Spent 1800km on the roads of Quebec with one this summer. Really nice car, enough power nice economy. Of course I would like a 340i but it’s probably not going to happen, this a fine alternative imho
Nice vid, would love to see the same kind of review with the base Alfa Giulia. Also maybe compare it to the competition 2.0 4 cylinders. This way you have a nice overview over the more affordable ‘sporty’ cars
Giulia Veloce has a comparable 2.0 petrol...but built quality of interior somehow downgrades...also the dashboard display is old and software is slow...outside most of them has Xenon lights which are obsolete in most brands, with the new update for 2024 they have full LED option
My M340i has power for days! Especially when you get it tuned, add a cold air intake, and get a better exhaust. I added Dinan: Tune, Sway Bars, Cold Air Intake, Lowering Springs, and Exhaust. Sounds amazing and turns heads everywhere. I drive my on the Autobahn everyday and my cars takes corners extremely well. I also paid $62,000 for my car and added $8,000 in parts so... definitely more expensive.
I just did the Jhb to CT run in my GF's 330i Mzansi edition (lowered with carbon fibre bits). I wasn't a Beemer fan before that, but that surge of power on overtaking just feels so natural and easy. 7 hours Jhb to Bfrt West😁
Now do a remaped 330d vs M340d comparison, I got 4.7 to 100 with a remap and XHP (G21), wonder how much behind it still is of stock M340d, specially since is also more than 100kg lighter (no MHT version)
The M340i exhaust tip isn't fake. Sure it looks crap compared to the 330i, but it is oversized and has the pipe set back so it doesn't soot up. As for the engine, never driven the B48. I did have an EA888 and while it had the power, the B58 is so much more sophisticated and nicer to drive.
@@AGBoost An a G21 M340i owner.... It's cosmetic, sure, but done so that all the shit from the exhaust drips out rather than destroy the cerium surround. But as to being fake....you start your car up on a cold day and see what comes out the back end.
@@CM.243 With that logic I could just continue to stack as many cosmetic tips as I want but as long as I see some exhaust condensation coming through them they must be real. Sure it’s done for good reason but they are definitely classified as fake exhaust tips.
I have owned my 330i G20 for over 4 years now. I think it’s a perfect compromise when the M340i is just outside your budget. Mine is fully equipped with M performance parts (bought and fitted at DeMaassche) and I fitted an Eisenmann exhaust in the first year of ownership. The exhaust sound produced by the eisenmann exhaust makes up for the lack of a 6 cilinder sound. It’s not the same, but far better than the standard exhaust note as produced by the B48. Mine also has the limited slip diff which is a must have for every sporty driver in my opinion.
Owning it for four years how many miles does it have now and hows the reliability on it? I plan on gettjng a used g20 but just trying to do my research as much as possible
I'm also considering this exhaust but I have a question: Did you notice a significant difference inside the cabin with windows closed? Or is it only from the outside?

I own a 230i M Sport and it is everything the M240i is without the power. Oh, and it handles a bit better without that weight up front. For the money, the B48 versions of the 2 and 3 Series are a better buy, hands down. I ain't knocking the B58 cars, they are the industries' best, and I may end up buying an M240, but only because I'm nostalgic for a 3 liter inline BMW 6 cylinder, not because it is better than a 230. And mine will be a RWD, no xDrive for me.
In my opinion the 330i is a tough pick, since they ditched the inline-six. Since the biggest selling point is the nice handling, I would rather chose the Alfa Giulia instead.

Sorry, the M340i is a lot more, if talking tuning ,well the potential is a also a lot higher. Yes I do own a 330i, now done all I can to it and at the very limit of the stock turbo and sill screaming for more so no choice M340i coming in very soon. + They can sound so much better too, they are stunning cars and better inside than a F30, on the outside though F30 will still be one the best looking 3 series once they have the right bits and pieces on, correct stance etc.
Did you have to code out the fog light after deleting it? I’ve ordered the parts to install but don’t really want to code anything as I’m still in warranty (used approved)
I believe you can. The electronic diff you’re talking about (eLSD) only works when you turn DSC off, it electronically applies the brake to the slipping wheel so the other one catches up. eLSD should not activate with a retrofit LSD because you wont be slipping just one tire.
man... 92k km should be NOTHING for a modern car. Ive got 77k miles on my BMW and its doing ok but i've had to put way more work in than my lexus including gaskets that absolutely should not have failed by now. Performance efficiency between the two is night and day but its definitely going to be my last foray into BMWs after being a lifelong toyota product owner.
In the Netherlands I think the 330e is the sweetspot.. Because of the BPM tax system.. For € 4000 less you get 50 more HP than in the 330i.. Bit more weight obviously as well..
It's similar from 0-100 and the 330e is slower from 100-200. Max already tells that this 330i handles better than the M340i because this is lighter. The 330e is even 100kg more than the 340i Xdrive! Oh and the 330e is limited at 230kph.

Spent 1800km on the roads of Quebec with one this summer. Really nice car, enough power nice economy. Of course I would like a 340i but it’s probably not going to happen, this a fine alternative imho
What year model did you have

I miss the good old days when 330i was 3.0 six cylinder...
Thank the EU and their rules on big engines
12:00 that was satisfying
Proper BMW stuff, like it a lot !
G20 330i is probably the best 3 series ever. "Personal opinion"
I have the 330i Touring, 8 Gang Automatik, 252 PS, i think is F31 but witch G motor? 2017 year.

Patiently waiting for the BMW M2 G87 review! Love you!
Easily strong enough for a daily, perfect car.
I love mine. The b48 still runs well. I did activate sport plus and added a Dinan cold air intake.
Giulia is a good buy on the used market. Otherwise I’ll keep my 330
My M340i has power for days! I also paid $62,000 for my car and added $8,000 in parts so... definitely more expensive.
how awesome is this... i am just looking for this car to buy it... and then your vid... thank you!
I just did the Jhb to CT run in my GF's 330i Mzansi edition (lowered with carbon fibre bits). I wasn't a Beemer fan before that, but that surge of power on overtaking just feels so natural and easy. 7 hours Jhb to Bfrt West😁
Fuel consumption bafo?
@boirampai7404 2.5 tanks - not too bad considering
are you happy with the top end speed on that long trip
So much beautiful car and colour!❤
Thanks!!
Very good review with all the good infos we need. Great job guys 👍
Thank you for this nice review. I plan to buy this one to replace my F31 320d. You made my decision even easier
Outstanding job on that review.
Really enjoyed this, thanks for posting. I love my 330i a little bit more now 😊
That color with gold sparkleis nice 👌
Now do a remaped 330d vs M340d comparison, I got 4.7 to 100 with a remap and XHP (G21), wonder how much behind it still is of stock M340d, specially since is also more than 100kg lighter (no MHT version)
That colour ist gorgeous.
Great video buddy
EA888 is still the best and strongest 2.0 turbo engine
THE BMW CHANNEL
another 3 series video =D nice!
I hunted around till I could find one optioned with the LSD - best of both worlds (although I still do nearly shed a tear whenever I see an m340i)
The M340i exhaust tip isn't fake. Sure it looks crap compared to the 330i, but it is oversized and has the pipe set back so it doesn't soot up.
As for the engine, never driven the B48. I did have an EA888 and while it had the power, the B58 is so much more sophisticated and nicer to drive.
I agree, the in-line 6 is the essence of BMW and it's so much smooth and powerful (B58)
As an M340i owner… it is not connected to the exhaust at all. Absolutely fake lol.
Definitely fake exhaust…
@@AGBoost An a G21 M340i owner.... It's cosmetic, sure, but done so that all the shit from the exhaust drips out rather than destroy the cerium surround.
But as to being fake....you start your car up on a cold day and see what comes out the back end.
@@CM.243 With that logic I could just continue to stack as many cosmetic tips as I want but as long as I see some exhaust condensation coming through them they must be real. Sure it’s done for good reason but they are definitely classified as fake exhaust tips.
A little stage 1 will do it nicely
looking to buy this soon
What about suspensions? 19inch run flat tyres in the video, not the vest option for dainy use
I own this car and have never gone that fast wow!!!!
I've the facelifted Alfa Romeo Guilia. I guess it's a competitor to this BMW. Loved it.. but HATED the speed limiter at 240.
I think it's a sweetspot....bigger than an e39 5 series, better performance than a e36 m3...definitely at the top of my list for my next vehicle.
YOUR BIGGEST KENYAN FAN RIGHT HERE, AS USUAL, 19/09/2023
pretty sure in sport mode , if foot to the floor you get 285 for ten seconds foot to the floor overboost
That's the 330e not the 330i, the xtraboost is the electric motor
I'm happy I watched this
I have owned my 330i G20 for over 4 years now.
@@OblivvOfficialit’s extremely reliable. I have just had some issues with the blind spot assist. Otherwise it’s been absolutely flawless.
I'm also considering this exhaust but I have a question: Did you notice a significant difference inside the cabin with windows closed? Or is it only from the outside?
Yes also on the inside it’s a very noticeable difference!
i have the 330i withnthe 258hp engine and an M sport diff. it is such a great car! Also i love the adaptive suspension another feature i would highly recommend .
Any problems with the car?
@@pelicanmir after 100k km and almost 5 years only a single fuel pump issue that was cover by the guarantee. I drive the car quite often with 200+ km/h as I live in Germany
The 330i fuel economy is very good as well, driving an average of 150-160km/h im still able to get 600km per full tank
I was thinking of buying this (used) but the 2018 440i Grand Coupe stole my heart.
Still a lovely car the 440i GC, congrats. I got the 330i used last year, with the diff!
Dream Car
The Outro and especially in combination to the discount code made me laugh my ass off thanks.
Is not having an lsd on a xdrive 330i a dealbreaker?? Or could you still have fun in the bends with stock diff?
I think sweet spot is whole G20 3series preLCI.
Great video.
its my "dream car" atm ofc i mean for my dayli car.
In my opinion the 330i is a tough pick, since they ditched the inline-six. Since the biggest selling point is the nice handling, I would rather chose the Alfa Giulia instead.
@lennartdaniels No it isn't.
Id rather get the 330d
More than enough power for me coz we aint got not autobahn here 😂
Where would I find the fog light inlays?
been looking for one just like this but in white and i cant find any good ones.. loved BMW ever since i was little i finally decided to get this one now im to picky on what i want😅
Sorry, the M340i is a lot more, if talking tuning ,well the potential is a also a lot higher.
Yes I do own a 330i, now done all I can to it and at the very limit of the stock turbo and sill screaming for more so no choice M340i coming in very soon. + They can sound so much better too, they are stunning cars and better inside than a F30, on the outside though F30 will still be one the best looking 3 series once they have the right bits and pieces on, correct stance etc.
hello and compare to a A 4 45 TFSI 252 or A 5 which car you prefer and why ?
What did he do with the fog light after the switch? I’ve bought the pet and getting it fitted tmro!!
Did you have to code out the fog light after deleting it? I’ve ordered the parts to install but don’t really want to code anything as I’m still in warranty (used approved)
I know that its a good engine, but I still cannot bring myself to own a 4 cylinder BMW.
When are you reviewing the new M2? Please?
I think you need the stage 1 tune
Is the Mdiff retrofit-able? I thought it was mechanical and electronically.
I believe you can. The electronic diff you’re talking about (eLSD) only works when you turn DSC off, it electronically applies the brake to the slipping wheel so the other one catches up. eLSD should not activate with a retrofit LSD because you wont be slipping just one tire.
Dude, do you have go-kart experience? That wheel pushing made me wonder :D
It will be interesting to how this compares to an Audi a4 45 tfsi
330i destroys it with easee😅 dont ask me how i know
but is the sound origianal or is it produced by something besides the enginge?
Something makes me want to see a comparison between this car and a Mazda 3 with the 2.5T engine
I agree that the 330 looks better than the 340
The fact that it's still performing at 92k km is pretty fantastic. That's a good sign for this generation BMWs.
92k km is nothing wtf 192k would be normal..
In the Netherlands I think the 330e is the sweetspot.. Because of the BPM tax system.. For € 4000 less you get 50 more HP than in the 330i.. Bit more weight obviously as well..
Not so sporty as a 330i and small fuel tank in the 330e
@@Brandon-kg3plnot so sporty in what way? The 330e is faster on a straight line but in corners I think the 330i is.
@@rustcohle9589 handling wise, steeringfeel in corners. And the 330i is even 0,1 second faster than a 330e.
It's similar from 0-100 and the 330e is slower from 100-200. Max already tells that this 330i handles better than the M340i because this is lighter. The 330e is even 100kg more than the 340i Xdrive! Oh and the 330e is limited at 230kph.
Zo'n accu is ook meteen leeg en hij weegt veel meer.
This is the same engine as in 2016?
Which is better equipped ?? The M sport or the simple Luxury model ??
