Then I saw the boom! Video and have been stalking world of dance since then. Currently I'm impressed with the courage dancers have to put up dance videos even someone doing the geeky white boy dance (I think it's called hard style shuffle formally) has my respect cause too many judge dancers without dancing themselves... 🙄🙄🙄🙄😶😶
Honestly pole dancing is a great skill to have. It is the matter of strength. It’s not meant to be sexual. Pole dancing honestly is a good thing to do when not in a sexual way. I hate when people use it sexually as it’s a great skill. It is counted as a sport.
It's not bad to use it in a sexual way, sex workers deserve respect too, but I think it should also be noted to not sexualize people who are doing it in a non sexual way.

LOL this all sounds very familiar. I had a groupon for a 5 class pass and learned pole. Then continued with it for a year. It was fun but definitly intimidating and the worst part of it for me was the ad-hoc nature of the dances. Like I'd rather have strict choreography haha but that's me. You did great honestly! But hey we all have our own comfort levels and interests ;)
I remember in elementary school when kids would “pole dance” around poles and it was literally just climbing as high as you could up the frame of the swing set, attempting to spin and either failing and falling or failing and letting your legs dangle, swinging a couple times, and then collapsing onto someone on the swings and getting sent to the nurse. Good times.

I come back to this video every once in awhile for a good story/laugh and also looking at how you did that back hook move. I forget what they called it in class but you did it really well on your first class. I’ve taken 10 classes so far and still can’t seem to get that move down. That and body rolls which I’m still very stiff and awkward. You did great! Everyone starts somewhere when trying something new. And pole is very difficult. It requires a lot of strength and fortunately people are slowly starting to see it with less of a negative perspective and more so admiration towards an art that is truly beautiful! I’m glad you got a chance to try it! If you ever decide to try it out again, I highly recommend it. It’s helped me build up more confidence in myself since I’m naturally a very shy person who prefers to be a wallflower haha
