautiful too. The linden tree ( a much nicer name than lime), the tree of lovers for its heart shaped leaves and bark in which their initials can be carved, (famed also for Berlin's main avenue "Unter den Linden") has lovely scented blossom so the image of this blossom snowing on this rejected lover is poignant indeed.
