That is 100 percent his best movie, one of his first - and you get way more of the song Trouble! Also stars Carolyn Jones, years before she became Morticia Addams on The Addams Family.
I much prefer his original version of One Night. Censorship sucks and it wasn't even that risqué. He used the word "sin" and everyone lost their minds. I guess they didn't have any to begin with. A lot of songs in the 30s, 40s and 50s were incredibly sanitized (including Tutti Fruitti, which is about what you think it's about) for white, conservative audience. It was pretty gross that you couldn't hear the artists' original creations in their raw form because someone wanted to tell you what you can and can't listen to.
This is a small part of Elvis' "'68 Comeback Special" which is worth a watch for sure! After 10 years of making movies in Hollywood, and zero tours...he filmed this classic tv special.
My whole family sat around the TV and watched that special. It was unforgettable and eye opening for those of us in our early teens and pre-teen years.
The '68 special was important for the second part of Elvis' career. The tidal wave of the Beatles and other British Invasion bands had swept a number of previously popular American singers off the charts, and Elvis was in danger of being swept away too. With the comeback special, however, he re-established his place in popular culture, which he maintained until his death.
You know Elvis didn't like being called "the King".He once stopped a show in Vegas and told a lady with that on a sign, "There's only one king and his name is Jesus Christ".
You see why he is the King! The man was just raw talent. Such an incredible voice and charisma like no one else! The '68 comeback special is one you should watch entirely. It was incredible and I was born the year after it was made but have watched it a number of times. Elvis crosses over generations. Glad to see he is still appealing to yours.

After seven years of Elvis playing the clean cut, good guy next door in movies , Elvis opened the '68 Special dressed in black asking "If you're looking for trouble..." This was Elvis getting back to his roots in the 50s.
Guitar Man was written and recorded first by Jerry Reed who also played guitar on Elvis' version because Elvis couldn't find anybody who could play it like the original.
This was the opening of Elvis'' 68 TV special. After only putting out mediocre movies for 8 years Elvis was showing everyone he was still the Elvis we all had come to love; that's why they call it The Comeback Special.
I think you would enjoy hearing the original version of Guitar Man, which was done by Jerry Reed. Elvis wanted to record it but he was never satisfied with how it sounded in the studio. They reached out to Jerry Reed who told them that the reason why it didn't sound right was because he (Jerry) wasn't playing on it. They asked Jerry to play on Elvis' version of it, and that was exactly what it needed to make it a hit.
He played a little bit more 'scratch guitar' after you paused it off at the end guys! Glad you loved it a Superb reaction from both you lovely people. Have a great day!😀
#1 Show for 1968. First Time a TV special was made with no Guests. First time he sang a message song "If i Can Dream" First "UnPlugged" setting and it had no defined setlist, it was a jam session. No one knew what to expect after 9 years of no live shows and movies only! and it opens with this scene.. Steve Binder is a genius!!!
To hear the complete song "Trouble" by Elvis, you need to watch his performance from the scene in the movie "King Creole". It's awesome! As fir that second song, "Guitar man", that's originally a Jerry Reed Song.
You can thank Steve Binder for that, the director and producer ohe special. Steve who is 91 and acitve , and was actually portrayed in the "Elvis" biopic. Also on Paramount Plus, Steve narrates the and produces the inside story of making the special. called "Reinventing Elvis"
The clip started with the song "Trouble" but then warped into the classic late 60s hit, Jerry Reed's "Guitar Man". If you want another dose of "the getting down, deep and dirty, raunchy Elvis", you gotta listen to '68 Comeback Special version of "One Night" where he captivates a select audience surrounding a very small circular stage along with The Jordanaires. It takes me back to his early days.
I hope you go back and listen to the original recording of Trouble, it is an awesome track by Elvis and from what I consider to be his best acting performance from his movie King Creole co-starring Walter Matthau from Grumpy Old Men fame, a fantastic Elvis movie to enjoy...🙏❤️😎🇨🇦 R.I.P. Mr. Presley..
Definitely agree, although Walter Matthau was famous long before Grumpy Old Men. He was already well known when he got his first Academy Award in 1966 with 20 movies and 17 plays behind him. Of course King Creole was only his 6th movie and his performance certainly contributed to that success.

A little trivia for you…”Guitar Man” was written by Jerry Reed. In fact, that song was remixed in 1981, after Elvis had passed away, and featured Jerry himself on guitar.
You need to go further into the 1968 special because he does a reprise of Trouble/Guitar Man and adds in an extra verse where he’s made it to the top but wants to start all over again
If you want to see the original performance of “Trouble” he sings it in his 1958 movie King Creole

The background is reminiscent of "Jailhouse Rock."
Elvis can do FUN with music like nobody else. Check out "I Need Your Love Tonight..' But his ballads enrich my soul.
You guys should watch his Las Vegas comeback special live and watch his live performance and how he captures the audience... He can go from a slow love song to a fast song take a drink of water and keep on going...😊❤
Yes agree awesome special👍
68' special is probably the best live of Elvis , it includes this tune defo worth checking out
His looks😂😂😂😂 men men men AMAZING ❤
We love Elvis!! It would be great if you all would do Elvis movies' reactions! There are classic Elvis movies like Jailhouse Rock, Viva Las Vegas, King Creole, G.I. Blues, Spinout!. Blue Hawaii, Roustabout, and more!💖💖
This was originally used in his movie King Creole, for my money the best he ever made. The title song was hot ✌️
Guitar Man was originally by Jerry Reed
A little trivia for you…”Guitar Man” was written by Jerry Reed. In fact, that song was remixed in 1981, after Elvis had passed away, and featured Jerry himself on guitar.
You need to go further into the 1968 special because he does a reprise of Trouble/Guitar Man and adds in an extra verse where he’s made it to the top but wants to start all over again
WOWI! Fire!!
Gorgeous 😍
The silhouetted “Elvis’s” behind him is a reference to the famous scene from “Jailhouse Rock”.
