I render the maps from the raw data that is publicly available. The format that it would come to you is as a kml/kmz file that overlays directly in google earth.
I sell LiDAR overlays for a number of GPAA claims. But there is also an app now called CalTopo that has Lidar layers built into it for areas that have data coverage.
Check out the CalTopo app. It has Lidar layers built into it for areas that have Lidar data. The Lidar layer in the app is called shaded relief and is in the base maps.
