A few years back! It's all been nicely tarmacked now! Went up it a few days ago and forgot how bad it was! Kudos for being able to narrate while climbing. Every time I've tried this at full whack, I feel like coughing up blood / about to lose a lung at the top, it is brutal if you go hard at it!
it really is! The average is only 11% for the full climb - but that's with sections of around 30% mixed in. There's some even harder ones around here as well so I'll try and get some footage of those!
I've cycled up that on a heavy mountain bike it must be easy on a featherweight bike like that also compare this to the tour de France this is a baby hill :) good video!
Save yourself for the second steep bit is probably my best advice, if you start off too hard then you just leave your legs with nothing left to push up the big gradient at the end, where a lot of time can be gained/lost. Good luck with it!
thanks! when I first started 4 years ago, I was averaging 15mph on rides of around an hour. for the last couple of years I have been averaging 19-20 on most rides, with some rides being faster. I have suffered with stomach issues which have hampered my training and performance, but for the last couple of months I have seen significant improvements. so hopefully next season will be a good one for me!

I see your strava times are fast. What speed were you averaging when you started and have you seen it peak or still increasing?
